most of the African countries import goods and services through dollars and this keeps they financial system in the mercy of USD.  Bitcoin been a decentralized financial system is going to remove this dependence of Africa countries on dollars.  I think African is going to have the greatest beneficiary if cryptocurrencies can be early adopted by them.

Africa has so much to benefit from the application of blockchain. Recently, an ICO company has tested the use of blockchain in the efficient distribution of fertilizer in Nigeria. They also use the project to reach as many unbanked communities as possible. https://twitter.com/Kora_Network/status/999369241399832576. https://twitter.com/Kora_Network/status/981280580712181762. https://www.cnbcafrica.com/videos/2018/05/22/using-block-chain-tech-to-provide-financial-services-across-rural-africa/.

Africa is a developing continent and currently it is faced with many problems such as famine, health issues and corruption. Which areas/solutions do you think blockchain technology can be applied to solved???

In theory, the blockchain technology should be used in every domain. Maybe the first one should be the banking system, then education and health.

Using blockchain tech in our (Ghana) financial institutions will help a lot.  There's less transparency and mismanagement of funds

I think blockchain can become a financial haven for people from corruprt countries where local leftist dictators are printing money uncontrollably whereby causing hyperinflation as it was in Zimbabwe.

Probably health and medical records could have the most immediate impact, Factom for example was given a grant by the bill and melinda gates foundation to come up with a blockchain based solution. Not sure exactly how it panned out.

Aside from that there was an article by coindesk about a pilot program that was tested in a recent sierre leone election, TESTED, not used. key word there. hopefully as blockchain tech grows there will be more apparent use cases and utility.
