It's all about the game, and how you play it
Most of the 12.x and 13.x driver revisions shouldn't require dummy plugs but i've found even though we're not supposed to need them does not make them useless, as a side note i advocate 75 ohm resistors in place of plugs due to their absurd cost.

I've never needed dummy plugs?  12.4, 12.8, 12.10, 13.2.....Windows 7, Windows 8....6 different ATI cards from a HD5870 to a HD7950....

I don't understand why people think they need them?

Thanks both of you for answers. I can confirm both 13.1 and 12.8 versions do not require dummy plugs, at least with 7950 cards.
I've changed the title to [Solved]

I use 12.8 without dummy plugs with 2 GPU's (7950's). No crashes unless I'm messing with stuff  Wink.

Thanks, mate. It seems 13.1 works ( tested it today ), but i get way more "display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered" messages than before. For example, after I close cgminer, the driver always crashed, then recovers. It didn't happen with the 13.2 beta drivers.

So, any other driver that works without dummy plugs ?

Have a mining rig
I'm using 13.1 on Sapphire 7950's. Full build list at http://www.coinminingrigs.com/quad-7970-mining-rig/.  No dummy plugs were required, though once I did have to temporarily plug in a monitor on one to 'activate' it.

I have 13.2 beta and it still require dummy plugs, for a couple of hd 7950s. If there's anyone that's using multiple GPUs without dummy plugs, please post here your catalyst driver version and SDK. ( windows )
Thanks in advance Smiley
