There are many altcoins who have joined the party and are doing good. Shit coins won't be part of this bull run and will stay away from this. Always invest in solid projects that have tendency to go up with BTC.

Alcoin must be useful that its price would grow in future. It is necessary to create demand in tokens that its price would grow.
There are ecological projects. https://moss.earth/blog/ here is written how it is importatn to protect a nature and what already have been done.
It is very important to protect the nature and I think that in future the demand in ecological projects will grow.

The stage belongs to Bitcoin and the coin trends NFT.  Altcoins will soon be promoted as Bitcoin has a more stable value.  I often observe the BTC.D chart to predict when to buy altcoin.  I think April will be the time when Altcoin has the strongest price increase.
Usually in March every year Bitcoin will drop in price but this year Bitcoin has reached new ATH.  This process takes longer for the cash flow in Bitcoin to become more stable and to the altcoin flow.
For April to be a good month to buy altcoin and increase (well buying now and profiting in april is better) bitcoin price must be a bit more stable. We have faced a drop from 58k to 43k to increase back to 60k, that type of bitcoin movement prevents altcoins to go up, look at altcoins right now, most of them are further away from their recent ATH right now, while bitcoin is above it. That is why you are right that there could be a big huge altcoin rally in April, but in order for that to happen, we need to make sure bitcoin is in 55k-65k range for the next 1 month, if it can stay in that range that means we could have altcoin range.

This is of course not guaranteed, I do not know if there is anything that could end up happening to bitcoin or not, we still do not know, look at what happened today, it is a clear indication that it may not be enough to get into altcoins.

Few old projects have made the ATH, like enj, doge, bnb, eth but most of the old projects are still far away from the ATH. Can we call the current situation bullrun for altcoin?  I think no. Most of the times, it’s the affect of bitcoin rise.
So, when are we having altcoin bull where altcoin will be outperforming bitcoin? Or no more such things happening at all?
Altcoin bull run can happen at any time, but have you ever realized that altcoin bulls will never be able to jump over the price of bitcoin. because the position of bitcoin is very high in crypto and any increase or decrease in altcoins is affected by crypto. so when you hope altcoin bull and jump over bitcoin it will never happen until whenever.

The ALTCOIN season will come it’s just with time , we can have patience till then, for now we have got to focus more on bitcoin, since Bitcoin has been increasing big investors has been more focused on it and they keep on investing huge amounts of money into it daily.

They never mind the price, even at this high rate they are still buying it and pumping the price to go further, I even saw news today trending on twitter that Microstrategy invested a million worth of dollars in Bitcoin recently. With such news trending daily, it will be attracting more retail investors to be investing and also more whales.

I think we still verry far from that. Maybe it will happen in the end of Q2. Right now i think we will keep seeing our portofolio keep dropping because of market correction. Let's wait for the Biden stimulus i think the price will rise a lil bit.

Maybe you invested in the wrong altcoins. On Coingecko, almost every day all altcoins are in the green and adding a good percentage. The altcoin season is in full swing and this is just the beginning of the bull run. Now I am watching bitcoin I think from March 9 it is in the accumulation zone and will soon make a breakthrough upwards. After that altcoins will go even higher.

One can not say these coins rise due to the BTC rise. You must ask yourself why not other altcoins rise. These old coins rise just because of their potential not because of Bitcoin otherwise these will also drop like other altcoins. I agree many of the good altcoins are still struggling and I won't say currently altcoins are in bull mode. I don't expect this time that altcoins will outperform BTC. I hope sooner we will see altcoins bull run but can not say it will be like BTC or not.
All altcoins show a very high correlation with bitcoin, which means that they move in an incredibly similar manner, the only exceptions are stable coins which have a negative correlation in terms of bitcoin, to me altcoin seasons are going to get more rare as time goes on as the dominance of bitcoin becomes evident, the dominance that you see in websites like CMC is deceiving, bitcoin is way more dominant than that and I think we are seeing this with the absence of altcoin bull runs.

