Well I guess Curry will be MVP for this yr NBA 2019.
But if toronto Raptors win I choose Leonard for MVP.
Ley just wait and see for the result.

Raptors won the NBA finals and Leonard was declared as the Finals MVP.. congratulations to those who pick Leonard as their Finals MVP.

I think I need to lock this thread as it already served its purpose.

Game 3 is over and Kahwi put up another solid performance in their second win. With KD still ruled out for the next game, it looks like we're having a better picture now.

Yes. After game 3, I thought Curry edges Green now for the Finals MVP race. Kahwi is equally deserving as well.
If Raptors win in 5 or 6 games, Kahwi should get the MVP.

I'm gonna give it up for Curry to win the NBA Finals MVP, If he keeps up with his performance, even if the Raptors should eventually win the series he'd still beat Kawhi to the Trophy, IMO.

As for Kawhi, he's performance remains impeccable, and it'd be well deserved too if he wins it. I can't see any other player winning ahead of those two.

We'll have a better picture after Games 3 and 4. It's most likely Kahwi for the Raptors and Green for the Warriors.

KD was ruled out, but Klay is available, Warriors will play better compared to game 3 as they have one of the starters back in game 4.
If warriors wins tomorrow, the competition for the MVP between Curry and Kawhi is still close as they might both win the home court in game 5 and 6 and we will have game 7 in Toronto. I believe, this is likely what's going to happen as both teams always bounce back after a loss.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Finals MVP has only gone to someone on the losing team one time.  I know Lebron almost got it a few years back on the losing team but you have to do something truly spectacular for that to happen again.
This is what I know too. That's why I said "usually".

Not locking this thread, let's continue to discuss who shall win as the series is still alive, who knows we see some good value after game 3, then we will bet again.

Did you even realize that odds will be way more lowered while the game is progressing?

It was not lowered, the odds now for Curry has increase to 1.90, while for Leonard it was down to 1.95, these two players are probably the best choices to win the NBA finals MVP. If the Warriors will win game 4, probably back to the odds I shared first, but for the Warriors and Curry's fan, this is the value I am talking about.

Also, if you guys want to take the series bet, odds are both 1.90 to whoever win the series.

For those who like to bet on the Finals MVP and series bet, line is up at sportsbet.

All names in the list is very capable to become NBA MVP my bet is Stephen Curry he is very aggressive player to bring their team in to the champion.

I will still go for Curry, he's that good for me that I can't look into other players, although they are all suited candidates. He is just capable of leading the team to new heights, you can't find a team like warriors with curry pushing them towards the dream.

Did you even realize that odds will be way more lowered while the game is progressing?

Game 4 is coming and obviously, it's now down to Curry and Leonard as they have the most impressive stats from Game 1 to 3 and will surely increase more in the following games. Even Draymond Green, Iggy, Lowry, Siakam will produce 50 points next game, it won't change the possible Finals MVP candidates since aside from the obvious reason that it will not happen, just add that there will be surely contributions too from Leonard and Curry. Again, Finals MVP are stats gained from Finals Game 1 to where to it will end.

There is no reason now for this thread to exist. Take a look at some replies, not even close to what the topic is all about. You can all discuss this in the NBA thread instead.

Stephen Curry will always be my first and last choice when it comes to MVP as he's one of the best 3-pointers and easy-peasy 2 point throwers of NBA, one of the best dodgers and defenders of each and every season, a pro-active player who's having the ability to turn a lost match into a win any moment he starts throwing his 3s. I love this player as he is the definition of basketball for me.

Ofcourse I put my bet on Steph Curry

Because he is the only one that got the title of a six-time NBA All-Star, he has been named the NBA Most Valuable Player twice and won three NBA championships. So, thats why he is my idol and always support him.

Well, I think it would be Steph Curry. Just in their game today, he made a score of 43 points and that, as far as I can remember, was on 3rd quarter. (Just correct me if I'm wrong here.) Then the rest of the team scored 46 in total also around that quarter.

