That's a real problem here!
Even when an altcoin becomes quite popular, the price rises as hell but you have problems selling at this price :/
The worst part is when the first miners come in!! Then you're in competition with other vast owners and you'll probably make the price go down before you finish cashing out...

you are wrong last recent pump was from 100 satoshi to 10k-20k satoshi and then 100k satoshi and more for pascal coin, now investing only 0.01 in this would give you a crazy amount of bitcoin, i'm waiting for the next crazy rally on a new altcoin, for now holding the strongest one is a good bet for the future, monero and etheruem or zcoin/zcash

Currently pascal coin stable at ~33k satoshis/each pascal on poloniex. Didn't know if pascal was at 100 satoshis, even if you want to sell your pascal right now when you bought it at 100 sats, you still ended with big profit.
I don't think zxoin/zcash coin will increase in the future, assuming from their price is too high for alt coin IMO.

Holding altcoins for very long is really risky be sure to pick high volume altcoin like ETH and litecoin, they have good foundation, i use ETH for trading because the direction of the price on chart is upward so this means that its safe to hold that coin, takenote to look the chart in 1year,

But with most alt coins that I have seen a lot of people just buy up then trade them when they gather enough value.
So in a way a few months people don't have the stomach to hold them that long and end up dumping them the first chance they get. To afraid to take the risk on these being worth an amount less then what first got them for I would like to think. Undecided

completely new technologies? that's quite an ask. crypto's pretty unique in that regular folks can participate directly and get in early. all the other stuff like your teslas and super futuristic stuff like nano technology is sewn up before we even know about it. I don't think there'll be another opportunity like it.

That is the only way to do it.
Buy in early at $1k to see it grow and make a ton from it then sell off.

The only ones getting rich off altcoins right now are devs and the people holding ICOs.
Create coin, take peoples money for startup, premine and dump on exchange. Rinse and repeat.

There might be one coin every two or three years where you can make big profits in the long-term,
but most you need to dump quickly because they won't last. Most alts offer no new technology, no real support, just a lot of marketing hype.

open coinmarketcap or an exchange and look at some charts of coins that have been around for a year or so, that can help you understand what is going on with altcoins. try looking at more than 10 different coins.

altcoins aren't known to go up in long term. they start of hot, go up fast and big in a very short time (usually 1 to 3 days) and then get dumped just as fast. and from that point onward it is all drop.
obviously there are exceptions to this rule but this description matches majority of altcoins out there.

youre must hold is good altcoin, popular altcoin , and big community, if youre only use hold altcoin is not popular very low volume transaction, maybe one year a go youre altcoin is gone and nothing exchanger accepted trade youre altcoin

Although it is something that most of the time makes many people lose money, it seems that almost always works for developers. But it seems that people are avoiding more and more icos, it is rare to see icos collecting thousands of Bitcoin these days, as happened last year and in previous years.

If you can hold for a few months, Litecoin may be the option with the best risk-reward ratio. I think it will not be the currency able to make anyone to be a millionaire, but I think that if segwit is activated, there is the possibility of big profits. The problem is that there is no guarantee that this will be enabled. But if you are looking for something safer, in my opinion Bitcoin is the way.