It is true that there are some old projects that have not returned to ATH prices until now, but that is not an indication that altcoins are not yet bullish.
Because based on my analysis, altcoins have experienced bullrun, I said this looking at some of the top altcoins that have hit ATH prices this year.
This means that bullrun has occurred, but it hasn't been experienced by all the altcoins. Just be patient I'm sure this year all the altcoins will be bullrun,
it's just a matter of time waiting for their turn.

Low volume altcoins bullrun will be starting after the high volume altcoins. Already I earned a good USD from all of my investment. Even if we invest now, you won't lose your money. Definitely new altcoins are the best choice, if we invest now.

I was expecting there will be an outstretched altcoin price since bitcoin is now above $60k compared to the 2017 bull run season when bitcoin price only hits $20k and there was a massive skyrocketing of altcoin price. This time around we are only seeing only top coins on a high volume.
This simply means that bitcoin will forever lead the crypto sphere when the rest follows

because this bull run is not same like the past, wich mean not all altcoins will growing buddy
and i believe altseason already running now

Considering those new projects and those thousands of alt coins inside the market, logic dictates

that only those solid and reliable projects are capable of gaining the attentions of the investors.

For now, there are many old and new projects that already pumped some already exceed from

Yes, and it would be good if this rally could continue for a very long time, because in current market conditions some people can still get daily profits through the trades they do and I personally feel the same way.
of course, it will last a long time. as long as no one releases large amounts of their bitcoins. obviously, it could correct happen in the market. but when the altcoin's ability is good enough, it can be an advantage for altcoins to increase their dominance in the market.
daily trading and short-term investment like you will definitely be very profitable with market conditions like today. but it can all happen if it is well planned.

I agree, I think Alt season still hasn't started yet. I don't know when Altcoin bull will happen, April? Mei? or the end of Desember? it may take a little longer I guess. I think the bull market will occur during 2021. If we look at the market Bitcoin still hasn't given a chance for Alt season.

Massive type of Alt season isn't started yet as all top altcoins isn't pump that much which is expected by the community for those individual coins/tokens. But we can say that mini alt season is already on the moves as some alts already performed more than 4x from the lowest price of recent bear market. BTW, maybe 2020 will be the year of alt season and bitcoin's dominance might decrease within this year, IMO.

It's quite easy to see that dude and you should visit CMC and then try to click on the tab gainers and loosers and see what happened with it.
It's only altcoin season but whole season already started since last year and this time crypto is growing steadily based on the regular news that was always coming to the crypto.
We already in 2021 and that's a non sense thing when you keep saying that it will be coming in 2021.
The market already faced the big bullish trend and almost all of legit coins were touching its new ATH. that proves bullish trend for altcoin already happened.
the altcoin bull trend is probably already underway. currently, some altcoin trading has also seen a lot of improvement. even assets with low value have increased.
The altcoin bull trend is underway, and I believe this rally will last quite a while given the increasing trend in the adoption of the altcoin market.
This time the bull market is being used by several projects to make updates. and of course, a positive response will be received from their community.

A lot of the old and established altcoins that had their ATH back in January 2018 like NEO, IOTA or Dash are nowhere close to that now.
In the last 3 years a lot of new projects emerged and some of them probably do stuff better than the old coins. Those established coins really need to up their development and/or public relation management to keep track and to don't slowly fade away into irrelevance.
Also i don't really want a Altcoin Run like back in 2018 with  BTC dominance going down to 30%. That was just not healthy and caused a long bear market.

But at the moment I see that the market has started to slowly improve, so that the average Altcoin is already in the green zone again, is this the end of a correction or will there be further corrections in the near future?
Market has improved since Q4 of 2020. And then it spills out to 2021 and we've seen the market going into bull run already. I don't know why others is seeing that the altcoin market is not is a bullish phase. We have seen major coins getting into ATH already. But the difference is that there are no shitcoins today in this bull run, except for some pump and dump.

