I am looking to open a new bitcoin casino.

I want to start off by opening an online bitcoin casino WITHOUT a license. I want to know what countries allow for this LEGALLY.

I plan to get a license in the future if my website gets some decent traffic.

You want to open a casino here in crypto gambling? What kind of casino do you like? Do you need a centralized or decentralized based platform? Maybe you also have capital in this matter? because you have many competitors who are quite heavy and there is a community here.

So I think that if you don't know anything like that, you need to think and study it carefully a few more times. PLEASE read this link for what you should do if you are really determined op https://thedailyguardian.com/how-to-start-a-crypto-casino/

You want to open an unlicensed casino and expect traffic? Goodluck with that. Just the fact that you want to open an unlicensed casino already warrants people to NOT visit your casino. Words are empty, people want movement, actions, results. And in this case? What they want is a license. So that they can ensure that you're not just gonna run off with their money after cheating them of it.

As for opening an unlicensed casino, I'm not sure but I think you just need a reliable software provider, gambling games, secure mode of payment, and the site itself. As for any country that allows it, I don't really know. A lot of countries have been strictly regulating any type of casino that pops out of their territory so you might just get written on their list if you try and open a casino anywhere. And even if they don't notice you, trust me, you're not going to get any traffic. I also like to play in online casinos, namely, I select the best gaming sites using best online casino australia real money, where I can read real reviews and choose the best option for myself.

Hi, Thanks for your response.

Well I am just a student and I don't want to risk putting more than half of my net worth on just a license. My website operates solely on a player vs player game so i do not require any bank roll. Once my site establishes a regular traffic I would obtain that license. But to start off, I was just looking for something thats cheaper and less risk for me.

I also do not want to do anything illegal.

It is important to be careful with your investments, especially when starting a new venture. It makes sense to prioritize minimizing risks and ensuring the rule of law.

Starting with a cheaper and less risky option sounds like a smart approach, especially considering that your site is focused on player versus player games without the need for a bankroll. Generating regular traffic and building trust in your platform before obtaining a license seems like a smart plan.

Ensuring legal compliance is critical and it is commendable that you want to avoid anything illegal. Taking steps to operate within the law from the start will help protect your business in the long run.

I think this is a good discussion I was curious too about where to open an online cryptocurrency Casino, it came to my mind lately but I really think there's a lot to consider including license, bankroll, development, marketing, maintenance, etc.

I agree with that, the amount of money needed to start your own casinos is huge, that if you are really serious because there's a lot of things or factors you'll have to consider in order for you casino to succeed, at least we have this thread that is something we can check on if in the future we have the capital needed and the people to work with us.

If you are serious with your plan, it will be good if you can find solution first with regards to your capital because if you have enough capital then anything that follows will be pretty simple.

It will become simple as long as you know how to create a solid team that can help you in building your own Bitcoin casino. You haven't drop also here if what are your skills that you can offer in your upcoming casino like do you have coding skills, marketing skills or you only have the capital. But as of this moment capital will be the most crucial that you need as you will surely need a good amount of money in order to establish a Bitcoin Casino successfully.

Yes if you want to do serious business then you need to keep these things properly planned in your mind.
First of all many people will ask you questions and about your trust, if you don't have a proper license.
After that, if you don't have enough bankroll then soon, the site will become bankrupt and no Gamblers will visit the site again.
At last maintenance and Promotions also plays a major role.
You need to give periodically updates with new features in the site/casino, that will keep your Gamblers attached to the site.
And a right way to Promote the casino will lead you to the top of the Gambling business.
Hope this helps you mate.

Hello
Let's start off by finding if your country is in the legal list.

I found this on the website https://slotegrator.pro/gambling_blog/where-online-gambling-is-legal.html

Now let's think about what you would need.

1. Make a team
    Developers
    HR
    Management team etc ..
2. Plan!!!
Look for funding , make plans , check the schedule and start thinking for the future
3. Finalize the design of your website and look for reviews
4. Get a test start
5. Get involved with people on the forum and maybe start a campaign
6. Viola!! After so much hardwork you have your own gambling website.
7. Make sure to periodically involve yourself in campaigns because these are the ones which would get traffic towards your site.

This topic is so old, sorry for reviving it but I would like to share my thoughts with you that an online casino business website is much more interesting and easier than opening real-life gambling.
I doubt it being more interesting but I agree it would be much easier to run an online gambling casino than a casino.

also, you're not sorry reviving the thread seeing that you only logged in to post this one then logging out the second you finished posting.

There are many places to open online bitcoin casinos it's based both online and offline there are many benefits to having a license if casino play is against the law elsewhere you'll easily play with a license if you're not allowed there are many gambling sites during this forum. Currently online casinos handling cryptocurrencies mainly bitcoin because the most reliable and liquid, are gaining more and more popularity. Some online casinos work exclusively with bitcoin while others offer btc as a further alternative to traditional cryptocurrencies.

