I'd second comments on the 270's. I just put 2 of the 270x's in and I love them. If I had it to do over I would probably get regular 270's for the reasons stated above. Bang for the buck though, they were the best I could find after doing some research. They're also much more readily available, without the $100 or more mark-up the 280x and 290x's have seen. Good luck to ya though whatever you decide.

270s are cool Smiley

can u fit 6 x r9 270 into 1 rig?

Yeah, you as long as you have the right power supply with LOTS OF 12V RAIL AMPERAGE and the right risers to support 6 cards. It's not much harder than any other mining rig to set up, but the power supply will be running at nearly 90% 12V rail rated amps. Be very, very careful xD

Right now I'm aiming at only 1x Decent GPU & a Bigger PSU than what I have now.

I'm pretty sure I have decided on a Sapphire ATI HD 7970 OC EDITION V2 PCI-E 3.0, 3GB 384-bit GDDR5, 1000/5800 Mhz

And a Corsair 750W ATX Modular Power Supply, 80 PLUS Bronze Certified, 2x PCI-E

I would buy the 270's (not X) as they're readily available and only consume 150 watts while doing 450Kh/s. They are just down clocked 270X's (no shader or logic unit differences). I have a few of them and they run amazingly while consuming little power. As for the power supply, I simply have a raidmax 1000W 80+ GOLD PSU. It's a cheap, reliable, efficient PSU and I highly recommend it.

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering out of the following which Hardware to get for Scrypt Mining, keep in mind my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3 (socket 775) with 3 GB RAM BUT compatible with the following:

Graphics Card:

Sapphire ATI HD 7950 VaporX-OC w BOOST PCI-E 3.0 3GB GDDR5

Sapphire ATI HD 7970 OC EDITION V2 PCI-E 3.0, 3GB 384-bit GDDR5, 1000/5800 Mhz, D-DVI, HDMI, 2x

Asus R9270X-DC2T-2GD5 DC 2 PCI-E 3.0 2GB GDDR5, DVI-D/ HDMI/ D-SUB, DX11

Sapphire TOXIC R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 WITH BOOST; 1100 ( Boost 1150) MHz/6000MHz; DVI-I/DVI-D/HDMI/D

Gigabyte GV-R928XOC-3GD-GA ED 3G DVI-I HDMI 2x miniDP

From my understanding the Sapphire ATI HD 7970 OC EDITION V2 PCI-E 3.0, 3GB 384-bit GDDR5, 1000/5800 Mhz, D-DVI, HDMI, 2x or the Gigabyte GV-R928XOC-3GD-GA ED 3G DVI-I HDMI 2x miniDP would be the best though Any help would be greatly appreciated Smiley
