Indeed! One of the best article that everyone should know. By reading this, it gives us the idea how an ICO work these days.
It's pretty funny though that it truly pointed out how easy it is to make your own project and start a funding. A simple concept added with an effort on advertising and designing can showcase a pretty view for the public (even without the products or the project itself).

tsk tsk, hard to know whats fraudulent these days
When you tried to see on the announcement section on this forum where there are lots of ICO been launched which would really give a tough job for us to pinpoint which is true and which is a complete fraud.Checking on the article I would say this is really happening and this is true on where anyone just can make a catchy name, get their hands dirty and put some efforts regarding on the visual or designs/template so that it would be more convincing.Talking on adjusting the invest counter is really possible that is why I do really check out the Funds address of a certain ICO because I can really find out if they do try to manipulate or not.

Complementing a coin or applauding the devs even if it isn't true does not directly saying or suggesting you to buy so I would not say that you are corrupting yourself.

Nice article, speak the truth about ICO and that's why there are more countries such as China, South Korea and Singapore have banned crowd funding based on Initial Coin Offerings. Therefore, everyone has to be careful and do your own research about legit and potential projects before invest, it's better to invest on some projects which already have a product to be marketed to judge how the market react to their products.
But, even a legit project could end in failure if people don't interested to invest on those projects, that's why it's so risky to invest bitcoin on ICOs which may cause a great loss for investors, unless they adopt escrow service.

It is indeed the truth about ICO and that is why the decision on regulating ICO is really a good decision made by some countries which would somehow lessen up the scam do exist on this field. On the article posted it is really obvious on that kind of scheme or steps which is costly but if the crowd did bite on the hype then it would really be an easy money for the owner of such coin.

That is why ICo is not a good option to invest than investing more in bitcoin.. There are mostly ICO's are shit that promoting in altcoin section there are some ICO are serious in project so it will be still depends in the background of ICO Roadmap or proof of work..
And if they are promoting their ICO without escrowing or manage by trusted members here that ICO will called shit  ICO's after release they will turn into scam.. If you really wanted to invest in less risk only bitcoin and other top rankings can gives you less risk..

If you seen there are high rank members promoting it better to check the background first of the member before you accusing him because not all will be guilty about what is in the link  you given its been a long time they are doing this and that's why invest that you can afford to lose..

Corrupting oneself to promote a fraudulent ICO.

IOW paying members to promote a scam. Higher ranked members.

Anyway beware i would say.
