I usually buy banner ads, works great. In the last 2-3 days I got 65-70 referrals for $5

Sounds interesting. Any particular networks that you'd recommend?

I actually bought it from my own network (which we are beta testing right now)

Hi,
I hope this is the right place to ask this question: on what kind of sites do you get the most referrals? Dice, faucet, cloudmining,..? And what also would be interesting is the kind of advertising you make for getting referrals: PTC-sites? And if yes which duration for showing the ads?
It would be nice if you share your experience.

I'm on the referral trail myself and from my experience the faucets that use the CoinPot microwallet seem to attract the most referrals. I've also written a blog about bitcoin faucets for beginners with referral links in and I'm trying to build up the traffic to that, but it's not easy as it's quite a saturated market.

Like the OP, any tips/experiences from people who've done this before would be appreciated.

The sites that bring referrals the most are those who offers better rewards, that is the reality. What means cloud minings (which aren't cloud minings, but Scam schemes) are more showy. I have seen people with more than 200 referrals on scam sites, 200 referrals gotten in few days... Anyway, everyone was scammed in the end, so don't do this, people will trust you once and then never more.

PTC sites are hard to refer people, it was a hype when there wasn't Bitcoin, a common method to earn money online many years ago. People aren't interest on it very much. Faucets depending how you advertise it can generate some satoshis profit, but not too much.

That's a good question. I don't promote cloud mining ponzi schemes and I'm rarely promoting dice websites. I'm advertising faucets mostly, so I can talk about it.
I have a blog and by looking at Google Analytics and earnings from referrals, for me most profitable faucets are
1. Coinpot.co faucets;
2. Faucethub bitcoin faucets;
3. Freebitco.in;
4. Dogecoin faucets (Faucethub, Freedoge.co.in and others).
Now about my strategy to attract referrals. I'm promoting my site on bitcointalk and other forums, social networks. Various helpful articles and tutorials helps to get more visitors to my site.
Advertising on PTC websites is not effective from my experience, because PTC users rarely joins advertised website, they only watching ad to get $0.001. And not many people using PTC these days. I'll rather suggeststart simple blog (even Google blogger is good), put there some information about website that you are promoting and then post about it on forums, social networks and etc. You also can spend some money to buy advertisement on networks like a-ads or mellowads, instead of wasting money on PTC.
And cloud mining websites is not worth to promote, because mostly aren't legit and turns into scam sooner or later. Affiliate programs on gambling websites is goid thing, but it's more difficult to to promote than faucets.

About point 2 , i would really appreciate if you will Somehow Get my faucets Reviews/Post them somewhere in your blog, as far as i know , they are almost the most paying faucets out there.

Btc Faucet : http://btczone.faucethero.com/ 12-16 Satoshi Every Second No Timer.

Doge : http://dogezone.faucethero.com/   0.6-0.8 Doge Every Second No Timer.

I went through PTC sites before and it's not an easy journey for me. I've tried many strategies that are published and even bought a so called "strategy" that will bring me more referrals but in the end I realized that it is just another money maker for the author. What I did with the advertising to gather referrals is through social media after trying to get some decent amount of cashout that attracted many of my friends and other people in different groups.

Advertising, and blogging.

If you were advertising focus on the newbies to bitcoin that would be most interested in whatever service you are trying to refer people into. Freebitco.in has a nice and simple approach for this, and coinmarketcap banner spots are a good investment as well.

Blogging is quite self explanatory - again, you're trying to focus your target on newbies that don't have accounts with the majority of these services yet.

The most referrals come from "How to ..." articles and videos in my experience. If you provide useful content like tutorials or news, you can generate the most referrals.
PCT-sites are mostly scam and not worth it to lead refs to them, because you would loose your reputation. Also most of the cloud mining services.
If you find a good service, you could make youtube videos and place your reflink for it or even put a reflink into your signature, once you ranked up. But take care, only to recommend legit services.
