if you are to start trading on altcoins, what sort of consideration should check before buying?

Should you chose Ripple because of their high volume per day yet the price is just cents and the total supply is 33 trillion or should I chose go to trade with low supply like Monero because the price is more than $10?

What are the things you consider before buying a coin, its Market Cap, Price, Available Supply and volume?

Actually I never look at the famouscity of the altcoin . I usually see at the price of the altcoin , which should be above of 100 satoshi , And also see the history of buy sell .
And then at that instant of time , if altcoin is best and suitable according to my recruitment , I made buy of amount at least of 0.005 btc ( with order of buy ) and next day again placed at sell in advance at 10% increment of rates .
This idea of trading is well suited for me .

I look mainly at 4 points:

Fundamentals: Is the coin offering something new or worth anyone's time? Is the coin another total shitcoin?

Supply: Is this coin a coin with billions of total coins with massive inflation? Or is a scarce asset?

Developers: Are they nobodies or someone you can trust?

Marketing: Maybe it's a shitcoin like Dogecoin or Trump, but those can pump as we have seen.

the simple answer would be to choose the altcoin that is being pump and dumped. in altcoin market sometimes it doesn't matter if the coin is worth it or not as long as it is being pumped. for example you can find coins with less than 0.01BTC daily volume that have gotten pumped and the volume goes up to 50-70BTC
that is why analysis doesn't work much in this market.
i think to choose a alt coin you need to check the volume, because some time a very little trade cause the increase for a little time and after that the price fell down because of the lack of interest of the people. therefore you should try to select a potentially good coin with respect to its price.

Actually i try to do deep research on each alt based on all three parameters along with who is dev team behind that coin and what are their expertise.
Coin with
- low marketcap
- low available supply
- high trading volume/demand
- well known dev team behind the project with great expertise

Can be considered as safe crypto to invest/buy.

The most important thing in any trade is the volume, if you trade illiquid tokens there is high possibility you will be trapped in the trade in case of panic sell or any other unforeseen circumstances, if you need to get out of position it will be difficult because of huge spread

When I am starting I am not yet familiar with the market flow and how to use it or what, so what I did is I depend on my friend who has many investments in different coin. But as days passed by, I learn to study by myself by reading and doing research, I realize that I should not depend on anyone. I myself should know it.

Eth price changes a lot as well in a short period of time, I think that ETH has a good potential for those in trading along with ETC and Monero, if you check their trading volume in poloniex then you can estimate which one worth most trading.
Agree by checking the volume of a certain coin in a certain trading sites you can know which one is have largest trading and you can try to trade to it. I will suggest that don't invest with everycoin that has a Large volume check first if that coin is legit or not. Because if that is not legit coin you can loss your money there just like my money. So check first before you trade.

First we should analyze the market, and if a new coin has a large volume then there is a high chance that coin is being pumped hard but ETH, ETC, XMR are in the top not for a short time so I think it worth investing there. Also a good move is to compare the price between exchanges and sometimes it works making a small profit.

there is many factor that you can do before you do trading like you can check volume, total supply, market Cap, price like you said and its good if you can found in a second with the good altcoin that might have chance profitable. what i am doing is i will check the price first, its down trend or not, how the history from at least a week or two weeks before, how is position between order book sell and buy, and if i found there is a chance for me to get profit, then i will select the price for buying the coins.

You already mentioned on the things you should need to consider or check first before you tend to invest or buy a particular coin.Usually i check first the trade volume and price which is the same on most people said here because this indicator shows that this coin have a potential since it been traded by people.

i will check the coins in the market for the movement from time to time, check the history in the past, watching the chart for the trends and many more. then if i am sure with the coins, then i will prepare to buy that coins but before i buy, i will check the last time in coinmarket for the volumes. ripple can be a good option but you need to check many things before you buy, monero is good too like ripple.
yes you need to check the alts coin from time to time. you can do this in exchange, specially you can even discuss about a coin with other people in yobit exchange. so you can better decide there that which coin you need to invest your bitcoin in.

there are too many things to consider when trading and price + volume is one of them which is also one of the most important things.

i always look at the trade volume but remember to check the volume for previous days, weeks, and look at the bigger picture not just last 24 hours or 2, 3 days.

and then comes price, remember that when price is 0.01BTC 100% rise means going to 0.02BTC and that is very hard. but when price is 100 satoshi for example 100% profit means going to 200 satoshi and that is much easier.

none of the things i said are rules, and they have exceptions but they are good guidelines in my opinion.

its true, cheap coins will give much more profit when getting pumped. But volume trading also very important when we'll start to buy thats coin, i agree with you not only volume in 24 hrs but for long time ago.
So for me i'll choose coin with cheap price but high volume on exchange every day,

First you should know about the market cap, founder and who have invested in the particular altcoin. You should choose an altcoin which is in the market for atleast 2 years as most of newly launched coins are scam and they disappear within one or two weeks of launch.  I would suggest to invest in ethereum or monero as they are performing well. Since altcoin market is highly fluctuating, you should follow up the market continuosly to gain profits.

I use to invest to coins with such price such as Golem Project for its cheaper but that is for long term. The feature of the coin is also a factor like should i choose monero when there is an emerging market of SDC?

If i have to trade and get out after a busy day, which should i try to trade?  Should i chose a coin that recently dip for may be -10%?

Active volume is my main criteria. When doing altcoin trading Im not eyeing for a long term profit or should I say too much holding like Im doing sometimes with bitcoin since I can't considered the volatility of all alts to what bitcoin have.

So to minimize my criteria, Im just doing altcoin trading at those exchange which has a terms for those coins with active volume. Im not promoting the site but Im talking about the Poloniex platform.

Also Im an enthusiast of those quite newly coins rather than a late comer for those alts that already established a correction price in most of the cases.
