I haven't registered on the site yet so couldnt continue to proceed with any of the deals offered in the marketplace.

If I remember correctly they removed their marketplace feature for a while now because not much people are buying and selling through their marketplace; as Purse.io is mostly just being used just to buy from Amazon using bitcoin anyway.
Maybe I had the two sections on their sites misinterpreted.
I was referring to their earn program on the site located here and currently with active orders.
https://purse.io/earn/btc
They still have the banner saying "15% off your order buying using bitcoin".
But anything being advertised on their site, since being saved from becoming a victim of folding, would have been updated since April's deal with this entity which has not been disclosed.

Here's their blog post discussing this: https://support.purse.io/en/articles/3851246-purse-is-saying-goodbye. They don't say whether or not they were actually bought over or whether anyone has contributed funding or support to keep them active:

If they do and did not before, then I guess we all have out answer. Lips sealed
They have accepted BCH for years, and their site is filled with the same nonsense that gets peddled on Ver's scam site, bitcoin.com. For example: https://blog.purse.io/bitcoin-cash-14bdb8e8c706

From what I'd read about it in the news and from a video I watched from R Ver at that time, he didn't acquire Purse.io. (at least it was the conclusion to me). He certainly invested money, I don't know under what condition, but he doesn't own it and doesn't have a majority in the shares...

I suppose he invested in just enough to let the company running and force it to add Btrash  as a condition to get his money

They say Roger Ver was one who was in talks with them but I doubt the owner of bitcoin.com would save a company which uses primarily (or did at the time I was checking out their site before the shutdown) bitcoinBTC and not the cash version of the cryptocurrency. Smiley
So it is highly doubtful he was the one with the buy out of the company purse.io Grin

I don't see any new headlines about the acquisition of Purse.io yet, but it's also definitely possible that it's Roger Ver regardless if BTC is the main coin that's used in the platform. He could always do something like give 5% discounts for BCH purchases and some other things to push his agenda.

After watching a recent video of coinbureau on how to they were able to spend crypto around the globe for flights and stuff. I noticed one of the services mentioned was defunct purse.io
The last I remember reading about their site was in the process of shutting down back in April.
So was surprised to see it being mentioned during this video released a couple of days ago saying they had used them for purchasing some things using crypto on amazon.

So after taking a few minutes of searching came up with an answer.
https://coingeek.com/purse-io-goes-from-shutting-down-to-getting-acquired

But my question is: Which company took them out from shutting down their site and ceasing all operations?
