Announcing MyEtherWallet v3.24.00: Difficulty Bomb&Updating blockchain

Due to the complexity of the Bomb and the increased risk of hacking, we pushed a rather drastic update that implements a number of changes and improvements, including enhancement of efficiency and scalability of the blockchain, acceleration of transaction speed, and additional security in the form new formats private keys which will help protect users against hacking.
If you are using private key or UTC, then you need to go into the wallet and update manually, otherwise they risk being unprotected.

How do i update my Ethereum wallet?

1. Go to our website MyEtherWallet.com
2. Unlock your wallet using your Keystore File (UTC / JSON) or simply use your private key.
3. Click Unlock and wait for the update.

Please note that you need to manually update your wallet, failure to do so may result in funds being lost.

We are taking these measures to protect both you and our network from phishing and malicious attacks.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
MyEtherWallet Security Team.

If you use other methods, then ignore this message.

Thanx

Now I have another option!

I found out that hash for Dagger Hashimoto on 280x  GPU-s are not so bad!

R9 280x (3Gb): 22 mh/s Dagger Hashimoto (phoenix miner)... nice Cool

Which coins you are proposing for Dagger Hasimoto up to 3Gb gpu?

Thanx

Hi.
For example I have a rig with old 5x amd R9 280x.
The cost of electricity is not important for me. (free)  Wink

My Hash Rate:
CryptoNightV7: 2500 h/s
Equihash: 1400 h/s
Lyra2REv2: 110000 kh/s

Which coin would be smart to dig?
So far I had on auto exchane to BTC (nicehash)
Thanx

Hi there Igokan

I am not the most experienced of the users here, but it seems to me, that with free electricity you could mine almost anything and make profit Wink

anyway, I was looking into this and I believe that Equihash is pretty good option for you too (other than CryptoNightV7), with numbers for BTCP and Zcash looking pretty good. And Komodo is not too bad either.

When it comes to Lyra2REv2 I think Straks is good too, but to my surprise Verge is the most lucrative of them all at current prices. But the price of this one could go in any direction IMHO. Just check out whattomine's section coins to see yourself.

I think all of the above are pretty solid projects, ok Verge is up for discussion, but at least they have very passionate community

You can try something like gridcoin which still offers CPU mining so the GPU version will be better for you. Not sure how profitable it will be but if the electricity is free then you may as well go for it. It is already on the exchanges so you can trade for bitcoins

I'm surprised you're getting 2500 h/s on CryptoNightv7, that means you're getting 500 h/s per 280X where my RX580 8GB is only getting 900-1k h/s each.  That's really good for a card so old, I'd mine that.  How heavy are your overclocks?

Monero seems the best option for you. It is easy to check on sites like whattomine. Monero is the only altcoin besides bitcoin i consider legit and worth holding.

Monero is a bright light.
I'm afraid the difficulty will grow.

Is there any hope for other coins?