He is putting up crazy numbers for sure since he's carrying the Warriors with all those injuries. Kahwi is making another strong case for the finals MVP though. Another solid performance from him.

My choice is between Leonard and Curry.

To someone who has good stats lurking with the players, is KD still viable to get the finals MVP? it will be his third finals MVP if he's going to get it but with his conditions I don't he's still on the lead to this race.
Well Leonard has to improve his skills to beat the standing points of curry, either way he cannot do it for sure lol
Leonard still has big chances in case he has the same performance in the remaining matches as he had in match 2. He scored 34 points ,along with 13 rebounds and he was overall better than Curry in that match. Both Curry and Leonard are obviously the leaders of their teams and we shall see some great performance from both in the next coming games but keep in mind that KD will be back in he 3 or 4 and then the whole attention from Golden State will move on him
But of course we can’t tell what’s the real score since we are still have more games to compete ,though you are right on that as I have check the stats now,Leonard really did a great game in matches 2 and beating curry on that one
Yet we know Stephen Curry’s capacity to return on track ,let’s see what happen when the game resume and go to the home court of Golden states warriors

Hi fellas, I need your opinion on who will win this year's NBA Finals MVP.

Here are the odds from sportsbet

Curry 1.55 - Leonard 3.50- D. Green 6.50 - Thompson 25 - Durant 30 - Pascal 35

I am going to put my bet before game 3, and I was thinking of putting my bet on D. Green to win the Finals MVP.

Who's your pick and why?

Same goes with me. The way D Green played in this series, I am very convinced that if they win the championships he would be the finals mvp. Maybe it's too early to say but it was obvious that they would pull this through. Anyways if the raptors will make an upset, it would be Kawhi that will be the mvp.

I'm rooting for Curry, he is the new Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, he is the Warrior's go-to guy when clutch time, we only have two games in the finals, but in the succeeding games he will take over and give the championship to the Warriors, just like what he did in the past.

Curry has not convinced me much this season to be MVP despite being bookies favourite, but if am going to some money on this it has to be either Leonard or D Green, Durant just lacks the consistency but he would be the surprise package.

Man that Raptors team got game such that GSW can't stop them either🔥

They have better, you are correct, but Kawhi does not have a chance to win if they will loss in the series, but Green has.
Additional, Stephen Curry I think has injury which is illness. This could be an additional chance for Draymond Green to get the final MVP. The odds is pretty nice for Draymond Green  Cheesy.
But the injuries of different player of Golden State Warriors could lead to their lose to Toronto Raptors and Kawhi Leonard could be also possible to become finals MVP  Grin

If between Leonard for raptors and Curry for warriors just because of big impact to their team and with their stats as well then they must be sure to win the series first to get that final MVP , but  I'm going to bet for Leonard and the team raptors.
So you go for Leonard to get the MVP trophy while i choose Siakam to be the MVP if the Raptors win the championship series and it is some sort of a jackpot if Siakam will be chosen as the odds for him to be MVP is 28 i think.
It's also possible, remember those days when Iggy grab the finals MVP, winning this trophy even he's not the named star from the franchise, many expect that Curry will win this as he really created his own stardom in this series.

If Siakam will win it will be a blowout for you, but first raptors need to win this series and claimed the title for their first ever league Title.

Leonard plays a crucial role in making the Raptors play in the Finals I'm sure he will play a lot of great basketball in the final so far the match is even but in my opinion Warriors will keep the title but the MVP will belong to Leonard he is the rejuvenated Leonard.

I'll go for Stephen Curry, he is the Warriors clutch player who delivers the goods when they need it badly, he has proven that so many times in the past and this year is no different, he keeps getting better every year and as long as they have the same starting five, they will always win the finals.

