The altcoin zone is almost becoming a dump site for shitcoin.  With just anyone being able to come up with a token on any of the blockchain makes it easy to have shitcoins littered all over the place. But the question is; who is going to clean up the mess?  Natural death or a regulation is going good to be imposed later?
The market for cryptocurrencies has never been lacking in investors. Some projects that have no strength have died after a period of operation. This is no way. Therefore, we need to carefully choose the good project to invest.

The best way to establish order is to create general rules for conducting ICO. It is advisable to do this at the legislative level.
Now it has become very easy to start your project. Therefore, there are more and more scams. And this must be fought.

I think that unnecessary altcoins just need to be removed from the market and that's it. they are absolutely useless and unnecessary

As long as there's willing buyers you can't blame shitcoins for existing.
Regulation might give you a final pump while destroying the fundamental value of crypto.
A person's opinion on this subject depends on whether that person is willing to SELL his/her ideas for pennies. I am personally STRONGLY against regulation.

In my opinion, most altcoins will die naturally, because for the popularity of the coin, it must develop and have a team of developers or interest from the community. As practice shows, if the coin has no value and it is not necessary, it just stop using and it dies.

If we are expecting for natural things to happen then it will take more time and that will be no guarantee that those shitcoin will not be happening again and again. It means we must need regulation so that we will be having a cleaner environment which is more important for attracting new people into the system.

I believe those kind of garbage are more core reason why we are having such a downfall for the entire crypto markets. Yes, when there will be lots of scams are happening how we can attract new people into the crypto space. Mostly new investors are being convinced are through mouth of word by their friends and colleagues. When more people are sharing about their bitter experience with crypto environment, new investors may get panic to get into this space.

The market will purify them and as you see the market is purifying it. The scam and shitcoin projects are dying with a volume of only a few dozen or even $ 0
I have a few projects in my portfolio whose trading volume is $ 0. but I follow the projects and they do some development. I still believe

Natural death as the main thing  plus regulations, regulations will not clean everything and will not prevent shit-coins from appearing but it might have some positive effects, the natural death is the way to go and the natural death depends totally on investors, as long as there is money coming then scammers and shit-coins will not stops, when things dry up they will just stop. I think investors became smarter at the moment and we are already seeing the effect on shit-ICOs, a lot fo bad ICOs did not even raise $1 which is something great and is a reflection of the learning up-trend of the investors.

According to the portal Coinopsy in 2018 264 coins depreciated. The bearish market has played an important role in clearing the cryptocurrency market of bitcoins. I think that in the future the number of depreciating altcoins will only increase, because investors have become better versed in coins. In addition, large exchanges are launching training platforms that help beginners find promising coins and avoid fraudulent projects.

When I first the title I didn't understand what the question was about Cheesy. The altcoins that we do not really use or has insanely low volume usually go away in time or at least they are not really cared for after a while, even if they exist they basically gone from the hype they once had and now living on life support. We do not need a coin to be completely wiped from face of the earth because even if 2 people still use it that means it exists but its as gone as possible.

There are thousands of coins that was created and now "gone" but they are still somehow in some exchanges or at least wallets could be downloaded but that doesn't make them really relevant. The only coins people care about is top 250 coins and even some of those coins do not get enough attention, so aside from the top 20 coins the interest drops down a whole lot.

Regulations might be good to halt the new shitcoin popping out, but it will be a difficult task since all new coin only come with whitepaper and promises, let them die naturally will be the only way for now, I already saw a lot of alt coin dumping in the bottom with no value, this situation need to become main attention, this situation had caused alot of problems, the eth value dropping, the diversify of investment and the declining popularity of crypto

Of course the moderator has the authority to carry out garbage cleaning. Indeed, currently the altcoin zone is filled with shitcoin. I hope the moderator will check zones like this.

This thread has decreased my view about the reputation of Ethereum so far, I realized how garbage projects are created through smart contract of Ethereum. I hope soon, Vitalik will be responsible about it and put some filter on just legit projects.

regulations can not stop people from using the open source token creation steps that are free to use to create a shitcoin and make free money by dumping it on people who are more idiots than themselves.

the only thing that can clean up the market from the garbage is either time as they die of natural causes because they are shitcoins or if people stopped throwing away their money at them after learning more.

In the crypto market, no one prevents the development of a shitcoin and it will automatically be eliminated from the crypto market when it does not have the required capitalization. Our market always has adjustments and shitcoins will die very quickly.

When the  regulation comes into the ICO market, the campaigns will need to register and Scammers will not be able to enter this market. so I think you are wrong

These tokens will be erased from the market, there are at the most 150 or 200 decent projects in the market.  Most of the projects are just selling dreams they are not doing anything useful or tangible.

