To elaborate a few points.
- 0.10.0 can download the headers first, then it will be "synced" while it downloads the beefy data
- on 0.10.0 budget 1 minute for each hour you are behind in the blockchain. Most computers can do an hour a second, but I'm pessimistic
- If your on dial-up 57k modem, or mountaintop microwave internet, with a 1995 IDE harddrive... it will take... well forever...
- Bootstrap.dat is still missing the last year or so of block-chain data
- Fastest way to get it all is to just put a usb key in a computer that has the whole block-chain and copy it that way
- BitcoinJ or MultiBit, or something can all work without the blockchain... if you want
Your likely in for a wait, or look at running a partial node instead
