I have the Bitcoin client and I have bitcoins in a wallet. All I want to do is sell these bitcoins for US dollars. It seems like an impossibility at this point. FastCash4Bitcoins looked promising except that I could never catch them when they had funds available and now their website has simply disappeared. I joined Coinbase and got my bank account verified but now I cannot find out how to transfer the bitcoins to my Coinbase account in order to sell them. This information is not on the site and they have not responded to my email message. Someone mentioned Dwolla but their help section has absolutely nothing about bitcoins.

So if someone here could inform me of someplace where I can sell my bitcoins for US dollars it would be much appreciated.

Thanks
There are two ways by using them you can sell your Bitcoins for USD:-
1) You can use an exchange to convert your Bitcoins into USD and if you want to Use an exchange then I suggest you to use Localbitcoins.com Exchange.
2) You can Go to the Currency Exchange Section of this forum and Find a reputable exchanger there and don't forget to hire a escrow for your Safety.

I have heard you can do this safely on virwox and to a lesser extent paxful.
It all depends what method of payment you would want really.
Virwox is safe and secure, especially for paypal, but the fees are extremely high, It is really hard to make profit if you are trading this way.
A better idea would be to find a trusted trader on localbitcoins for example. They'll not scam you and offer good rates.

You can exchange them to USD in this forum here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 to any other USD based payment processor.
Or use your local trusted exchanger in your country.
But you should warn to not choose anyone to do this exchange because of high risk of fraud happening there now. Especially with paypal or reversible processors.

It would be better to not sell them. However if you decide to sell make sure you do a very strict research on the website you want to sell.

Coinbase, Circle, Bitstamp and Localbitcoins are some of the most well known websites to help you achieve that.

If you want to go somewhere else not long ago a few exchanges popped up in the service discussion  here and the only transaction they did was scam someone even with very low quantity.

Always use well known and famous websites for such thing.

Coinbase, Circle, Bitstamp don't support all countries worldwide, while Localbitcoins still the best because it's open worldwide (or at least for the most countries).
But as you noticed , selling the coins should be the last choice.

You can sell your bitcoins from exchange website where you are going to make a good profit when you are going to sell it from exchange because you can doo trading also there from another coins. Also in localbitcoins is really good and trusted website too. Or find a client from your country and then meet up.

i think you should be careful when you want to sell your bitcoin and you should choose the only recommended seller, in this forum or even in outside like localbitcoin or other site, because when you send the bitcoin amount, you can get it back if the bad thing is happen. i will give the advice for you, better you find your own friends in around you so you can feel safety when you want to sell your bitcoin, and i am sure that you can find your friends with easy like me.

There is no danger in selling bitcoins on localbitcoins.com because there is a built-in escrow system, you are holding the bitcoins until the buyer sends the money to you, you will get them in minutes if you are using a bank account for receiving the funds, i personally never tried any other methods except bank transfer which always went smooth.

You can sell you bitcoin for USD in yobit, net with current price. And after you sell the bitcoin, you can withdraw USD from yobit to
OkPay fee (2%), PerfectMoney fee (2%), Payeer fee (5%). I hope this will help you. Thankyou

Well man I think you can sell bitcoins for USD at yobit.  Grin It would be easier to sell at yobit since it has a good user interface. Besides that it got an easy to click buy and sell button and set buy and sell button.  Grin
What the hell?
Does anybody uses yobit for selling bitcoins? i think that is a crazy idea,it is not worth it.
You better convert it to fiat at some other exchanges, the really trusted one's that are in this business for a long time.

xCoins.io is better than Virwox. The transaction is straight forward, PayPal for bitcoin, no other steps. It's also quick. Takes minutes to get bitcoin.

Or, if someone needs to convert bitcoin to PayPal, they can do it and earn a fee for each conversion. The site acts as in intermediary, tracks the payment, and provides an agreement for both parties. Risk of payment reversal is lower than on other platforms.

You don't have any trust rating here in Bitcointalk. And even if you had a positive trust almost none of the guys here will exchange their Bitcoins for Paypal. Why can't you use Western Union or some other method?
Yeah its always a bad idea to do p2p (person to person) paypal stuff without a third party. Virwox is the only way I know but it sucks (fees too high).