To my knowledge there isn't a single country that allows online casino without a license. So if you are planning to open a Bitcoin
casino online, you should have a license so you don't have problems in the future. Instead of forcing to open an online casino without
a license, and it can hurt you if you have problems with the law, I suggest you better open an online casino with a license. Regarding
the problem of websites traffic, it depends on how you promote your gambling site. If you have a large budget for promotion, you can
try create gambling campaigns in this forum. I am sure that if you promote your gambling site in this forum,  your gambling site traffic
will be crowded.

My country which bitcoin casino newly legalized but other online casino is not too common in the country. Casino shop are everywhere in the country, but online casino is very few in the country that is making online gambler lack where to play online casino in the community. With one month work you can get your license for the online casino with the help of the government and pay later. Once gambler discover that the online casino is not illegal company, every gambler will like to play with your company.
. The population of online casino gambler in the country is more than casino store gambler in the country.
Every online gambler need steady network and stable payment in the gambling center.

I like straight simple questions !

what you need for starters :

Trust proof(s) : casinos online or not , are like banks , what u got there ?
Audience : are you already famous ? or what u plan to do about ?
Capital : can you show us (potential costumers) the Money ?  Grin
Resources : did you have domain_name(s) , server(s) , software , right people to run your casino ?
Vision : there are thousands already working Casinos , what more you can offer to us ?
...
sadly enough , list is way too long my friend , but we can try still !
i am patient and open to discuss casually or deeper , think and answer some of my questions to kickstart this thread of yours.

Elias Ch.

Hey thanks for your response. My website is a player vs player game. So I don't actually require a bankroll. I just take commission.

You didn't really answer my question. So I was just wondering which country would allow a Bitcoin gambling casino without a license. Here's a demo of my site: https://youtu.be/-_d6hlpSGMk

The OP is really not answering your question first, instead of before He gives the answer that you wanna know, there is some question that the OP wants to know and for us to know as well. And He has a point with his question. Why don't you answer his query first anyway? if you didn't answer that means you are hiding something, or you just want to collect money from the investors.

If you want to trust your future player you need to get or apply for license because like me I want online bitcoin casino who complete details and also have license but I play also does not have license if the gamblung site prove that they are legit and operate more years and the feedback from the most of the players are positive. Getting license attract players it is friendly reminder to you.

Sometimes it doesn't depend on whether the site has a license or not, what is important first is if the site has the capability to run their marketing campaigns, because sometimes, we can tell the legitimacy of a gambling site if they, themselves know how to take risk and have funds to run their own advertisement to promote the site. Second to consider is if they have allot of positive feedback from people who already played on their platform, specifically, those that experienced fair games.

I want to start off by opening an online bitcoin casino WITHOUT a license. I want to know what countries allow for this LEGALLY.

I plan to get a license in the future if my website gets some decent traffic.

I think it seems to be impossible to open an online casino without license because for sure people will choose to get engage into an online casino which showcases legitimacy which can only be shown by having a license to prove that it is a legit and reliable one. Anything running or operating without license can be considered as illegal. If you do want to run an online casino then it is best to fix legalities first so that people will be attracted and want to get into your online casino. Although your objective was clear and precise to provide license once your website gets lots of players, still people do want to secure their own safety since online casino is a convenient way to play casino even at home that still uses monetary like the usual casino to play. It will be best to show that your online casino is legit by having license first before any other thing.
One way to attract more players is to provide them securities, if people / gamblers see that you are taking this seriously more gamblers will go there and visit your casino sites, you need to invest with this factors as it's always one of those things that people/gamblers will check first before dealing with your website.
Opening casino business do need investment not alone with the sites and those game interface but you must include license.

You could hire software engineers to deploy your website in a different country and you can operate such online business in few countries that has no strict laws about online gambling platforms.

Your idea makes sense, and I think that will help someone who has money and want to open an online bitcoin casino. That person can do that, and he can select the best person who has skills in software engineer to maintain the gambling website. Maybe he needs to make the team from many countries, especially for people who lived in the country that gambling is allowed. With those teams, they can operate the websites without the owner, and the teams will make sure the gambling website will get famous.
A considerable act but not totally ideal if you cant able to manage it well. Also the first thing or priority to make on this kind of set-up is that you should
trust those teams that you have hired on running such business on other places but for me it would really be that risky and i would rather find ways on my own
or wont risk out on letting others would do the job.If you do tend to run a bitcoin casino then knowing your countries law towards it would be the best
initial step for us to make, or seek for some professional advise.

Although i recommend getting a license anyways because in the long run, it will be bad for a business that is not legitimate and customers might stay away from it. There are other disadvantage to it like getting sued through tax evasion, i know every government has law to that when you're setting up business. These are why, i suggest you to reconsider and get legal documents like license.
It could be possible but remember that , it is better to get his website licensed not only his website security but the business itself so that many people will trust his casino and will never have a doubt on it, do not tolerate that he don't want to make it licensed to the government, it will only be a illegal, and also those who are playing in that casino soon will be at risk, we should consider that safety of the target gamblers as well.

freebitco.in is more of a casino than a faucet right now (they claim to be the biggest bitcoin casino) and they have been operating for years.

