Highest APY? How high are we talking about? Those coins you listed are all good altcoins but I doubt they have high staking APY, start from Binance exchange see if anything goes wrong binance is capable of refunding all funds back this is why I trust this exchange more than any, the second one I used is kucoin exchange, they have emergency funds just in case something goes wrong, look into these two

as what mk4 also mentioned above, binance is like my go-to if i want to stake or earn interest with some coins, where i will have at least peace of mind. binance has their SAFU in place, so in case of hacking, your funds are assured that you will get it back. this is i believe the edge of binance. don't look for high APY, because most platforms offering high APY may disappear without a trace. so better consider the security of your funds first rather than prioritise the percentage of APY that you will get.

Hello, I am looking for the best places to stake ALGO, CRO, TEZOS, VET, and THETA coins. I'd be holding them for several months and would need a platform with the highest APY and least fees. And one that is SAFE of course, no history of being hacked. What would you all recommend?
Use this service : https://www.stakingrewards.com/ this is monitoring of all platforms, study everything yourself and choose the best offers.no one will give you guarantees here, all investments will be at your own risk.

~ A few examples are LUNA, THETA, DERACE, UFO Gaming, and ATLAS. Any suggestions on what to do about coins like these are appreciated. Not necessarily for staking, but how/where to keep them safe.
Ledger also supports Theta.

I understand that you've been discouraged from the hack but Metamask is still one of the best and most convenient wallet for most types of tokens. You can still use it as temporary storage until your tokens are already supported by hardware wallets. Maybe you can also try https://mycrypto.com/

Tip: Don't ever connect your web wallet to any website to reduce the risk of exploits.

Thank you all so much! I also have other coins I want to stake like MATIC, ADA, and DOT and I read that they can be staked thru AllNodes on Trezor wallet, which I have (Trezor). I've never heard of AllNodes til now. Thoughts on that?

As for the originally mentioned ALGO and TEZOS, I think I will go ahead and buy a Ledger and stake there. Rewards aren't as high, but I get the benefits of being able to stake AND having the coins on a hard wallet. I will chance it and stake CRO in my crypto.com wallet.

For the coins supported by both Ledger AND Trezor, I'll just compare the 2 to see which offers the highest APY and least fees, and go w/ that.

Other than that I am opting to leave my coins off "hot wallets". I've already been hacked once (thru Metamask) and it just isn't worth it.

The only thing is I have so many coins that AREN'T supported by Ledger or Trezor, and not quite sure "how" to protect them. A few examples are LUNA, THETA, DERACE, UFO Gaming, and ATLAS. Any suggestions on what to do about coins like these are appreciated. Not necessarily for staking, but how/where to keep them safe.

For Tezos and Algo, Ledger supports these two in staking. So, you still hold your coins and you're keeping it on a trusted hardware wallet without worrying about your staked coins. Check the details about staking them there.

On Cro, the highest that you can earn interest with that token is on its own platform, crypto.com.

The best is probably own platform of those coins that have staking features. But technically I saw some of the list on Binance savings.

Risk is a part of entering the crypto market. If you don't want to risk then might forget entering this business. There will always a risk. Don't listen to those fudders. If major centralized is scam then why the hell the users there are probably more than users here? So those people who uses binance (including me and some[MOST actually]) are stupid? Idon't think so. They just prefer btc but to tell not to use an exchange like that is totally a fud.

Anyway we have different opinion here. I'm an altcoin enthusiast and I suggest only what I experience. If there is a chance for Binance to scam anyone its likely not mroe than 50%.

They pretty much just take a small cut off staking in exchange for ease-of-use and convenience.
Probably yes, but the convenient of being a newbie to do this staking isnt hurting those small fee.

In the past months most shitcoins have lost between 10 to 40% of their value against bitcoin and will continue losing value.
If altcoin is a shitcoin, then I am proud investing on some of it. Gladly hold my $200 worth of shitcoin avax with its early price. I wonder how much now it is if I bought btc instead during that time. I'm pretty sure I didn't loss 40% but gained more than invested in 188x as of this writing.

OP some would warned you, but I suggest dont listen only to those who think they know everything if you already learned the basics and tell them they are not correct all the time.

Lest you forget: Not your keys Not your coins.

No centralized platform is safe, they all have gotten hacked or will get hacked soon and you will be the one who has to endure the losses. Not just that, they can rob you themselves whether by scamming you or simply closing your account for whatever reason including but not limited to your activity and "coin taint".

Besides you are also taking another big risk for bag holding shitcoins specially in long run. In the past months most shitcoins have lost between 10 to 40% of their value against bitcoin and will continue losing value.

If you're not technically literate enough to be using non-custodial staking(like actual straight on-chain staking), then you're probably better off staking on platforms like Binance. They pretty much just take a small cut off staking in exchange for ease-of-use and convenience.