I think the correction that occurred is just a market game to stabilize the dominance of bitcoin in the market.
the correction will definitely continue, but we also see the recovery continues. remember this market has not received a long correction. and the current rally in the market is still going on. bitcoin and many altcoins are still strong with their current value. Just because the price of some other old coins has risen to reach the new ATH does not mean that everything should be the same, the market is not like that.  There are also many old coins that are almost useless and their plans are unrealistic so you will not want to buy coins like this if you think that it has no potential and not a promising project.  Yes, there are some coins that gain a higher percentage in 24 hours or an hour higher than Bitcoin, but it cannot be changed that it will surpass Bitcoin in dominance.

You are right. Even though most of the crypto hit their all-time high values, still there are a few out there which are awaiting some momentum. I believe, those should have some developments pending or not in the reach of real investors or traders. And this also shows that bitcoin and other alt prices are not deviating their prices. They are on their own.
FYi these days investors and traders are only choosing the coin based on how good progress already made by the team. The fact that so many times the legit coins getting pumped again and again.
These days people were doing so many analyzations to make sure if they were choosing the right coin.

I think altcoins cannot replace bitcoins, because when botcoins go up we don't care about altcoins, because when bitcoin goes up some altcoins also go up.  indirectly bitcoin also has an influence on altcoins, there are also altcoins that go up not because of bitcoin but because the coin has the potential to reach its ATH.  I hope to see altcoins experiencing a bullrun soon and maybe it can make altcoins better even though it won't be like bitcoin.
So true, altcoin market is damn too much slow comparing bitcoin move. Few altcoins received massive boost though, however I firmly believe that the next few weeks we will see some big changes which lead the alt market. Anyway, this is completely my point of view and in crypto anything can happen.
Today, much attention is focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as those projects that have made a huge splash in the cryptocurrency market in recent years, such as half a cadot. I believe the altcoin season will be the same as it is now, lifting the altcoin slowly but surely.

...so when it comes to old altcoins only the ones that are the most solid and that have the most recognition have any chance of breaking their previous all time highs.
I second that as well, like Ethereum as an example, imo, it's pretty different from other coins considering how stable eth has been for the past couple of years, and thus as expected it broke it's former all time high during this Bitcoin bull run, having said that, most of these altcoins are pump and dump coins, so they basically just dump after their hype, and there's no way to expect them to break their all time high, even as investors await the altcoin bull run, it should be expected only from altcoins that have a good ecosystem and that is somewhat sustainable in the long run.
I think that another problem is with the name itself, an altcoin bull run, some people think that just because some some altcoins are going up that the coins they are holding will go up as well, and this is not the case, there are thousands of altcoins and while there are few decent ones released each year for the most part as you say we find nothing but pump and dump coins, people keep them thinking the day will come another altcoin bull run will appear and the price of their coins will go up but no one cares about such coins, they have failed already and only those that were good will rise in value once again.

I think you are talking about the phase when BTC starts to cool-off while a few Alts start to pump. The Alts basically rise in relation to BTC and you can then swap Alts for more BTC.

This doesn't seem to be happening this time around. During the past ATH, BTC kept rising in dollar terms and a lot of Alts also did the same while remaining at parity with BTC. We are seeing a new ATH just going into this weekend. There has also been news about SEC investigation into Binance. The scenario is ripe for either a capitulation OR another bullrun if the market sustains the momentum through this bit of bad news.

That means another bull-run for everything in dollar terms. If you are hoping for an Alt-coin bull run against BTC, I don't think that is coming. That happening would actually be an indication of an impending bear market, imo.

I will suggest to invest in new listed altcoins which one listed in a few months or will be listed in a few months. I can't find a altcoins to invest between 200 altcoins, but you think only a few altcoins tasted this bull run pump. Almost every single altcoins is in on the making market.
New good projects mostly pump from 10% - 100% pump so that can be a good option for investment and if you’re lucky enough to see more good projects, you’r better grab that opportunity because that’s very rare to happen.