Unless things change and governments start to regulate bitcoin (they cannot decide whether it is a good idea to acknowledge bitcoin as a legit currency or not right now) like they do to FIAT, you don't need a license as long as you don't touch FIAT.

I'm always looking in a online gambling sites that doesn't requiring my IDs for verification, it is very inconvenience for me. It is also good if a online gambling casino have unique features. The number of users are also important because most of thr gambling site that is closing or experiencing bankrupcy is because they have low users. There are a lot of factors that we should consider, with research we can identify the suitable online gambling casino for us.
It might be an inconvinience but it is necessary for you to add funds or to withdraw large amount of winnings. You need to do that so that casinos will have assurance as well that you are not a bot. But casino needed a licensed so that its client or gamblers will have an assurance as well that casinos will not take their money or run their money because of illegal operation.
I do bet but I always feel that if I am able to give ID proofs then I would prefer proper betting sportsbook like bet365 instead of sportsbet.io or others. With all the respect and deserved love for these bitcoin casinos, they come no way close to what big sportsbook offers and if I am giving my id proofs and everything then I would want to use the best possible options.

Bitcoin gambling was meant to remain anonymous no matter how big we win, consider primedice you can win 100 BTC withdraw and walk away like you did nothing, that's the power of crypto gambling and I just want that to remain that way.

Their trust will be their biggest invetsment, you need to have it, im sure they will investment when they are at peace.
They are afraid because they do not have assurance that their funds will be safe. I'm creating an account in online casino that have good reviews in the internet for mr to ensure that the casino that I will choose is legit and convenient to use because there are online casinos that have bad services and poor security. Open an account in a casino that have many users and also have good and unique features.

It would seem to be nonsense if you were to make an unlicensed online gambling website. Websites do requires local government licenses if and only if you are making money out of it, like Facebook for example that at first and its beta testing doesn't require that much of jurisdictional paper works yet yesrs after it makes money it later then required to pay taxes in its local government. And unlicensed gambling platform isn't to be trusted at all. Even users would doubt using an unlicensed platforn and risk their money.
A gambling site would work still without a license but it won't be good for long term since it is one of the must have things when starting any kind of business especially if it is an online platform, wherein the license would be the basis of your target 'customers' or players perhaps in this case, to invest or to play in your platform, unless you are famous enough that many people recognize you as someone trustworthy.
A casino without a license is seriously untrustworthy, also as a gambler there are too many risks on playing on some Casinos like that. Even though they said to be just starting but afaik Casinos are required to have a business license before they can fully operate (Online Casinos are the same afaik-Correct me if I'm wrong...)
It is actually correct but as what was stated, he does not want to use all of his money in license, so maybe, his priority is the gambling site itself, and license would follow. Although the process is a bit risky, but it would somehow work. Some gambling sites that are already having quite popularity still has no license but still, they managed to make it on its way.
He might be just wasting his time and miney if he will continue doing that, as of now havjng a license will also benefit the company as for the users use this as a tool and requirement if a certain site can be trusted.
Still if he will do that on a later time then why not now, yes?
Does it have any differences if they do it on a later time? I think not.

More like having an online bitcoin casino without a license is illegal for most of the countries. Also, no one will be interested to play in your casino if it is not licensed or it is working illegally think about that.
Most of the time unlicensed casino are cheaters or doesn't have a fair game in their websites, before getting a licensed the game is going to be checked by the authorities if it is working fairly and then you could get the licensed if your websites pass it, That is where a lot of gambling websites get trusted by the randomness of the game since it is licensed.

As OP has mentioned, it's a 1 on 1 PVP based-game. Making it riskier to test it with people's money since aside from the site isn't operating legally, we can't determine the fairness of both parties.

This is also another thing that should be consider of all the people who wants to start their business in the gambling world, you have to gain the trust of the public for you to easily promote your gambling site by those people who experience good things while they are playing, that is an advantage since money is involve.

He can promote his gambling site in the social media, and maybe joining in the gambling groups that already exist in the social media will help him to get more members. He can also gain the trust of people in that group while he can gather them who already join in his sites to discuss everything so he can get another suggestion that can help the site grow bigger. If he can get more members, that means, he can slowly increase the number of visitors that came to his website.

OP wants to open a casino without a license since like the usual mindset of any people doing small startups, "I'm a small business so why should I get a license to operate! I will get a license once my site becomes popular and famous".

They didn't realize that one thing gambler wants before playing in a site is the assurance that the site is legally operating and complying with laws. Do these people really think that by opening up a website, it is easy to attract users?

Also, it is hard for OP to experience if his gambling site business would be shutdown in its hype by the authority because he have no licensed, that would be more frustrating, because all of his efforts would vanish into thin air just like that, that is the reason why having an early precautions or requirements for the future consequence is more better than being an ignorant and run any business with his own rules and judgment.

As OP has mentioned, it's a 1 on 1 PVP based-game. Making it riskier to test it with people's money since aside from the site isn't operating legally, we can't determine the fairness of both parties.

