Yep. Absolutely. I've been around long enough to see hundreds of crap coins come and go. If this coin is so amazing then why can no one find any information on it? Why is your friend being so secretive about it? Is it a copy/paste coin available only on a Chinese exchange? It's not listed on coinmarketcap either.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this completely unknown Chinese copy/paste coin is gonna be the next Bitcoin.

If the coin has block explorer you can type wallet address from screenshot in google and hope it lead you to the answer.
