Thank you for that. What is (signature) for. I can see it is a PGP script, but why is it there ?
To verify if you have the real binaries downloaded from the official website and not a malware.

If you want to do that, follow this guide: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@jklepatch/how-to-verify-the-integrity-of-electrum-wallet-executable-on-windows

Portable version is not recommended. A windows installer will install the wallet in a chosen location (e.g C:\Program Files (x84)) while the standalone one will allow you to run the wallet through an .exe (no need to install the wallet) and this is more suitable If you want to move it to Flash drive etc. (you will need to move the wallet file from your %appdata%\Electrum folder though).

I want to use an Electrum wallet on a Windows 10 desktop. Three options are given on the Electrum site : Standalone Executable (signature), Windows installer (signature) and Portable version (signature). I cannot find in the site's FAQ an explanation of which option I should download or what the difference is. If I click on signature a long PGP signature appears. What am I supposed to do with this, if anything ?
