Can electrically install 6 gpus. Getting them to install in device manager is something else. Might get all 6 to work in linux but i dont do linux

That is very helpful. One question though, exactly how hard is it to get all the cards working in device manager? I've had enough problems already with 4 cards on a mobo.

Yeah, that's mainly what I was wondering about.

They do have molex connectors by the slots, but I was planning on using powered risers anyways. I guess if there would be any issue it would be something on the board itself that would prevent me from being able to run the cards. If only someone with one of these boards could share their experiences, but most miners dont have LGA1155 systems.

On the pcie slots side YES, on the chance of making 7 cards work it's something else.

What I read is that 3 or 4 cards is easy more is difficult

I have been looking at two different motherboards and I am wondering if either of them would be able to run 7 cards (with extenders of course).

The reason I am looking at LGA1155 mobos is because I already have a computer on the z77 platform that I use for other stuff, and I was planning on selling my current mobo and upgrading it to one of these to allow for more cards.

Any input would be appreciated.
