PSA, about Wasabi and Samourai Wallet, the both of them have been on a on-and-off Twitter war, both claiming that the other is not private. I'm confused on who tells the truth, and who lies. I believe you can search for them in Google.

Wars between Wasabi and Samourai Wallet has been around for years. Many claims from both sides are plain lie, exaggerating, already known (such as leftover of mixed coin when you use Wasabi) or could happen if the users being careless.

But there are few genuine concern that i know such as Samourai Wallet used blockchain.info API in past (https://blog.samouraiwallet.com/post/138707819517/aiming-for-better-privacy-in-bitcoin).

But at very least, both wallet is more private than most bitcoin wallet out there (unless either wallet have serious flaws that has yet to be discovered).

Now, the question to all my fellow members is, do you know any other cryptocurrency wallet that provide the same kind of feature or as per is Privacy centric. I am looking for wallets that support not only Bitcoin but other cryptocurrency too.
All options above are suitable for bitcoin wallets, but what about altcoins/bitcoin wallet?
The best is https://hodler.tech/, it is open source, secure, supports many OS, lots of cryptocurrencies, using Tor, and Keypool for privacy.

Quote
Keypool – new address for each new transaction. Subsequent transactions will be received to new addresses, while the change mechanism will send coins to addresses with positions higher than 1,000,000 in the pool. This will greatly improve the privacy of transactions, and automatic mixing will help to obfuscate the real address of the sender. The longer wallet is being used, the more diffused and mixed user's coins will become. It's a major change in the wallet, and one that we have tested thoroughly. If you happen upon any issues with synchronization, they can be fixed by restoring the user's profile with the “QR Encrypted Backup” or “Mnemonic Seed Backup”. In case of any problems, contact us at [email protected].

for more privacy use it with some central mixers.

What about the "Sybil attack" on Wasabi, which was actually just Wasabi providing liquidity, and that Wasabi can trace all those UTXOs?

Unlike Wasabi Wallet which have fixed output size (about 0.01BTC) and fixed coordinator address, Whirlpool have fewer participant and the output is varied which makes blockchain analysis have harder time determining whether it's regular or CoinJoin transaction.

On the other hand, the downside of having less participants is that the anonymity set is smaller.
Wasabi is aiming at a anonymity set of 100. Coins with an anonymity set of 50 are considered good in terms of privacy in wasabi.

Having only ~10 participants could be quite risky and shouldn't be considered as enough privacy. Obviously, mixing multiple times is an option to increase the anonymity set and therefore the privacy.

The best wallet for your bare bone privacy is a full node (e.g. bitcoin core).

If you want to use privacy features to increase your privacy further, wasabi is the only one available for a desktop system.
Any other lightweight client is definitely not recommended.

For a mobile, as others have mentioned already, samourai. Definitely not mycelium which is just a 'normal' lightweight client and harmful to your privacy.

Instead of Mycelium look at Samourai wallet.  It allows both TOR and VPN connectivity but unlike Mycelium  can "rotate" your coins inside whirpool  making them indistinguishable  from others ( like a giant hotel washing machine makes all bed linens undistinguished  from each other).  Mycelium  can’t even hold its own.

Just a precision
What they call Whirpool is nothing more than coinjoin, it's forked from the ZeroLink framework.
It's also good to mention that Whirpool is still considered in Beta.

It's only available for Android devices.

People can use Whirpool on all devices https://support.samourai.io/article/91-mixing-on-mobile-with-whirlpool

Hey! Thanks.
What do you think @mocacinno qualifies to be a perfect privacy centric wallet as per my understanding only Bitcoin's transaction can be consider as non private as you can find out from which wallet it originated and which wallet it got credited.

I personally use wasabi as a hotwallet... From wasabi I either coinjoin or use chipmixer, then my funds go to my hardware wallet.

Wasabi is great, it has a visual way of showing me which funds have been coinjoined and which are still linkable to my identity... It also has good coin controll features and works over the internally started tor router... To bad the coinjoin feature doesn't work when you use wasabi in combination with your hardware wallet... That would have been an ideal situation.

Hey! Thanks a lot for suggesting Samurai Wallet. Is this wallet available for all kinds of devices or is it only meant for a particular device. I have read few information about Samurai wallet but never ever thought of trying it. I will certainly look into it.

It's only available for Android devices. I would also like to add that this wallet allows you to connect to your own node as well, which is something not many phone wallets let you do.

Also, please avoid consecutive posting, it's against the forum rules. If you want to quote multiple posts, just quote one, and then scroll down, you will see "Insert Quote" on the top right of each post.

As per my understanding and knowledge that I have acquired from Google there are two wallets that are Privacy centric  and they are:

  • Wasabi Wallet
  • Mycelium Wallet

At the moment these two wallets are known to store Bitcoin. Wasabi is only available for desktop devices and Mycelium is only available for mobile devices.
As Mycelium allows you to use TOR network for transactions I am considering it to be Privacy centric.

Now, the question to all my fellow members is, do you know any other cryptocurrency wallet that provide the same kind of feature or as per is Privacy centric. I am looking for wallets that support not only Bitcoin but other cryptocurrency too.

Thanks.

If the ability to connect using tor classifies a wallet as privacy-centric according to your defenition, you should add electrum to your list since it supports connections over the tor router out of the box (click on the green button in the bottom right corner, go to the proxy tab). A lot of other wallets (like core) can also connect trough other nodes over the tor router.

Hey! Thanks.

In terms of privacy, Wasabi is perhaps the most frequently mentioned crypto wallet because it has a mixing service and integrated TOR and VPN, and honestly if I needed one such wallet that would be my first choice. When you already asked the question if there is anything else similar, I looked for crypto wallets that could fall into this category and found an article that gives a brief insight into the top 5 such wallets.

In addition to Wasabi, there was Samourai Mobile Wallet, BitLox Hardware Wallet, Rahakott Web Wallet and Electrum wallet on Tails OS. I have to admit I hear it for the first time for Rahakott Web Wallet, and that it would be my last choice because it is an online wallet. Samourai and also BitLox Hardware Wallet at first glance look like what you are looking for, but of course you should check what those who have used them say.
