The difference between hardware and software AES in cryptonight isn't that huge, just some ~10% difference, its still the best algorithm to mine on your cpu. If anything, you can try overclocking your memory since despite its premise, cryptonight doesn't really fit in L2 on most processors in windows and hence is heavily bottlenecked by memory speed.

Ok so Cryptonight it is, now what?

XMR, AEON or XDN?

At the moment i'm mining XMR, should i move to AEON?

Keep Working
AES-NI is one of the few advantages a CPU has over a GPU for mining. Most algos that don't use AES are even less competitive
compared to GPU mining. Just mine the most profitable algo on your CPU regardless of whether it uses AES.

And how can i find out which is the most profitable for my cpu? It's an i7 920

I think whattomine.com can help you, just check for CPU algo only.

The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom
I quite like CPU mining Nexus, but I can't tell you how well it will do with non AES-NI. It does come with various miner versions for different levels of CPU sophistication.

If you check out http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nexus/ you will see that it's price has had dramatic increase recently too.

At the moment i'm currently mining monero, but since the cpu is not AES-NI results are really poor

Any advices of more profitable cryptocurrencies i could mine? I found Aeon, Decred and Verge but not sure which one i should mine

verium zoin and magi are the only good cpu coin, there is no other like this, i think verium is the most promising, then zoin, monero is too bot net fest for my taste not good