As we all knew it Steph Curry has been doing such good performances with his previous legacy in basket, so there's no wonder he'll become the potential NBA finals mvp. Hopefully he can do it by success during the finals game, although the court was so hard to beat due to more player around him whose capable to achieve that title. However, as long as he maintained that stable and strong playing skills it's not impossible to happen as long as their team render the best team up, which shows up synchronized team play.

It is Kevin Durant for me though my second choice is Stephen Curry

KD has won the title once and will get this one again

But of course everything will be place after the last game

Kevin Durant is obviously out now in the MVP finals race. He is missing in action in Game 1 and 2 and not expected to play in Game 3. Curry and others already produced impressive stats these finals and even KD will return on Game 4, I doubt he can still make it. Finals MVP is all purely based on Finals stats and not playoffs if you don't know.

To OP, let's put it this way:

a) if your deadline of choosing is before Game 3 take the risks and choose now based on your analyzation. There are Game 1 and 2 stats available on the web and you can check who's leading there. From there, decide and speculate.

b) if you are fine with much lower odds after Game 3 result, then wait for it. Game 3 stats will be an additional and useful reference for creating another speculation.

There's still more games for them so it would be enough for Leonard to be a candidate for finals MVP. Leonard is an all package for me and every player does have to improve their skills.

^ as mentioned, Leonard's performances has always been good. The guy is exceptional although the crowd mostly go for the Golden State Warrior players because they are on advantage due to the odds.

We can check the stats in the last 2 games and see which player deserves the win, and here's the result based on my manual calculation (let me know if there's an error)

Stephen curry - points ave.- 28.5 assist ave - 4.5 rebounds ave - 4

Draymond Green- points ave 13.5  assist ave -9.5 rebounds ave - 10

By the way, you can check this criteria in deciding the NBA Finals MVP - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Russell_NBA_Finals_Most_Valuable_Player_Award

Remember that it's not only about the scoring or the stats, but mostly on his contribution to the team.
Last 2015 NBA Finals, Andre Iguodala won the finals MVP with an average of 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the series.
The stats was not impressive, therefore Green has a chance to win his first MVP award here as his average is almost triple double.

This is a good base up for those people who do believe that stats do really matter but it wont really work that way when choosing up NBA finals MVP.

Green do really have the chance to pull this award off but somehow as expected Curry would always be the crowds favorite or a strong candidate too but Green
bet would be a worthy shot.

I guess it Draymond Green and not Danny Green,Anyway it will really affect the decision depending on the champion team and I guess if Raptors will win its 100% that its Leonard because of his consistensy and contribution. If GSW I think Curry will have a great competition to Green and Iguodala again.

Two obvious candidates, Leonard and Curry. But then again, Iggy proved that he can rise to the occasions and be an MVP again. That last shot in last game proved that he can do it. Also, I don't know that statistics about it, but usually the MVP should come from the winning team, so it GSW win, then Curry or Iggy or Green can get it, if Toronto wins then it will be Kawhi Leonard.

Just bet on Dreymond Green 5.50 to be the MVP on this Finals since he contributed a lot on the two games, one assist shy of having a triple double in game 2.

They been saying this "Offense wins games, defense wins Championships" so with this i think Dreymond Green is the most likely to be MVP if he continue to limit Siakam which for me is the biggest factor why Raptors have a chance to steal the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Although I am not too often to watch NBA sports, I think that will be interesting to know who will be the winner.
From the other site, I see that Stephen Curry have a big chance to win and I see that many people have voted him.
But let's watch the game, so we know who will be the winner.
This is a very helpful link appreciate you for posting this

Not because Curry is the favorite, he will be the finals MVP.

First of all, FINALS MVP only includes FINALS STATS and not the Playoffs stats. Therefore in the span of the maximum 7 games, there are other players that might surprise us in the end. Remember when Igoudala makes his first FINALS MVP?

And lastly and more importantly, for Curry or Igoudala or D. Green or for other Warriors to win MVP, they need to become a champion first.