I think you are right about that, but the problem is only telling people who have dumped garbage, and what is garbage ?. As far as I can see, the people who moved here are new investors, they didn't know and got into garbage and had to clean them up  Roll Eyes

I think there are natural deaths taking place right now in the cryptocurrency space, many shitcoins are been shivered away because they could not stand the test of time, the investors are beginning to realized themselves, that's why you need to carry out a real study before you put in your money for any ICO project.

Before the natural death, people would have lost valuable resources in investing in that shitcoin. It is one of the disadvantages of this decentralized blockchain. However, campaign managers and bounty hunters have a role to play to curb these shitcoins. Duedelligence is the key to curbing the emergence of all these 'threats' to investment in blockchain.

Now there is a normal development of cryptocurrency. Since the cryptocurrency is decentralized and everyone has the ability to create coins or tokens, this process will be accompanied by the appearance of useless or simply fraudulent types of cryptocurrencies. This is absolutely normal and you should not worry about it. Over time, only promising and popular types of cryptocurrency will remain on the market, all the rest will be forgotten and will never appear on the market again.

the mere regulation alone is not enough to change the conditions that exist today. the garbage strewn happening will only give bad influence to others. not just the needed regulations alone but should also change the attitude of individuals like to do research in order to clean the crap that is.

I think there are many factors that need to be done to clean up the altcoin.
1. Investors stop buying altcoins that have no use value.
2. The hunter stopped participating in the promotion of these altcoins.
3. The country began to regulate and regulate the market.

If the market has been regulated we would have see all this things happen and that is why we need this market to be regulated and those garbage be block out. Most of the icos are scams projects and about 75% of the current tokens may not exist in the 2 years as many of them has been abandoned by the developers and some of the coins owners has not communicated to the investors for more than a year now.

The bear market will let these junk coins die naturally, but I don't think this will effectively stop their growth, so I think the market still needs to be regulated.

No administrative methods can be used to determine which altcoins should live and which should not. This process must remain decentralized. If you think there are a lot of useless coins and tokens among altcoins, just don’t use them. The market, namely the demand for cryptocurrency, itself determines which of them are useless and which will be in demand. The presence of any regulator in this regard will mean dictatorship and arbitrariness. Therefore, in terms of the number and variety of cryptocurrency, nothing needs to be changed. This issue is resolved by the market self-respecting.

No one will clean it later, they will die and disappear by themselves. Look at this time, no one cares about them and no one else is interested. Someday the best will compete tighter and continue to give the best to win the market, this is the proof and distinguish between them later.

I think unless it is well proven that the project is a scam, the moderator won't do much to stop most of these so call shitcoins that litter the forum. People just need to be wise and don't let anyone sell iron to them instead of Silver, those people that fall into their traps are the newbies into the space and those people that are greedy

The crypto selection will clean up the mess, and bitcoin will do the job by adjusting the price and will make the altcoin will adjust their price too. And if the altcoin cannot follow bitcoin, then the altcoin will not worth anymore and will die. It's happening in every time, if you check from year by year, there are many altcoins cannot survive, and finally, the coin is death. But one or more coin dies, there will be many more will be invented and will fill the emptiness in the cryptocurrency.

Garbage coins and tokens would die. There would be no one to trade them even in a DEX and people would change their wallets to get rid of such garbage tokens. For coins, there would no one be mining or staking and would take forever for a transaction.

There were days when the gambling section was full of Ponzis and scam accusations. At some point an "Investor based games" board was created for those and the forum became cleaner.

Maybe we need in altcoins too some sort of rule/category to split the proper projects from the bad ones. But I don't know if that is possible. Splitting tokens from coins would be an idea, but there are good tokens and bad tokens, and it's almost as easy to make a new shitcoin like a new token. Splitting into PoW vs "anything else" could be a start, but I don't know if it's good enough.

Maybe somebody has to do quite some thinking, discuss it and see if it gets traction. Any takers? Cheesy

it seems that nobody will solve this problem. shit coins will always be there whether it's from an airdops or a Scam project. this is because it's too easy to make tokens from smartcontrac. there should be a regulation about making tokens.

yes, exactly..as long as their are  people wants easy money, by just creating smart contract thru ethereum blockchain shitcoin will always be there.

If a token has no value and will not have support, it will soon die so natural death will take place. Cycle of life! Smiley
Once its not listed on exchange, i will even die before it can start. And if it don't get volume, exchanges will soon delist them too. No one cleaned them from the start but they end up swept away.
