Dash could have the largest number of nodes. There are hundreds of master nodes. There are also some core client nodes.
Well, that is not many at all. I have several running for a new coin from this month.
Horizon has a huge number of nodes - four digits' worth, last I saw.
I saw this article which looks into concerns about the number of bitcoin nodes and got to wondering how many nodes the variouys altcoins have?

Not Datacoin - - - only has 5 nodes I can find working.