I am looking to open a new bitcoin casino.

I want to start off by opening an online bitcoin casino WITHOUT a license. I want to know what countries allow for this LEGALLY.

I plan to get a license in the future if my website gets some decent traffic.

Some countries that offer license are malta and Panama it's better to get one this early then getting it later when your casino is already doing great it will cause a hassle for the operation if you need decent traffic to your website then launch a campaign here in Bitcointalk many new online casinos started their campaign here.

Even if you are worried on not making any funds in your website even after acquiring a licence, I still think its best to get the licence.
More people are gambling this days since cryptocurrency makes it easier for them to. One thing that draws them to a site is how legit it is and the marketing. So, set up your casino with new features in it, and market it well. Truth is, you will still have to spend some good amount of fund in the beginning but soon enough, it will pay off.
Yes. The legitimacy of a platform is what make the most gamblers confident of trying them out and once they've found a necessary proof that it's a legit one, they will stay loyal to it as long as they have the games that these gamblers want. With the other post that he had, he's trying to sell or look for a partner to launch this casino. I think it will take time for him to decide whether to pursue it or get a license first.

I will not play on that website if, in the first play, it's not running legally, you have nothing to lose! You can close the website anytime if you get a vast number of users. And if you want to run it, you should get a license considering that in the end, it will just cost you a large amount of money to fix your title if someone from the government discovers it.

And if you are going to run with that setup. I don't think that there are players that are going to risk their money on your site.
While I agree with you, I would admit that I often play at primedice and I don't know if its legal or not. Don't get me wrong I actually never spare any time to bother about these things, as long as bitcointalk community trust a betting website I would always feel safe betting there.

There have been a lot of casino that looked so good and even claimed to be licensed but ended up as being fishy and scam. I was reading around recently in the forum where the betting website changed their rules as the gambler won a few extra mbtc and they had to change rules to make sure they can avoid such losses. So yeah sort of agree that being licensed is good but if you have a goodwill here at forum, it helps!

Look I will be very straight forward with you here. There are already massive number of casinos and punters out there and if you are not even going to be licensed then it will be a cut-throat situation for you in such a liquid market. I mean why would a gambler risk their funds on your website? So for me a casino that is new, the first thing I WOULD look for is - is the casino licensed? If not then I would never deposit my own money there.

Secondly, if a gambler loses a big amount of bitcoins on your casino and you are no under any legal security then they can always threaten you to sue you and get back their funds.

There is a very very very small set of nations that both look great on crypto currencies and also would allow you to start an online casino based in their nations but runs on another nation on top of that allows you to apply without going there. So, when you bring all of that together, you understand why most of the big websites (almost all) used some weird ass island nation that worths nothing and having absolutely no control or even law power to jail anyone even if they are registered as a casino there and still scam people.

Caraboa or whatever those licenses worth zero, you think anyone would be able to do anything at all if that casino with worthless license just scams you? The best case would be just simply create a wave of trust that nobody could deny.

As we already knew that we have many recommended gambling site which has a license, we can play on their site without thinking about trying with the new site because they don't have a license or they don't have reputations. The new website needs to build reputations and of course license, so gamblers can feel comfortable to play in their site. But if he insists on creating his gambling site without thinking about the license, maybe he can get the money from gamblers who will not think about the license.

And yet it could give a good impact to the site since licensed company is good for the gamblers to trust with since most of them need an assurance for their money that's why if the gambling owner will comply to all legal requirements then provably he can create a good business here. And I saw do many unlicensed sited here yet they are been lambasted by many criticism and accusation so they should think legally before operating this type of business.
The trust on the gambling site would surely be boosted ones a gambling site is licensed, At least the gamblers would have a calm mind thinking that the owner wouldn't run out on his gambling site when a problem happens, One of the biggest factor that a gambling site should have is the trust they can give into their gamblers, a license can be the one who can capture the hearts of the potential players that a gambling site would get.

There are some countries that can give out a license even though it's hard and it cost a lot, I think it would be useful in gaining trust and to avoid legitimacy problems.

Actually every country has it's law especially when it comes to gambling business in which every country has it's law about the legalization of their business so that it would not be illegal after all, it is a important matter that the gambling business is licensed altrady so that the clients also will not be afraid to play on your bitcoin casino, better if you will be able to look some lawyer or attorney on what you need to do in order to start a bitcoin casino that is legal because in my country you need to have a business permit before you operate any business especially with gambling business or casinos.

The site can be browse in every part of this world, so meaning it is needed to be licensed in case of everything and so that the local government will not banned it , and it will not prohibits its countrymen to use that. Here in us , every gambling activity has the government licensed on it.
not really buddy . not all gambling site can be access on all regions because they might be illegal so they are blocked  . using vpn is not also allowed on most gambling site  . the accesibility is not dependent on the license    .  on what place you live and on what kind of gambling your refering too  ? offline  ?

