well with shared there is one wallet for all users and the service itself keeps record how much each user owns.
With the hybrid ones the keys are stored locally i believe (via javascript usually) and only you can access your wallet, understand send/receive money.
So you don't install software on your computer, but have about the same functionality and security. I think.... Smiley