Altcoin bull happened already, and right now we are testing the trend if we’re going to sustain this kind of up trend or we’re going down now, the time can tell but you can start preparing for now.

Many new projects that needs deep analysis in which more time that can be have a huge potential to increase and can be demand in the world of crypto currency. In the first place we can't guarantee that can be have a huge profit or in worst case the project will not reach the target value. Somehow we take a risk in someway, just like what happened nowadays that the bitcoin is so huge value and we hope those altcoins that we have will increase also but only time can tell and we must wait unitl it come.

Old altcoins have established a good reputation already and that's the reason why most investors chose to invest with them. However, we might not notice their increase during the ath but I'm sure that the altcoin season isn't over yet. There are still lots of things that might happen soon.

Thats gonna happened whether we like it or not. Usually altcoin bull run is different and weren't gonna rely on the bitcoin movement. Yes majority of altcoins now have increase and now above their ATH but also some haven't, its made clear that the bull run is not for every body, let say people also see which one to grab and bought right? Choose a good altcoin and definitely that will be a huge advantage when the bull season is ready to roll.

Or maybe we haven't recognize clearly the altcoin bull run it's because we are looking for a bull run like for bitcoin which is a 200% higher than the dumped state or more than that. But to be honest seeing the market value of Altcoins today like ETH, BNB, PolkaDOT and LTC i guess this altcoins were made it to bull run. This altcoins were already valuable compared on their past market value and what's more good about it was this altcoins are also worth to invest too.

all old undertakings will run by their ATH as 2017. A significant number of the top performing coins from earlier years are not proceeding also at this moment, and a considerable lot of the new coins took the spotlight. On the off chance that there's no advancement on the coin, its simply unadulterated theory. Back in 2017 was additionally when ICOs were blasting yet just around 5-10% have really succeeded. Regardless of whether were in a bull run, not every one of the alts will siphon as it did. In any case, after a BTC siphon its at that point time for the altcoins to sparkle.

I like LTC just because of its branding. (btc gold, ltc silver thing) What other feature LTC has other than being a little bit faster? Nothing. XMR is kind of cool but the markets don't see it that way I guess.
LTC is implementing MimbleWimble, it’s testnet is running as far as I know. So, it’s speculated that MW implementation will be the killing update and it will boost up LTC price to $500 in no time. And, regarding XMR, I'm really not much surprised. Despite privacy coins are being popular, there are more regulation which can be the reason if privacy coins not getting pumped.

...Can we call the current situation bullrun for altcoin?  I think no. Most of the times, it’s the affect of bitcoin rise...

All altcoins, including those listed by you, despite the fact that they have reached ATH are still far from their high against the dollar. I believe that the beginning of the altcoin season can only be considered when their price will rise not only against the dollar, but also against bitcoin.

Because some old projects don't even have the reason to exist if there's that prolonging coin that will surely do the same as what you mentioned in the OP.
Indeed most of it are affected in Bitcoin's price movement, and I can see that in my own vision as a crypto investor.
When I think of buying, I feel like having a quick peek in the alts if there's more opportunity to buy at. I see ETH and all the following coins and then I do buy for ETH then might not consider buying coins in the lower rankings.

I guess the altcoin is not yet getting another bull run as the altcoin is not increased so high.
Maybe the altcoin needs more time to wait for the price can start to increase.
I am sure the altcoin will get its turn to increase and I guess that the altcoin season can come in this year.
Maybe after bitcoin breaks $60k, the altcoin will get the time to increase, and once it is coming, many altcoins will have a chance to lift the price.
While we are waiting for that moment, we can buy more amount of the altcoin that we think the coin can increase so high in the future.

...so when it comes to old altcoins only the ones that are the most solid and that have the most recognition have any chance of breaking their previous all time highs.

