In the past, I am Dumb Money because I wanted to earn as much as possible and don't want to wait too long to earn money.
And now, perhaps I am Smart money, I have invested for 10 months, and waiting for the result of works of the owner of the project in Q4 2018.

I think I am a mix breed.
Though I like to invest long term and hold, my lack of confidence and knowledge makes me a chaser.
But I am improving with time so maybe I will be smart in future.
Everything starts from zero and there are no instant results, i am sure if you keep trying to study the crypto world you will definitely invest well.

~snip~

remember that crypto is not only for today.
I agree with this, only stupid thought invests in the short term and throws money in an instant, but with a note that we must really know where we invest for the long term.

This is a tweet from a CEO of one cryptocurrency project that I am supporting with. I was a follower of him on twitter as per visiting his account earlier this big question captured my attention.

Which are you in #crypto?

Smart Money:
- Invests on hard data & sound fundamentals
- Long term approach (years)
- Leaves out emotion & keeps focus

Dumb Money:
- Follows the masses & chases pumps
- Short term mindset
- Buys & sells in huge chunks instead of dollar cost averaging

I described myself to be a Smart Money because of longterm mindset and keeping in focus and leaving out emotions. I treasure the possibility of what the future may bring to my investment.

I think you need to review your persona when it come to investing in crypto. I am long term investor but i don't see anything wrong in investing in short term. Dumb money should be one that has not approach at all . However, great share thanks

Both the terms confuses me a lot. I mean I have started to feel that I am in both of them according to what I am holding and what are the characters of my coins really. Well nonthless smart money must be the priority but in many instances I have seen that dumb money where according to this definition is buy and sell of big chunks you say. I do that very often, for example cheap coins like IOST, scl, TRON, TRX and much more can get me into it. They are cheap and that's why buying them in bulk and selling them with average price rise can benefit a lot.

Now here is the contradiction : The dumb money could actually be smart one too if you do it right.

you are right, in short term investments we are always chased by pumps and many people experience losses, to be honest they just follow trends without understanding everything.
that is a long term holder who is always happy without having to think every day to find a pump or create profits from the trade.

remember that crypto is not only for today.

Smart money.

I invest in long term and my attitude in investments even  not with crypto before is being applied to crypto now. Long term investments are the best though we don't have the same preference in investing. Dumb money in short are the ones that likes pump and dumps and just follow signals.
