sorry... this might not be the best thing to use for a 24/7 load. you can still try but it might fail on you

I got 4 on a power hungry PC at about 800W

just make sure your 12V rail has at least 12-14A on it

I was just gonna rec you the GB 270x... 270 was a bit too hot for my liking even at 100% fans

ROFL guess i shouldnt have posted this

the sapphire and the gigabyte 270x's are now gone.

looks like they are back!

you think it could be ran on a 400w psu tho?

Been trolling amazon for a R9 270 to use in my work computer in the office (I found in my garage a 400w PSU thats pretty much brand new (although old..its a Dynex) to use, and don't feel like spending any more money on another PSU)

so far I've been able to snag:

ASUS R9270-DC2OC-2GD5 - $199

Sapphire Radeon R9 270 BF4 Edition 11220-00-25G - $209 (planning to flip the BF4 key)

Amazon also has the XFX Double D 270 for 199, Sapphire 270x (non BF4) for $209, and Gigabyte 270x for $209

Now being my PSU is only 400w, I dont know if i can run the 270x?  It just sucks that the BF4 edition regular 270 was the same price as the 270x's available.

Thoughts?  I've heard that the Asus 270 runs very hot?

Going to be using BAMT on a PC with core2duo and probably 2GB ram

Recap:
Asus 270 - $199
Sapphire 270 - $209 with BF4 key
XFX 270 - $199
Gigabyte 270x - $209
Sapphire 270x - $209

One other thought, the Sapphire 7870 for 175 - $15 Rebate (final price - $160), but this lies in the same catagory as the 270x so not sure if my 400w PSU can handle it