Every country has its own jurisdictions and we should obey this and avoid putting on jail. A gambling license is required as a certificate of a gambling company that allows them to operate gambling under what jurisdiction they had. Operate gambling legally and without any complication may happen in the future. If you are changing your mind regarding how to get a Gaming License I'm sure you will realize how important it is.

Around the cryptospce we have more number of cryptocurrency accepted casinos. Countries fear of cryptocurrencies and as a result it is quite hard to get legal acceptance to open a cryptocurrency accepted casino. Getting decent traffic is possible through the uniqueness the casino has got compared to the other casinos. Beyond this it is the marketing that receives the traffic in bigger scale.

Around the globe there were few countries that support cryptocurrency related businesses, it is good to get it registered on those countries and move in the future to your own country if something positive happens with cryptocurrencies usage.

I don't think there's no such country allowing having any operations with money involved to be not licensed. Since your website involves transactions, money, and sales, they would most certainly look for you and your permits to operate.

If you plan to release it anyway, try releasing it only in testing phase. Have a group of people interested in testing out the game first, and without real money involved, have them play around your simple website/casino (if that's what you'd call it). Testing the product first before it's release has some advantages like:
  • You'd be aware of the bugs, if there are any.
  • You'd get responses from the testers on what to improve on the gameplay and the site overall
  • You could reduce the chances that something goes wrong while players are actually playing and betting their own money (which would lead to lawsuits).

As OP has mentioned, it's a 1 on 1 PVP based-game. Making it riskier to test it with people's money since aside from the site isn't operating legally, we can't determine the fairness of both parties.
Knowing the site youre playing that had license is good and is a must thing for those casinos that are physically operating but for online ones?
For sure it wont really be that necessary specially if countries laws arent really that strict.Imho even good sites nowadays, there are still who
dont have licenses yet but they've become popular to the masses.

Why do you want to open a gambling site without a license? Are you short of capital?

Unlicensed online casino sites are the least visited so they will not get large traffic. So the thing that you must prioritize if you want to open it is a license, without a license you will only waste time because there wont be many people who trust your site. If you have enough capital then think about licensing, then you only need to do a promotion to make your site famous and its common.

Without capital and licenses, I dont think casino sites will get a decent visit, even your site will also be categorized as a casino site that users might have to avoid for safety.

Online gambling law differ from countries to countries. You probably should hire a legal team so that they can advise you what to do and what not to before you start taking some huge steps or else you might fall into some deep trouble. Probably a quick google search might help you get the information you are looking for? And why would someone play on an unlicensed casino while are tons of other well known casino with a license? You probably should rethink about getting a license.
Yes, we need to obey the rules, especially in gambling specifically in casinos, because we all know that in casinos a huge amount of money is can be get by winning a jackpot, and also a large amount of money is being regulated every day, thought you want to operate it in an online still you need to have your business licensed to operate it and run in online.

Unless you own a license, you cannot easily make such an attempt in any country. You will experience great problems both in terms of legal problems, state regulations and user trust. Also, if you do such a thing, you will not be able to find a player to use your service, because no one will want to use a service that he does not trust, does not know his center, and does not have a license. As I mentioned, you cannot perform such a service or initiative in terms of legal terms, government terms and user trust. If it is done, you will face great difficulties or you cannot find a player for your service.

As long as government have legal law for operating crypto and gambling casino then it's fine. But you will need to provide all necessary permit and details as it still considers as business and liscensed to operate are required.
In my country gambling is illegal but some still operates it and I don't know how. Better find gambling friendly country first which allows BTC then canvass if they accept mo liscensed.

There are no countries that allows that, you cannot make an online gambling site without any license because countries either completely banned it or you are required to get a one before proceeding to your plan, unless you wanted to be in jail for not abiding the law, especially if you are a foreigner to a certain country where you plan to start your business. A license is a must to:

- Verify your Identity (so that the players would have a peace of mind that you are a legitimate person)
- Provide proof (that you are capable of running your business)

I want to start off by opening an online bitcoin casino WITHOUT a license. I want to know what countries allow for this LEGALLY.
I was become curious after reading this.
Does using Bitcoin to gamble in some countries still prohibited by the government? Because as far as I know, as long as the gambling website or platform doesn't use some banks or any national fiat currency money transfer just to deposit funds on every user account it still okay.
But we are talking about Bitcoin to be used on the gambling website and start gambling. Enlighten me.

In some countries, it isn't illegal but licensure and legitimacy s necessary. It's still better to run a licensed business so there will never be hassles and there will be continuous growth. However, some people who are running an online crypt gambling business prefer anonymity so they choose not to get a license.

Oh really you want to operate online bitcoin casino without license? Are you are of that? Because I'm player and I want a Online Casino who habe license and if you want to start bitcoin Casino you should have capital for that.
If you would think about different online casinos worldwide, you couldn't basically trace the members identity, the reason is because, it is allowed to have a casino that is running in a decentralized manner. Meaning to say that you could have your casino, and it is up to you on how you would fund it, such as attract players through marketing.

Getting license for your gambling sites can atract the players because we are feeling safe and become more legit if you have that. Right now it's hard to trust new gambling sites what more for there is no license , just fix all you need to do and create and do what is really wants of the player and see your site will grow.