Now with Toronto, Game 1 seems belong to Paskal Siakam. If that performance will maintain (although he was being limited in Game 2), there is a chance that he will become the Finals MVP even obviously Kawhi Leonard does have an impressive performance throughout the playoffs. And there are other Raptors players who might have chances.

And again, lastly and more importantly, Raptors need to acquire the Larry O' Brien first before that will happen.

The series is unpredictable and even how well analysis here is, it can't increase your chances. The finals are not between the few superstars anymore as backup players are now stepping up each game.

Yours to decide if you want to play your money on a @1.5 odds for Curry or @6 for D. Green. Analyzed the stats from Game 1 to 2. Goodluck.

I do love D. Green way back when he’s still on the Spurs but this season, GSW really have the advantage to take home the crown. I would like to see Thompson to become the MVP because he’s doing a great job ever since and we can expect that we will do everything to help the team, Curry is given to be good and KD so those are the big three to watch for.
Thompson has the abilities necessary to become an MVP but it's unlikely to see him winning that award because his performance is fluctuating a lot from match to match. One day he scores 30+,next day under 20. The odds of him winning the MVP are 25 and that says  it all about his chances. Anyway, it's still a good player to watch because he needs to start scoring more since KD is still missing.

Yes for sure Stephen Currey if Golden State win the finals because he have all like base in his strategy, shooting and passing then with many points in a game of course he's going to MVP

Then in Raptors i think Leonard and in 2014 he already go with MVP but i'm not sure another thing he is the one only that can make a lot of points like in their whole team so bet in Kawhi OP

I am also a GSW fan so I think I will be biased with my pick since I am a huge fan of most players of the Golden State Warriors, And most of the pick I have seen so far were all with Curry and an article that he might have a huge vote because he is a favorite among the group, But apart from Stephen Curry I really think that DeMarcus Cousins had a huge contribution with the second game of the finals against the Toronto Raptors with an incredible performance of defense and giving his best so the points will not go much further so I might say his addition for the team has a big impact,

And If I would pick any player on the Raptors side I might go with Pascal Siakam in scoring a remarkable game in the first game.

Both Curry and Leonard are obviously the leaders of their teams and we shall see some great performance from both in the next coming games but keep in mind that KD will be back in he 3 or 4 and then the whole attention from Golden State will move on him
Leonard is a sure win, but that is only possible if they can upset the Warriors in this series.
Raptors to win the NBA Finals and Leonard as Finals MVP, that would be a great news in the world of sports, but they have lesser chances now based on the betting odds.

According to this site, Stephen Curry is on the first list from all of the voters, so I think I will choose him too Grin
Although I am not too often to watch NBA sports, I think that will be interesting to know who will be the winner.
From the other site, I see that Stephen Curry have a big chance to win and I see that many people have voted him.
But let's watch the game, so we know who will be the winner.

No other than Stephen Curry and that’s a 100% sure for me.

Obviously am biased since I am a big Fan of GSW and I hate the presence of Kevin Durant there, the Golden State Warriors can win a championship without him

My choice is between Leonard and Curry.

Stephen Curry is still best and Im really sure he is going to be MVP for the year 2019 one of the best and I like to him is he is 3 point shooter and mostly those are always shoot.  But still unknown which among of them are going to become MVP. But what ever the resul atleast all players this year do their best to enjoy their fans in the whole world.

Obviously Curry is the big favorite here because he has the best stats so far when talking about points and assists and he's also appeared in 4 finals before winning 3 championships but still didn't managed to win a Final MVP award even though he has broken record after record during regular season. Honestly I would choose between him and Leonard and it's all going to depend on their performances in the next games. I think Leonard still has a good chance at winning it if he comes back with a great performance in game 3 but Curry knows this is his year especially because KD ,who's won the last 2 times, is missing for this final. Anyway, there's still a lot to be played and all 3 have more than enough time to prove they deserve the Finals MVP
