There is alot of information on this subject on this forum. I'm not being dismissive, but it's pretty easy to find (mining/hardware)

This might be a good starting point -> https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

It also depends on your OS choice and overclocking confidence / cooling choice.

I'm ready to start mining on a serious level which necessitates the addition of one or more GPUs to my PC. My current setup is a Gigabyte X58 mainboard with a Core i7 920 and 6gb DDR3 RAM. 2x640gb SATAII HDDs in a RAID0 mirrored by two more 640s. The PCI express slots, however, are bare. My board has two x16 slots and a third x8 slot, possible configurations being:

x16
x16, x16
x16, x8, x8

With a budget of ~$500 give or take a hundred, I'm trying to decide on the best GPU to go with for now. With three PCI express slots, obviously future expandability can be taken into consideration. Above all, however, I'm looking to get the most I can out of this setup right now. I'm interested to hear what some more experienced miners have to say on the subject.