This is a plus points for the players to see the gambling site perform very well and with a full license, but for gamblers who really tend to risk their funds in return of greater profit, license of the gambling site doesn't really matter. As long as they have good ang consistent protocols, they will have huge number of players.

Seek the legal advise because as far as I know online gambling still need a license even if you don’t want to. This is a serious business mate and you have to be serious on this one and don’t look for an easy way to achieve it better to be on a legal way. In my place you still have to follow the government rules but its not that hard so I’m confident if you have the money you can make a good gambling site.

As far as I'm aware, you don't need a gambling license for a strictly-crypto casino in most jurisdictions.

A gambling license is only necessary if you're going to be dealing with money transmitters, and offering lotteries dealing with fiat currencies.

As you might notice, the vast majority of popular crypto casinos aren't licensed. Not because they're skirting the law, but simply because they don't need a license.
This is actually right! Most of online casinos now doesnt have any license yet not all places on the world does have strict rules about gambling as long there's no such law that
do prohibits.

For answering op's question, then it would be much better if he do consult on some lawyer on his place for the purpose of verification about this matter, on what are the current
laws and rules about on building this business on said origin.

Planning to open an online bitcoin casino is really a great idea as long you have the enough funds to create one. I also think it is impossible for you to create a online casino if you don't have any license because no one would play on your site if you can't guarantee that your site is legal or legitimate.

Yes, it is better to have a license, so gamblers will not worry if we will scam them. It will be better if we can prove that our services are legit so they will comfort to play in our gambling site. The license will help us to get more and more gamblers to come and play on our website while they can spend more money, and that means we will make a big profit from gambling.

money is one of the recipe for making a gambling business but what if you live on a country that gambling is prohibited  ? still useless  . your money cant do anything if the government is not corrupt because you cant tip them to give a consideration like what other people and corrupt officials do  . also . site license would be nothing  if you your casino doesnt take to become the best   . small casino start without license too but they are only focusing on how to improve thier site and once they already have alot of base players  , that is the time they consider getting a license

Interesting suggestions that were given to you op and this will base on the particular location where you are residing right now. But if you I were you, if I can't avail to get a license then I will not start that casino. I'll save money until II can pay for a license. Safety first as they say. Don't pursue it if you can't right now but it's best to get a legal consultation so that it will be clear with whatever you're planning to do.

Today one could argue if a license for BTC casino is needed at all?
If you aim to open a fully lawfully casino whether its fiat or Bitcoin, yes you will require a gambling license in the majority of countries. As I stated above, even if you opened it in a country which doesn't require a license at all...

I fully agree with you and that is why my answer to the OP question in the first sentence of my post was:

Unfortunately, you can't run a casino without a license anywhere, even if it is a BTC casino...

When I already explained everything, just wanted to discuss hypothetical further if indeed today license is needed for BTC casinos?

Why?

...you would still need a license if your casino accepts deposits or withdrawals from other countries which require a license...

Exactly, that's why because one can argue if license is really needed, when we use only BTC for deposits and withdrawals or even Monero, Dash which is fully anonymous?

Especially casino that doesn't provide any information about their geological location and the trust is established by a really good working and verifiable provably fair system.

In such circumstances, when the trust problem is resolved, again there is no need for licensing to attract clients.

If one would be able to find a location where a gambling license is not needed, then maybe it could be possible to start such a casino and to be successful?

Personally, I would recommend doing some market research before you invest time and/or money into the endeavor.

Frankly, the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency casino industry is quite crowded right now, only platforms with a strong reputation, and enviable industry links will be able to survive these days. It might be worth speaking to the owners of a few prominent casinos and asking them what the challenges they face are, e.g. customer acquisition and retention, innovation and growth. I don't think that many casinos are worried able regulatory roadblocks simply because most regulatory bodies don't consider cryptocurrency casinos to be either money transmitter platforms or regulated gambling institutions.

Because of this, it might be worth doing a double-take and analyzing your prospects of success before you go up against the heavyweights in the industry. In any case, I believe that Malta is the best option for you, particularly if you want to get a license, since the malta gambling authority seems to be one of the less stringent bodies.

I am looking to open a new bitcoin casino.

I want to start off by opening an online bitcoin casino WITHOUT a license. I want to know what countries allow for this LEGALLY.

I plan to get a license in the future if my website gets some decent traffic.
For me, I would not like to play in an ILLEGAL (basically an illegal business if it is not yet registed or the owner don't want to legalize it) site to play, because when something happens I do not have any proof, or info on where do I file my case against the company, and the company will make this as their advantage only, they can run my funds and never comeback, when the time that people started know you have all the LEGAL DOCUMENTS , your website will surely have a heavy traffic, do not be so selfish learn to consider clients assurance as well.

