There are news about scam wallets that are stealing coins, such as the mybtgwallet (Bitcoin Gold) and Coinpouch wallets:

Unless the wallet is open-source and you can audit the code yourself, your only option is search wallet which is trusted and open-source if possible.
Also, only download the wallet from the official website and verify MD5/CRC32/signature before install/use the wallet OR compile the wallet from the source yourself Smiley

Yeah it's very important to check MD5 of the binary because some people like for clean source and upload binary that was created from slightly different source. Tons of people got burned by that sort of scam - including me.

There are news about scam wallets that are stealing coins..So, is there any process/body to audit the wallets behavior??

Auditing source code/compiling wallet yourself is the only way to be sure that wallet is safe, really. If you lack the skills to do so (I certainly can't do more then just compile wallet from sources) - second best option is to download one of the trusted wallets from bitcoin.org

Remember anyone can take legit source, inject malicious code in it, compile and give it to you, so avoid downloading wallets from suspicious links, archives etc. Trust no one!

Take care.

Use open source wallets, especially popular ones, so if you can't audit it yourself someone else would have most likely audited it.

Just use the wallets found in: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
