You want to buy a wifi router for mining. You would want to buy a super stable wifi router that do not need to power cycle every now and again. I would not buy a second hand router since a brand new good router is not expensive anyway and will last for a few years.

I have one WRT that has lasted a very long time pretty darn impressive. I personally like having additional options on my routers I currently am running ddwrt and tomato on different routers.

With OP not having a ethernet connection and only wifi. I would suggest a router with client mode that you can connect to wifi from it and plug ethernet cords into it for internet connection.

i don't know about ASUS but have seen a lot of positive feedback on alibaba and local sites here , from point of view of costs they are still good from their counterparts.

I think all gigabit ports can lead to are lower delays, at least I hope so. Especially if you have fast enough cable internet connection. I have only 3G access to external Network. Embarrassed

Say you have a hand cranked lightbulb generator with a magnetic field inducing voltage into a coil of wire, the voltage increases as the number of turns of wire on the coil, the size of the coil and the strength of the magnetic field increases. You can do the integrals by approximation by hand using things like the Trapezoid rule, but it's also interesting to write code like in Python to do the integral like with an iterative loop since the terms in the series have a kind of order in their variation. it would be great to solve integrals and PDEs with Boinc that would normally need a university supercomputer?

wow so the gigabit ethernet ports help with high volume mining like with s3s and s5s?
yeah I wouldn't go with these HP DM4 laptops, despite the nice i7 chip and 6GB ram they just begin die after a couple of years and screen somehow failed and I replaced it.
I'm in the middle of trying to do a factory reset/firmware reboot with a raspberry serial-USB connector

Personally I would like to buy a router by TP-link, Netgear or Zyxel. May be Mikrotik (I have a RouterBoard 951G-2HnD), but it's a kind of special thing. But not D-link and ASUS...

DSL-2750E should be able to act like a bridge (see 3.2.3 section of it's manual), also it can handle 3G connection in case of your ISP internet access failure.

Lynksis WRT54GL should be able to be a bridge too, but even if not you can flash it with DD-WRT and then it should. Wink

MicroNet SP608K can't do Wi-Fi, right? Sure if you have it once you may use it.

3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 3300 XM - oh, sure you can use it when you'll have a 20+ miners in your farm.

I was thinking of running internet poker on it too and have a kind of weak wifi signal right now.

anyway I bought 2 s3s with 2 Dell 750W powersupplies at $300USD and then I wonder what's going to happen to the bitcoin price. I'm kind of in shock after my s3 crash after firmware flash failure and crippled by lung disease
there is a risky fix I read about on this forum you can reset the firmware by jumping the circuit from the debug holes by jumping ground with a paperclip hole from hole 1->3. I'm not sure if it will destroy the miner

Even my old cheap ASUS RT-N10 can act like a bridge for your miners.

since I may not have access to the house router/cable modem can I use a WIFI router to connect to the modem/WIFI and then hook up the antminers to that for mining?
I did find a router with bridge capability and something like 60mbps
