BTC-E is Russian, and not regulated well enough to be safe.

You'll find that the Coinbase price is almost the same as the Bitstamp price, because both of those exchanges are fully functional, safe and regulated.

I would suggest either using GDAX (Coinbase's dedicated exchange, with much lower fees), or Bitstamp (a trusted European exchange).
Alternatively, you could trade peer-to-peer using LocalBitcoins.

Hello guys,

I am the beginner of bitcoin from the US. I've been reading this forum a lot so thanks for all the info. Here are few questions I have.

a)I check preev.com for the bitcoin prices. It shows bitcoin price is: $2469 as of right now. However, I've been checking various websites such as Gemini, coinbase etc. I always get a lot higher prices for US market. While btc-e is at $2449, coinbase is around $2508 + 1.49% fee.

Where do you get your bitcoins with reasonable fees and commission? It seems Gemini, coinbase etc. are $50 more than some other european bitcoin exchanges.

b) What is your favorite Exchange and why? Is that price, is that fee or what is it?

c) I would like to buy my bitcoins through ACH or debit card. Only good website I found was coinbase but their bitcoins are EXTREMELY expensive + their commission is way too much. How about your exchange's fees and how do you make a deposit?

Again guys, I am located in New York. So I need help based in US.

Thank you so much in advance.

a) Preev rates are based off a weighted average of all main bitcoin exchanges. Usually exchanges such as BTC-e have a big exchange volume, whilst having much prices because they deal with irreversible payment methods only(PM, OKpay etc.) whilst coinbase deals with reversible options, meaning price is usually higher. But usually the max difference you'll sees 70-80 USD.

b) Circle, it has pretty good rates and is simpler than even coinbase. But if you need coins fast, and don't mind paying a bit more, then use localbticoins.

c) Trust me, coinbase isn't that expensive, at least not extremely. Can you do wire transfers? If yes, then just go to localbitcoins and you can buy close to spot.
