that depends on how much you want to spend etc but all ways if you  can go 750 or higher gold standard for three of those two 750 can power it  clock with NP .

Hi guys many thanks for the information, but unfortunately the seller of the two antminer S3's has let him down so while he seeks a refund I'll be working with the single antminer s3 that he has already, so will be getting a corsair 750 to run the s3 I already have mining along with the new one.

Hi all, my friend will soon be receiving three antminer S3 machines and wants me to sort out a suitable power supply to run all three off.

My first question is if it's possible in the first place or will we need to use, say, a corsair cx500 for each individual mining machine, instead?

Would, for instance a 1300w EVGA SuperNova G2 (80 gold rated) firstly have enough power to run all three at stock speeds (not overclocked) and secondly does this PSU feature enough connection sockets to power all three antminer S3's? Thirdly, would this 1300w EVGA have enough power to run all three slightly overclocked, or is th's pushing it too far?

Also does anyone know of a good quality 1500w PSU that's under £200?

the evga supernova g2  1300 watt psu can run 3 s-3's 24/7/365  at freq 231.25  will pull around 1110 watts at the wall. you will hash at about 465gh a machine.    been there done that tested and run at the speeds of freq 243.75  freq 237.50 freq 231.25

perfectly steady at freq 231.25  my numbers are usa 120 volts at the wall if you are GB/UK  you will do a little better.

Dogies pick of 2 cxm's will also work  and in the short run (Under six months) is a better pick for running 3 of these units.

A good 1500 watt psu on the cheap is hard to find.

this is usa price  345usd

Yes you could run 4 individual.

Most efficient solution would be 2x CX750Ms, which would have headroom to overclock with.