I don't think it has started yet, as for the altcoin or the market we cannot expect growth like in the past, since the market participants have a lot of knowledge about this market, so only the new projects are highly appreciated.
Not all new projects can be appreciated by everyone at this time, even some of them are new projects with unclear hype and form, so it would be very risky if such a project was valued at a high value.
a new project arrives, pumps then dump for a long time.
it's not all like that. some new projects still have a strong market because they build them in a strong market as well as support from a strong community.
but it was true, more of them just created hype, then left.

Just wait for it, for it will surely come. We get to see that alts rally once Bitcoin exhausts itself on the dominance chase. The market dominance data is my constant reference to check if the tides are changing. Whenever Bitcoin drops in price I check its dominance and if it remains at over 55%, then I get reassured that the Bitcoin bull hasn't come to an end. This has been my guide. Alts will begin to bull when Bitcoin begins to dip. What we see with certain alts pumping now is just a flash, and not the real bull run for alts. Wait for it, for the alts run will surely come.

well, for some altcoins, maybe their Bullrun has arrived and hit a new ATH. it was due to a boost in the price of bitcoin. however, we don't know when altcoins will outgrow bitcoin. So far, I don't think that's going to happen. because when bitcoin collapses, it will bring in altcoins. however, the potential for Bullrun for altcoins is still quite large this year, especially the popular altcoins.

I think the conditions of the market has changed dramatically and with them the possibility for altcoins in general to make an altcoin bull run. We must understand that for the most part a great deal of the growth in the market of altcoins depends on hype and most commonlypeople get hyped about new projects, so when it comes to old altcoins only the ones that are the most solid and that have the most recognition have any chance of breaking their previous all time highs.

It's good to see that altcoin market is much more independent from Bitcoin and each other than they were in 2017. Coins are selectively rising and falling depending upon their performance and events. Today Flow even topped bitcoin on marketcap to reach number one in coinmarketcap. Whether it was a glitch or an actual rise, it did showed that even new and less known coins can topple the list.

It's possible that no such thing will happen again.
All eyes are on the popular coins right now and if ever there is one that will bloom out of the bush the percentage is too low.
That era that we are expecting is long forgotten.
I don't think we will ever see that again if we also consider the fact that many stable coins are being created and that where all the funds go whenever they want to make a profit instead of putting it with altcoins. That's the life of altcoins before that had been taken away.

only a few of them are rising the rest are still buried. this is because most of the investors back in 2017 had already learned which one is worth investing in. most are just buying BTC and ETH and a few wannabe ETH. some altcoins are testing the patience of their investors just when they bought ADA, it also dips while the ones they sold for ADA rise again. in the long run we will still be seeing the prices go up because BTC is going up but not really an altcoin bull run so to say because its just the satoshi value that appreciates.

Bull run for altcoins are already happening as most coins already made more than 10 times gains. Some old altcoins didn't move much because they don't offer something significant. There are new coins in the market and hype is around them logically. If a coin have no use case then there is no reason for it to be pumped 10 times, especially when it has too many bagholders.

As you can see , there are tons of projects that are valuated very highly. Unfortunately not all altcoins are made the same, not all altcoins are booming and most likely will not boom. But there is a chance that money will trcikle down in to smaller coins when bitcoin will stabilase or go down.

That's point. These days the pump will be based on the performance that showed by altcoin. Only legit coins that is boming right now and people will not try to make the same mistake again by pumping all of shitcoins at the same time.
Even whales are also choosing which shitcoin that reliable to be pumped. BTW these days people are so crazy to take the legit coins as their investment in the crypto currency.
The altseason is real and it's not only a dream

It's quite disappointing I focused on the altcoin in the bear market, hoping back then I will have a good profit when the bull run sets in, but unfortunately all my hope did not materialize, some of them are even going down, I'm still hoping I believe we still a whole year of bull run, and many of the altcoins I'm holding will reach another all-time high of their own.

because this bull run is not same with the past mate,

Some altcoins are already outperformed bitcoin over the past months, but we can’t expect that to happen to all altcoins since not all are good enough to do that and only few can make it.

