I've never played poker, I've heard a great many things about it.
I'd like to learn .. keep in mind I haven't even played rummy (the Indian card game)..so I'll be a complete noob.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Youtube videos are all fine and dandy but I'm looking for a guided tutorial game platform where it'll dive into the more technical side of things.

i learned alot of watching videos on youtube that explain simple strategies and tactics that can make the low stakes grind abit easier and what add ons to use to make it even easier, im not saying its going to be a easy ride its alot to learn , but if u study the game its realy fun once you start seeing improvments.

Install a poker game on app store then play it on your own. Through that, you will determine and find ways on how to play poker. I'm also a complete noob but when I played it on my phone like the Zynga poker in the google play store, my knowledge about it increased. Also, watch tournaments on youtube, it might help you also and you will learn how to bluff.

For me though, playing it first hand is the quickest way to learn. There are a lot of free simulation and tutorial games online where you don't have to actually buy in. That's the best way to learn the basics and pick up a few techniques as well. Though it's still better to have yourself familiarized first by playing actual poker with friends.

Good advice from all of you. But the most important thing is that we understand the meaning of the card when playing poker. With that basis, maybe you can play directly and of course with a small game first so that you will understand the game and its own strategy. That's what I did before I knew poker.

Agree, I also think it's not too difficult for us to learn poker online because with goolge, it provides a full range of knowledge then it has demo modes to help us get used to this game, but all is just basic, want to play this game better, we need some time to accumulate experience. However, instead of learning the games that can burn our money like that, we should learn more useful knowledge, knowledge that can help the job or create an additional source of income, gambling never gives us those benefits

What good things about poker games and other gambling games are we can find it anywhere, even on social media game platform like Facebook. Maybe this is non sense but in there we can play poker and the opponents is not only cpu (usually i say it cpu when it is not real people who play) but we can play and train our skill with other people.

there are sites online that allows you to play poker for free and this is okay to use when your going to pactice or if you are a begginner but there are also apps on the store that is built for mobile and this is also better to use if your on the go or if you dont have a laptop/pc . when your ready to play poker for real , betting smaller amounts is ideal and its okay if you loose atleast your only loosing small .

I've never played poker, I've heard a great many things about it.

This reminds me when I was a student and to get an edge over the other students beside studying for University I also was studying for IT online exams.I did a lot of reading, hands on lab-practice,watched tutorials and also a lot of practice tests.

You don't have to watch or read all the resources you can find at once, either- with a lot of things I find it's better to learn over a period of time rather than cramming a lot of material in all at once. YouTube's chock full of information on how you can start and improve your poker skills, but it doesn't do any good if you can't remember and utilize the things you've learned from watching those videos. Same goes for any guides you might find regarding poker.

I personally do not want to accept that learning it offline would be the best. He can actually still learn on different applications online. I'm not a pro poker player and I just learned the game through mobile games and doing some research about the game. It is also not mastered through 1 game but a constant practice and familiarization of the cards to do some strategy ingame.

I impressed on how you have been able to learn this game by using mobile app, it will really be of good benefit if poster can follow suit but sometimes it depends on the learners.

Not everyone is able to learn from an application or just by watching videos. Some people learn better when they see faces they are familiar with so my best advice would be that he looks out for people in his neighborhood who are good with the game and he might be challenged to learn faster.

You could learn poker by playing the software version on your laptop or mobile devices . I believe you can find many poker games to download online(on Google playstore for example).

Get some youtube tutorials to help guide you on how to play the software poker, then follow the tutorial and play.

I'm not a pro poker player and I just learned the game through mobile games and doing some research about the game. It is also not mastered through 1 game but a constant practice and familiarization of the cards to do some strategy ingame.

poker is best to play with real people on the table as you can see facial reaction which can have something to analyze. the challenge is there in bluffing and calling. you wouldn't want to waste the fun on mobile app. but yes the thrill of winning still is there.

basically you just have two cards and you can match it with the 5 cards to be reveal on the table upon betting for the pot. youtube video would indeed make this clearer.
when you combine your two cards to the five cards laid to have below combinations:

The best way to learn poker is just to download some free poker app on your Android/Apple device and practice for free.Those games aren't gambling,they are just for fun.I've tried the Zynda poker app on Android and it was great.
You just have to know when to bet,fold and check and what are the different card combinations.

This sounds like i'm fooling around but I'm totally a noob few years back and I just want to learn card games besides from blackjack and baccarat and I saw the poker which seems interesting to me.

I don't watch or read blogs about the game since for me experience is the best teacher and so I searched online to play free poker games and I landed to a flash poker game (I think the name of the games is governer of poker by youda games) and play it without any knowledge and after an hour or two I already know how to play the game and to test it out I tried it in the real gambling casino and I'm winning (But not all the time)

We have different choices, I choose to play flash game in order for me to experience the real game immediately and learn the basics while in game but if you want to study it first through reading or watching tutorials then go with it. For what I think there are some online sites where you can play poker for free.

Watch poker tutorials on youtube to get the basics down before you jump into practice games. I would also recommend watching some high level tournaments to get a feel for how the pros play and try to emulate what they do once you build up some basic skills.

I suggest to play first in offline like install poker application in app store like download it because you will learn a lot from that like you will experience there some strategy in poker then try to risk little by little in online poker

another thing that you should is read different topics about poker here in forum i'm sure you will learn some also in that so your chance to win will go high then actually that will depends on you like you will win base in your own strategy
