2FA makes it a little harder for a hacker to get into just your account. It does nothing to prevent someone from hacking the entire pool.

Some advice for mining:
1. Always set auto-payouts, at least daily if possible, so you don't lose a lot if something happens.
2. As an alternative, just p2pool and get instant payouts so that there is no central wallet to be hacked.
3. 2FA is important too.

I've just seen a twitter post from @thecryptorush:
"#CryptoRush Once again We fear that a Mining Pool has been compromised. Many reports of hacking going on. Use 2FA! Protect Yourselves!"

does anyone know which one/should i even be asking?

Probably yet another pool based on MPOS.  This should *probably* be in the Altcoin section since CryptoRush is an altcoin exchange, meaning whatever pool may have been hacked was most likely an altcoin pool.