Just looking at most of the online casinos operating today, you will notice that most of them are operating under the laws of Curacao. There are a lot of reasons for that and it is detailed here --> https://www.curacaowebhosting.com/2017/05/23/cost-gambling-license-curacao/

* more affordable
* less bureaucracy nonsense
* low tax incentives
* good legal protection

The option is always on the table to start a illegal operation and to test the water to see if your concept takes flight and then to shutdown the illegal operation and then to tweak it to look like something new and then to license it. The risk you take would be losing the user base you built for the site and not gaining them back, when you open the new site.  Tongue

The risk with operating without a license and getting shutdown and arrested is just as big, so you have to decide for yourself. I would much rather test the concept with a low cost license and then work from there.  Wink

I would highly suggest that you actually seek some legal aid in this case, and not just base yoru decisions off what people say.

There are a lot of jurisdictions which seem to have very lax regulations when it comes to operating a dice site or whatnot, but just because a casino right now is located there doesn't mean that it is legal to do so. There are a ton of unregulated casinos in the cryptospace that are up and running (and popular, for that matter), that aren't necessarily compliant.

It's much better to do your own research, and hire a law professional.

Many of the big operators find good small “states” like the Virgin Islands or Panama for example which have less requirements for you if you want to operate any online business and not just casinos. There not a lot of required documents in these heavens for new business owners but the credibility of your site will not be the best. The best casinos operate in Europe or USA without resorting to opening up a license in those places.

Oh really you want to operate online bitcoin casino without license? Are you are of that? Because I'm player and I want a Online Casino who habe license and if you want to start bitcoin Casino you should have capital for that.

Getting license for your gambling sites can atract the players because we are feeling safe and become more legit if you have that. Right now it's hard to trust new gambling sites what more for there is no license , just fix all you need to do and create and do what is really wants of the player and see your site will grow.

I think the license that you are talking about is the documents that required in order for you to legally operate in your country. I do not have information about countries that banned online casinos. If you will really want to build a new online casinos then you should handle the risk carefully. Online casinos have now stiff competition where it is hard for a new gambling sites to survive.

It probably won't matter as long as your casino doesn't get involved with any 3rd party advertisers or FIAT money itself.

Let's say you bought a hosting and a domain anonymously from an offshore hosting/domain company and paid your expenses with bitcoin... As long as you stay smart they cannot reach you. Your problems would start when you want your lambo and you already said before you reach that state you would get a licence so...

You can probably get away with it as long as you stay bitcoin only but you need to act super paranoiac about it. (use vpn's, mixers, throw away addresses etc)

I also found this:

It would seem to be nonsense if you were to make an unlicensed online gambling website. Websites do requires local government licenses if and only if you are making money out of it, like Facebook for example that at first and its beta testing doesn't require that much of jurisdictional paper works yet yesrs after it makes money it later then required to pay taxes in its local government. And unlicensed gambling platform isn't to be trusted at all. Even users would doubt using an unlicensed platforn and risk their money.

Most countries require you to pay for a license which is accepted through the gambling commission or to be able to provide access to other countries you will need to paid for individual licenses. For example, if you want to provide your services to the UK you have to have a license if you're operating in the UK or even in another country. There are some locations which have less restrictions than the UK, and I believe Isle of Mann is one of best options if you aim to provide a service to the UK population.

If you are allowing access to the United States this is a whole new can of worms. Basically, different states have different laws regarding gambling, and what type of license you require depends on that state. Some states are outright against gambling websites. Some countries have less restrictive licenses, but usually you will need a license which either covers multiple countries or several licenses for specific countries. There are countries which there are no licenses, however you still can't accept users from countries that require a license usually. Remember, that depending on the country you're operating in you will likely need to keep user data which means you could be subject to GDPR laws.

Opening a gambling website whether its remote or physical is a costly affair. In most countries avoiding a gambling license when it is required will land you in a lot of legal trouble.

Basically one can start operating a casino without a license, but since we are engage into business and we also look its long term success, it's better to registered it already so you won't have any changes in the future. Remember that you are carrying a name, and that name will be the face of your business, once that is ruined due to legality issues, you can easily loss your customers which you have been building for years.
You could theoretically open a casino without a license, but in the majority of countries you would be breaking the law which could result in your casino being closed, and the potential of other legal issues concerning you. You are required to apply for a gambling license in most countries before you even start earning money. Applying later when the casino has already launched, and has made an income would likely result in hefty fines, and possible rejection. When opening a gambling site its advised to talk to an attorney.

Remember, he said it is not a full casino, but some game where people compete to win money.
It doesn't matter if its not a full fledged casino or not. The gambling commission will likely treat the same. If the casino is open to the public, and advertisements have been made then it'll likely require a full license. If it was just a game between friends they usually don't care all that much.

Today one could argue if a license for BTC casino is needed at all?
If you aim to open a fully lawfully casino whether its fiat or Bitcoin, yes you will require a gambling license in the majority of countries. As I stated above, even if you opened it in a country which doesn't require a license at all you would still need a license if your casino accepts deposits or withdrawals from other countries which require a license.