Right now, we’re on a big market correction and I think its about time to face the incoming bear and do the necessary things during this kind of trend. Stop looking for altcoin bull, start looking for opportunities and start buying.

You are just being impatient and that is understandable, most of altcoin holders including me are just waiting on the sidelines and seeing the market my personal assumption is that alt season will happen in the months of august to october and before that it will be all btc, eth and some other top coin show.
Will it? Because back in 2017 there were a lot of new people hitting the crypto space. A lot of retailers and my grandma - It was the first time my family talked about crypto during christmas 2017. They were all trying to find the next Bitcoin, Ethereum or even IOTA. I don't really see them going back into crypto this year. Especially with a pandemic going on. Besides, investors are a lot smarter nowadays, so I really doubt there will be an alt season in august or october. I hope I'm wrong though!

Question : Has there been a time that altcoins performed bitcoin? I have not noticed that because bitcoin always have a bull before any other including etheruem. And during less volatility, then altcoins take turn. In 2017 the bull was all about bitcoin and currently now, example with bnb which has performed very well during last two weeks but bitcoin is still more higher in performance.

What did you think, that Peercoin* (PPC) was also going to make a new ATH just because BTC did? (*PPC is just an example, insert your favorite dead shitcoin there) They cannot make a new ATH at the same time, that's impossible. Some projects will eventually die. That's inevitable. And after this bull run, you will never hear about some of the best alts of this bull run in the next bull run.
It's not about dead shitcoin. Look at the top 100 coins in coinmarketcap (if any projects other than BTC is shitcoin, then they are too). From the top 100 coins, without calculation, I'm sure 50% of the old project didn’t make the ATH including LTC, NEO, TEZOS, XLM etc.

You do have a point. Monero didn't make a new ATH just like LTC and these are my favorite alts and I don't consider them shitcoins. But on the other hand, I might be wrong too. Just because I see them legit projects it doesn't mean they really are. I like LTC just because of its branding. (btc gold, ltc silver thing) What other feature LTC has other than being a little bit faster? Nothing. XMR is kind of cool but the markets don't see it that way I guess.

You are right, some good alts are far from being dead but they didn't reach their ATH neither. That's weird indeed.

Remember about any altcoins have different result on its development progress and these days people wanna go in the project that has a good development progress.

It's really hard to know whether to wait for another altcoin to reach its ATH. because everything is focused on bitcoin, so sometimes there is some kind of diversion and that's where we often don't have an ideal position to enter at a cheap price. Altcoin don't have a signal that gives a green signal, when bitcoin is at its peak, we forget about altcoin.

What do you mean by the increasing dominance of altcoins over bitcoin?
if so, I doubt it will. the altcoin season seems to have only happened because of the pump of bitcoin which brought some altcoins up too.
I think the altcoin season this year is different from the situation that happened in the 2017 altcoin market. Altcoins that have grown to follow the current bitcoin are those who have gained the trust of the market. when the altcoins have no product development it will be difficult for them to reach the ATH.

I don't think all old projects will run by their ATH as they previously did last 2017. Many of the top performing coins from previous years are not performing as well right now, and many of the new coins took the spotlight. If there's no development on the coin then its just pure speculation. Back in 2017 was also a time when ICOs were booming but only about 5-10% have actually succeeded. Even if were in a bull run, not all the alts will pump as it did. However, after a BTC pump its then time for the altcoins to shine.

Few old projects have made the ATH, like enj, doge, bnb, eth but most of the old projects are still far away from the ATH.
Older projects also increased in price very well, but truly new ones increased more. But altcoins that are millions of dollars before in marketcap are now billions of dollars, including the old ones.

Can we call the current situation bullrun for altcoin?
There was a time bitcoin did not increase after the initial increase but altcoins were increasing at the time so significantly, such time is called altcoin season. Later bitcoin also increase as the altcoins were increasing, if you study the market very well, you will notice and it was obvious.

So, when are we having altcoin bull where altcoin will be outperforming bitcoin? Or no more such things happening at all?
