Invest only in bitcoins and forget it for next 4 to 5 years as bitcoin can give you very massive profits in long term which may not be possible with any other altcoin but if you are looking for short term and regular profits then you can select some good altcoins with good reputation and higher volume.

Hello friends,
how would you allocate 5000 USD among several top 50 coins?
Interested in coins with certain upcoming developments, that have a decent team and following.
I think when we talk of investing, we should be ready to risk a bit and I think new coins that are not yet among the top 50 could be profitable to invest in in the long run and I have some coins I am looking forward to owning like hdac, indahash, ins and more.
I already hold some BTC/ETH, so any suggestions on any other coins? Smiley
Thank you! Smiley
You pretty much have a good start with these two if you still considering the top 50 you could add dash to your list.

Every project and real time investment also risky evn you cannot be able to believe the banks also. In that situation how do you say that we can invest on altcoin and thats value will be grows higher only always.
So keep on monitering the price chart needed if you invested in any coin. My best go is bitcoin only always because whatsoever we will find the bump for sure in future and invested fund will be returned.

Invest $3k in bitcoins and $2k in Ethereum as both of them are the best coins at a moment and even in future it will become more expensive so if you hold it for a long term then you will surely make some good profits from it as Ethereum can go even more then $1k in future and there is no limit for the price of bitcoins.

You know that High risk=High reward, but not in every situation, despite this,I prefer coins under 5-10 $,Because there are so many promising new coins with a good possibilities,Do researches and try to choose it by yourself,Today its not hard to define this, because there are also many unusable alts and in my opinion this alts will disappear soon.As the majority said in this topic,Also I do not have any doubts that big alts like Litecoin,Ethereum,ETC and others have a great future in cryptomarket.Noone can tell you that some coins will be 100000$,So choice is great and its your, keep striving, make researches and don't make decisions without brain.

If I had $5,000 USD:

$1000 in IOTA
$1000 in BTC
$1000 in ETH
$1000 in LTC
$500 in OMG
$200 in LSK
$200 in STRAT
$100 in AMP (which I would then use on WildSpark to earn rewards to promote my videos and earn even more crypto)

this is a good list with each of money investment and I think he can go with this list. but if he owns his list then I suggest he make a list like this. if he can research another coin, then he can find more potential coins to invest and he can have large coin list before he decides to invest his money.

Luckily I've invest on BCH as well when BCH first time born, I decide to invest on it. Yes, I'm made some profit by just hold it for long term.
My friend made a mistake when he sold BCH on short term !

Why do you want 50 top coins? It will make you confusing. Just ten is maximum and more than enough in my opinion. Normally i trade in some coin from top popular like waves and litecoin. I like the most than others.

It is nice to hear that you have prioritized Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in your investment portfolio. But next time around, you might want to consider Ethereum Classic (ETC), Waves (waves), Ripple (XRP), Monero (XMR), Litecoin (LTC), Stratis (Strat), Cardano (ADA), and XEM (NEM) in your priority list. These are the top coins that will not easily go down even if hundreds and hundreds of new coins will arrive in the market.

Put it into Litecoin.
Not the best idea IMO, the current price hike in litecoin seems like a pump but still its a very good coin. I would prefer doing 50-50 in ETH and LTC, there is always BTC if you don't want any others but I think you would already had invested in that? There is also IOTA which is showing some potential but I'm not very sure about it.

Hey Rtxcx!
Thats a very responsible question. As a newbie in this forum, the best way to utilize this forum is to ask questions, participate and make progress in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

It is suggestive that you are on the right path especially since you hold a few ETH & BTC. However, on any day Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ripple, Nem etc are worth investing for long term gains. These are safer and more sought after. But you must look at the trends and take thorough analysis. Proper research is the key.

For day trading there are few interesting coins, collaborative investments and ICO tokens that are promising and worth investing. This has a little margin of risk always involved. But it is worth the effort.

As a rule, needless to say, you trade only that which you can afford to lose! Always be prepared for the worst and then plunge into trading. It is your call what you wish to do at the end of the day. Those 5000$ are best utilized with as I said earlier with thorough research.

Probably smth like this:
50% for Bitcoin
15% for Ethereum
10% for Litecoin
5% for IOTA
20% for 10 Alts with great Upside (Zencash, GoBytes, Electroneum, XSPEC, Sagacoin, VIVO, Dovu and others)
i think iota better than other altcoin ,so better for your investment portofolio to make bigger allocation on this.few days ago, iota rate rise to $4.if this make correction we could buy on this more.

20% (5 Recently added with in 1 month).

The altcoin I am involved in is Bitchamps (BCS), Unixcoin (Unix), Spacoin (Spa). These are good altcoin, it allows lending with interest rates from 40% - 50% per month. These altcoins have huge community and professional management team. You can consider and invest in these projects.

I agree with your list. The 20% should have Cardano, EOS and Lisk(These are long holds), Lisk by March is relaunching, Cardano and EOS are cheap and next in line to hit 100 - 200 within 14days margin.

Also you can get into ICOs, i'd recommend INS and the token is tied to commodities which makes its usage eminent.

I suggest investing some of that money in Burst. With the Dymaxion upgrade coming on December 27, its a good opportunity to go in now while the price is stable and cheap. Who knows how high will it go after the announcement.

But always keep in mind that Burst is risky, and to keep your expectations low. The Dymaxion might be nothing.

Spectrecoin (XSPEC) deserves a good look.  Here's why:

As governments seek to track and regulate cryptocurrencies, the demand for truly private and anonymous currencies will predictably skyrocket.  One of the most undervalued anon currencies in all of crypto is Spectrecoin.

Spectrecoin has native Tor integration, meaning it is running on Tor any time it is open, and your IP address is effectively hidden.  It has the OBFS4 obfuscation protocol integrated, which makes it impossible to detect that it is running on Tor, enabling its use in Tor blocked countries.  It employs ring signatures for transactional anonymity.  An upcoming version that is currently under development will make stealth transactions the default (right now, they have to be manually selected), which will eliminate the chances of accidentally making a public transaction.  There is a low power Android staking wallet on the roadmap, and the crowning glory will be the SpectreCash small remittance Android app, to facilitate 100% anonymous peer-to-peer transactions.

At less than $1 per coin, Spectrecoin is currently a steal.  As the roadmap gets implemented, this coin is expected to take off like a rocket; we are talking life changing potential for those who buy now and hold.

You can find out more about this hidden gem here: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin

You can invest in Ethereum, Monero, Ripple, Deep onion, EMC2 and make sure that you don't invest in single coin as its always good to diversify your investments and if you don't have any knowledge about bitcoin then investing in bitcoin is the best thing to do.

Emc2 couldn't be a good one as of now. It's hyped.

Dash, ripple, iota, ardor, waves, steemit, litecoin, monero, zcash worth investments now. They're very promising and known ones in the market for long time if I'm not wrong.

With the recent crapping out of ETH I am inclined to recommend Ethereum Classic (ETC) as a good hedge against your ETH holding. Not saying ETH won't go up but I think ETC has more potential in the near future here.

If you are asking for good portfolio, always diversify to 3:
1 to bitcoin, 1 to good altcoins (like ethereum, litecoin, neo etc.) and 1 to risky coins like einsteinum or new ico tokens. This works better in my opinion.
