It might be me; it's almost certainly someone I know. (Or at least have met)

I went to college with a lot of the folks at Dwolla now, or various businesses in the DSM area that hire ISU grads. Ton of comp sci and comp eng majors there. Tons in MIS too, or was when I went through there.

The one thing I'm liking less about the Silicon Prairie every day is the pretentious types that don't have sound business plans or just plain dishonest practices. IMHO, Dwolla kind of got lucky, Bitcoin drove their early success and got them the name recognition they needed to establish themselves here. Now every local banker is looking for a "computer kid" with the next Dwolla-like plan.

Never met Grant and I live here in DSM. I have met Shane once over a year-and-a-half ago and he doesn't look like that in person.

At the moment, I'm inclined to lean toward repentance's assessment, albeit I'm surprised that Grant follows a lot of the same people.

There is one named Bitcoiner that does have different names attached to his avatar that I've yet to publish, but not yet sure what name he goes under on this forum, if at all, but would be surprised if he's not registered here. He clearly has used the same avatar for various sites, but under a different name, and even has registered domain names under his various pseudonyms.

There are plenty of photos of Shane Neurerburg online and he looks nothing like Grant Awes.  My guess is that "Editor", who wrote the techfundz post on Dwolla, didn't bother checking the images they were posting.  Shane Neurerburg also attended college in a different state than Grant Awes.

Silicon Prairie News has done articles on both Grant Awes and Shane Neurerburg and both articles included a photo.  The photos were not the same.

http://www.siliconprairienews.com/2012/02/prairie-portrait-grant-awes-senior-at-iowa-state-university.

GIS also returns images for Shane Neuerburg and they're of the guy whose photo appears in the "Handing Over the Keys" Silicone Prairie News article, not the guy whose image appears in the techfundz blog post.

Take a look at who Grant, a.k.a. Shane, follows: http://www.quora.com/Grant-Awes/following

Doesn't anybody find it strange the co-founder of Dwolla goes by a different name and just so happens to part ways with Ben/Dwolla?

Isnt that what Zhoutung had some where..?   I read it, had dejavu..   I've read it before somewhere..

Spell it out for us..

Albeit only circumstantial evidence, this is the quote that I probably was in reference to, although I, too, thought I read a similar passage elsewhere: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.673426

I bought my first stock in Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2006 when I was 12. It's not a game.

My advisor doesn't take charge of Bitcoinica operations, and I don't pay him. I help him with his new social marketing venture and he helps me confirm the viability of the features that I purpose.

I did everything on my own.

Grant is an Senior at Iowa State University working to expand his professional experience through class studies and involvement with several organizations on campus, while maintaining a strong work ethic with classes. He has maintained an emphasis of working with Digital Media on campus, mainly based on Social Media platforms and content management systems, all of which involved leadership roles. He's currently living in Des Moines, socializing within the Silicon Prairie on a regular basis.

Same guy? http://www.webhostingtalk.com/archive/index.php/t-238558.html

Hello,

I am currently a senior in high school with 5 years of PHP/MySQL development experience (yes, I started at the age of 12/13). I have done a full fledged forum and have helped developing another one. I have created a guestbook, two news scripts (one flatfile and one MySQL), a portal script, and many (did I say MANY) small scripts for various clients.

I would love to obtain a rewarding job with a web development firm. I am willing to work part time (5 hours a day) from now until my completion of college (UND in Computer Science). At that point, I will consider moving to full time if needed. During summers, I will also then be able to work full time.

I have many references if you need them, and I will show you any of my work at your request.

I am also available for freelance coding until I have started working part time.

My email is [email protected] and I can also be contacted via AIM at CXProgramming.

Thanks for your consideration!

Shane

Now where I have seen the following quote before?
