For the past ~ week some group is dumping LTC, the goal is clear wait for MtGox and BUY cheap as mutch they can and earn 100%!
Many ppl/miners are stupid and sell cheap, when you see big drop by DUMP -> do NOT sell, BUY!

This is probably the safest way to lose money there is. Going against the market based on wild promises and the idea that a currency being placed on a new exchange somehow is going to raise the value.

wild promises, so you think MtGox is same vague organization, be realistic pls..........
you could ask MtGox about LTC and they will say its in the process duno whats wild about that

There are people who drop prices of alt.currencies intentionally. From what I remember seeing on exchanges, I can make real conclusion: somebody intentionally work on drooping prices, they even put big money in it.
Who else has noticed? Who are "they" and why they do this?  Maybe ASIC owners?

it can be any speculant with lot of BTC; or it can be just "us" - all wanting dump coin that we all know are quite useless

ding ding ding

Miners only are making a profit if they are turning their alts into BTC, aka dumping.  The amount of dumping of every alt exceeds the amount of speculators/investors willing to buy every day, which according to simple economics means prices will continue to plummet until the coin dies due to miner inactivity.

This isn't news to most miners, which is why they continue to dump further exacerbating the issue.  Unfortunately every coin has bagholders who will try and buy at the "great low prices" the "stupid miners" keep selling at, until they eventually give up and cash out as well.

Can any of these alts buck the trend?  Only DGC and WDC right now seem to have a shot at it with their respective community's support, but that still might not be enough to overcome the daily dumping.

Eh, someone who instamines 500k coins with 50 mh/s and has no energy to sit and trade daily but would rather just get rid of them before the coin dies anyway.

I believe that eventually things will settle down to 3 major coins, one worth approx 100 dollars, one at 10 and one at 1 dollar.
all the rest will eventually fade and die once the pumper dumpers move on with their profits.

True, but if you look at the "walls" and place your buys right above them, that's usually the turning point. Cuz the manipulators won't sell through a wall unless the wall is removed quickly.

You can never know. Only guess. Sometimes you buy coin cheap, but it's going only even more down.... Somebody intentionally destroying coins, not only by this, but by creating some crap-coins too... I wonder haw many different coins we will have in 1 year, some of them are already dead, but new are coming...

There are definitely pump and dumps on even the most major coins throughout the day, you'll see them on BTC-e.

I've come to the conclusion that BTC-e is where you make your money. The forum is where you lose it.

Set a buy order below market price, then sell those coins after the immediate pump. There is at least one small pump dump (actually, on BTC-e its typically a dump and pump) each day on each major coin. LTC, NMC are good long terms.
