Thank you, that information is very helpful. I found an alt-coin creation service online ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cheapest-altcoin-creation-service-created-within-72-hours-min-03-btc-660051 ), however when I asked them if I would work on an antminer S3, they said they cannot confirm which I found odd. I also notice Mastercoin POW says N/A, so my concern is if I ask this guy to do an SHA-256 alt-coin for me, but then it doesn't work on ASIC, which is what I want it to do. GPU and CPU in addition is fine. (Using GPUs is not a problem for me, since I had 4 GPU litecoin rig before) I am interested in doing this for learning purposes, or at least to get started anyway. My concern is this guy does an SHA256, but it does not have POW. I asked him directly if it has POW ability. I am not a developer, but I am good with mining, networking, servers etc... Thanks again for the help.

Which Altcoins can you mine with an S3/Asics? Is there a list somewhere? Are there any Alt-coins that can do GPU/CPU and Asic? From my understanding in the beginning of bitcoin you could use CPU mining, then GPU and then ASIC. So a fork of Bitcoin could work on all 3 as well? I noticed coins like Mastercoins you cannot use ASICS? Or can you?
