I trust the site bittrex, because during my bitcoin trading in bittrex I never got in trouble, and the trading volume in bittrex quite high, it seems to me. I regret to cryptsy deposit, for a few weeks after I deposit satoshi, the website is dead  Cry.

I trust poloniex.com because although it was hacked it paid everyone back from the fees it earned from trades. Unlike cryptsy it immediately admitted it had been hacked. It's got high volume which smaller exchanges lack making it a good exchange for small spreads.

I'm going to attempt to make this thread a comprehensive list of major/growing exchanges .With the recent demise of Cryptsy (and Mintpal before) I've lost all faith in altcoin exchanges. I'm trying to get it back, but it's proving very hard as the options out there seem quite limited.

Post the exchanges you trust, or don't, with reasons and years you have been active.

If possible, please post this additional information about each exchange and I will update this post.