You need license anyway. Nobody will trust you without it

he can run a casino without license but no credibility. just look at the gambling section. there are several casinos, dice sites or betting platforms that have no license yet. not even the curacao gaming license. and yet they are operating. only those gamblers that want to risk will play on that site. or they will try playing, but they will deposit small amount of money. and that is understandable for a substandard casino.
so i dont think the OP can attract traffic before acquiring his license. that only shows that he has no sufficient funds to hold this kind of business.

Remember, he said it is not a full casino, but some game where people compete to win money.

...I want to start off by opening an online bitcoin casino WITHOUT a license. I want to know what countries allow for this LEGALLY...
...Does using Bitcoin to gamble in some countries still prohibited by the government?... Enlighten me.

Unfortunately, you can't run a casino without a license anywhere, even if it is a BTC casino.

But...

Quote
A few reputable gambling jurisdictions already issue licenses to casinos accepting Bitcoin (notably, Curacao and the United Kingdom), which means they accept the responsibility of controlling operation of cryptocurrency websites. As long as the online casino is following the rules and regulations of the chosen jurisdiction, it operates legally.
https://www.softswiss.com/licensing/

As you can see OP, unfortunately, there is also no possibility to ask for a license later when casino is already running and got decent traffic.

I understand OP concerns/questions because many BTC casinos work without a license and are pretty successful. BTC changed everything and also has a lot of impact on the gambling industry.
To be honest, there are many jurisdictions were obtaining a gambling license is much easier and many times casinos open their business in these countries.
The main problem for FIAT online casinos were payment processors. They will not cooperate with any casino without a license and here comes BTC with help.

Today one could argue if a license for BTC casino is needed at all?

There is no need for payment processors because of BTC, so the main problem is resolved. Additionally, BTC is much better as FIAT because it is much more anonymous and payments are very fast compared to any payment processor. "On the other hand, a lot of players think about Bitcoin casino in the same way as any traditional online casino. They want to be sure that they bring their BTC to a reputable and secure online environment and that their rights are protected by an independent authority. In this case, a valid gambling license from one of the gaming licensing jurisdictions becomes an important marketing tool that contributes to player loyalty and considerably increases the casino’s reputation".

To summarise everything OP could easy-open a BTC casino without a license and make it operational. The important thing is that licenses cost a lot of money and time which is a huge entry barrier. The licensing process is not easy because of requirements, costs, taxation policy and application processing time. Casino software has to meet the requirements of the jurisdiction. Licensing bodies in different jurisdictions pose various requirements to the software used by the casino. Incorporate a legal entity in the required jurisdiction, certificate of no criminal record from the police and much more.

Here all jurisdictions which issue gambling licenses.

Countries that allows online gambIing are mostly in Asia like Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and China. But i don't think it will be difficult for you to create and gain money from online bitcoin casino if you don't have any license because it is really required for a person to have licensure to know if your site is legitimate or can be trusted.

Interesting suggestions above.

I wonder what people will do if Crypto-based casino license becomes impossible to obtain in the future.

I think I will simply obtain the best/safe gambling laws from any country or different countries and code the rules (mixed with my best/safe rules) on a decentralized gambling platform. This is probably one of the best ways to keep cryptospere lively and safe when such time comes

Here's what I have found. Different countries were listed here and their gambling status whether casinos are legal, illegal, or not regulated.

https://simonsblogpark.com/onlinegambling/simons-guide-online-gambling-legal-status-laws

I think it's hard to find a country that doesn't require a license with online casino especially when gambling is legal in that country.  But I hope this can help you find a country that you are looking for.
Also, you said you're still a student, are you sure you want to open an online bitcoin casino? Wouldn't it be a hindrance to focus on your studies?

I also do not want to do anything illegal.

remember that in Gambling Online legitimacy and trust is what you will be needing before gaining players and investors.

if you cannot even provide Licence (In which will surely be checked by legit gamblers first before putting their money inside your site)how would go gather true traffic from Players?

what you need for starters :

Trust proof(s) : casinos online or not , are like banks , what u got there ?
Audience : are you already famous ? or what u plan to do about ?
Capital : can you show us (potential costumers) the Money ?  Grin
Resources : did you have domain_name(s) , server(s) , software , right people to run your casino ?
Vision : there are thousands already working Casinos , what more you can offer to us ?

sadly enough , list is way too long my friend , but we can try still !

Operating without a license. That is basically what you mean, right? But you will secure a license when the traffic is already reaching a decent amount? That seems to be inconsistent to me. I am not familiar with gambling laws in different jurisdictions but I doubt if there is a country that allows gambling operations to run for free in the beginning and then require a license later on.

By the way, here are certain points by a company offering "professional assistance and support in obtaining an online gambling license" of why a license is important.[1]

  • It warrants the casino operator’s trustworthy behavior and commitment to a fair gaming policy.
  • A license is also an indicator of transparency in business operations and security of the gaming software offered to customers.
  • Better reputation in the eyes of players and customer loyalty.
  • Ability to set up a merchant account in a bank.

I deeply share those points especially for the users' safety. Please note that I am not in any way affiliated with them or endorsing them. I just found them online.