Buying / Selling BTC through VirWox is a bit complicated. First you have to convert your fiat / BTC to Linden Dollars. You cant directly convert BTC to USD or USD to BTC. So you will have to pay the fee twice. Not an attractive option.

Linden Dollars is game money, you can play with it. I dont like this idea for a exchange

From another post:

May be a little OT but in case you don't need USD as FIAT:

Check out BitShares BitUSD (http://whatisbitusd.com)

BitUSD is pegged to the value of real USD. That means 1 BitUSD today will be worth 1 real USD tomorrow, without issuing an IOU.

Some highlights:

► Earns Interest - Current Yield 2.08% (https://bitsharesblocks.com/assets/market)

► No Counterparty Risk

► Blockchain Secure

Exchange for BTC either through Shapeshift.io or the internal exchange metaexchange.info

BTW: if you want to play around with BitShares, I run a giveaway on bitsharestalk: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,14780.0.html

Hi, i have not used Bitstamp but with yacuna.com no problems, you need identity verification . You can also do it in ATMs , but the daily and monthly amount is very small, about 600 USD a day (in my country). In xapo.com also need identity verification. In Payza.com also need to verify your identity and you can only withdraw 20,000 USD per transaction.

Greetings.

I can recommend the new BIT-X debit card. Easy and reliable to use. You can also sell your Bitcoins @ BIT-X for a normal bank wire.

BIT-X debit card have high fees but for signature campaign emrollees and for first 1,000(or 10,000) will be charged with lesser fees.

I recommend BTC-e if you are using a debit/credit card to buy Bitcoins.

For the best margins, I`d say here on the currency exchange thread, but only go with trusted escrow like thedevdev or tomatoecage, etc.

But, if you think finding an escrow is a hassle, you can always visit localbitcoins.com which you can find an ad and do it in cash by person.

I personally feel thats the best way, but its based on preference. People mentioned coinbase, I`d avoid coinbase since their support lacks a lot and you`ll go through restriction measures that most people fail to mention.

They have very good prices, the site is simple to use (it's perfect for people like me who prefer easy solutions instead of overloaded with graphics, but hard to handle websites)
I used it few times, every time I had my dollars very quickly appeared on paypal.

First time I only sold 0,5 BTC to make sure everything is ok, now I selling more.

It is bad that people still have massively this problem.
Deposit bitcoins into coinbase is easy and you can sell if your account is verified. You have other exchanges like bitstamp btc-e btc china to exchange your btc for fiat but don't trust them with all your bitcoins at once.

if you are in the US i recommend using coinbase also localbitcoins.com is a good place to sell to USD
remember when selling to a person on forum or like that use escrow and trade with someone who is trusted since BTC payment is irreversible and USD can be reversible

Also don't forget, as a last resort you can use https://localbitcoins.com/

That can't get shut down because it's not a company you're dealing with to trade bitcoins.

That is your best option IMO

I'd say use;
BTC-E, Bitstamp or Bitcoin Exchanger.
They're all fairly reliable and work fast.
Good luck.

Bitcoin-Brokers will arrange to have cash deposited into your bank account (USA only).

Paid above Bitstamp rates for your bitcoin.

Here is a 40,000 view review thread for Bitcoin-Brokers:

I WANNA BUY BITCOINS FOR $..my email is [email protected]

Don't hesitate to use an exchange like bitstamp.net or btc e (or even mt.gox).
You can also try https://localbitcoins.com/ or CoinBase if you are American.

Trade with btc-e, mtgox, bitstamp.net. Or just trade in the marketplace just beware with scammer.
I recommend using an escrow or trading with high rep members here.

Just trade it on btc-e

Yeha but I think you have to have over a hundred dollars to withdraw so better trade bigger amounts.

I've used coinbase and it takes awhile but has low fees and is based in the US so I trust it.
How do you transfer bitcoins from your wallet to your coinbase account in order to sell them?

You'll have to look up an address associated with your Coinbase account. You can find this under Account Settings->Integrations, toward the bottom of the page.

Copy an existing address, or create a new one. In Bitcoin-Qt, go to the Send coins tab, and paste in the address you got from Coinbase. I like to send a smaller amount first just to test for any painful copy-and-paste errors, then send the rest when the smaller amount goes through.

Will selling BTC for cash ever become difficult/impossible or will there always be someone willing to buy them, regardless of the price?

Thanks
