I invested earlier this year and had profits. The advise is that it's best to go out when you are at the top. Meaning that if you buy cryptos and their prices have risen giving you good profits enough to satisfy you, you sell. Not wait and hold and be greedy. Never be greedy. I was one of those who invested early last year, and I realized that I am currently suffering deep losses but I am still holding my coins and waiting. I'm sure everything will go back up and all I need is to be patient.
Well, when we say investment, it is not only through monetary means, right? We can also invest time and effort here. Since, I don't have a source of funds to invest in cryptocurrency, the best thing I can do is to join some signature bounty campaigns to earn some coins. I started joining in this forum last December 2017, where the Bitcoin's price is at its peak. And joined signature campaign on February 2018. I don't have that much coin, but am slowly gaining it.
My first investment in crypocurrency was years ago.
My portfolio shrunk more than 70% in the first month.

I think the digital currency market is volatile and it can make people happy to make a lot of money but it can also lead to a shock when investments are shrinking. But that is the attraction of this secret market. For the people who invested earlier this year 2018 are having already good return of profit, because the price of cryptocurrencies last january are almost at the bottom line, and now the market price of all cryptocurrencies are on the middle line, so for the people who invested erlier I congratulates to all of you guys, hopefully you should still hold your cryptocurrency stocks and wait until the market price goes up to the higher level.

There is no such thing called the best time because no one knows how markets will move and we can't time the markets every time accurately. Just buy a small amount of coins whenever you think prices are good and just hold them to sell at profits.

If you have invested in some of the shit ICO projects then you may not recover back your money even markets recover fully. It has become a very challenging job to find out which ICO project is good and which one is a scam so I have almost stopped investing on these projects instead just buy the coins already in the market and happy with the profits I made from it.

The first you need to do is to study the art of investing. That's what you need in able to know what you are doing. Because investing in something does not make you an investor. A true Investor will always know what they are doing because in the first place, they won't enter something that they couldn't or wouldn't understand. That is the missing piece that you are looking for. You will not ask that kind of question here if you know what you are doing right ? sorry if i may sound a little bit harsh to you. You can't blame the market conditions alone for your losses. The quality of the ICOs have also gone down during the same time. When you compare the ICOs so far in 2018 with those in 2017, the difference is obvious.

I've am always buying the dips (BTFD). I never buy everything in one shot so I am always buying when the prices look good to me. Buy and hodling until I see profits from my investments.

I think the best step for now is to invest in crypto, because we have done the strong depression already, so the market now is willing to be up rose.
Please check last year graph while 2017 January ethereum peice less than 10$ then after ripple even few cents . So its better to invest on technologies if your invested in some popular tehnologies like NEO , TRX, EOS, IOST , NEM no need to worry about . You can relax until some time because these platforms . I mean mainet has to release and start to use lots of blockchain technologies.

I rather started selling to begin this year and i was shocked that the market really went down for so long, but during the downside of the market I bought many alts like eth, neo and omg. I also bought xvg about a month ago and it seems that it went well.
I invested earlier this 2018 and my strategy is to buy as many of my well researched coin while it is still cheap, plain old accumulating and buying the dip hopefully I get enough holdings until the next bullrun comes. I bought some coins below ico price. 😊
I invested earlier this year but I sincerely regretted that decision because not too long after I bought bitcoin when it was at $17,000, it started dropping till today it has never gone back to it's initially state. If I had waited a bit, to understudy the trend properly, I would have bought it when the price dropped and HODL. But that wasn't the case. But I think if one buys now, he would not regret his decision because the price has really dropped.

if you talk about the price now go down then if that are good for investing now or not i think even it's go down still it so high this january 2018 and it's 2x high compare to january 2017 so i go for investing if you ask me because i see in past december 2017 price of bitcoin go really high that we can't imagibe actually i buy 0.03 btc only now and i'm confused too but we need to move forward so think the possible that can happen like my 0.03 btc can turn to 0.1 btc

Markets are hard to predict. I do not think they will rise sharply in the future; Perhaps this is a manipulation of the market, I have heard information about CMC is manipulating the market, they have cheated in announcing the price of the altcoin.
yes I invested in last month and see the price seems confusing and still no price increase,and may wait another few months I think this time is the right time to invest and expect prices to rise by the end of the year, and if it does not rise at the end of the year it will wait until next year maybe that's all it can do hold until the price rises rather than swallowing losses.

I invested in January 2018. It seemed to me that the market would go up and I bought several coins. Later I realized that this was the wrong move. I sold some coins with losses around 15-30%. I think it's not a good time to invest now.
I haven't bought any altcoin since I learned how it will just give me an headache trying to fill taxes when try I cash out some of the gains into fiat. It's ridiculous that you are supposed to report every single trade. I did a ton of micro trading back then and I did it in exchanges which are now dead, and I lost the trading history, I can't even report these gains anymore as a result.
And now all exchanges require you to take a picture of you holding an ID, an electricity bill, and other nonsense. Who the hell wants to do that. Only exchanges with tiny volume still allow for some free trade (Livecoin, Cryptopia...) no altcoin interests me anymore. Im just holding Bitcoin and that is enough. If an interesting altcoin pops up then I'll consider allocating some of my coins into it.

First, I go to the cryptocurrency and buy some coin's it will go to HOLD and I think they will give me huge profit in future.
Unfortunately i made some investments for the long term of 3 to 6 months and for now i am in the loss, but with a risk and earnings strategy I'm not under pressure. In comparison last year this year of 2018 the flexibility of high and low increased by generating great risks.

Majority of the peoples are investing in earlier this year. But I decide to hold for two years because I am not a depends on my investment every month my salary is credit my account it is enough to my life. First we should decide long-term investment or short term investment then only we should choose the coin this my policy so best step is holding for long term. 
At what point you invested does not matter. What matters is the correct decision to make right now. If you think the price will drop further then you sell, even if it's at a loss. If you think it will increase then you hold. What actions you've taken in the past is completely sunk and should be wiped from your mind.

I think some of them might go as high and higher. The positive thing about this bear market is that all the projects that doesn't have a use case is flushed out. Projects with use cases is going to soar up though
