The operator of satoshidice is Rakki N.V. and Rakki N.V. is "licensed" by curacao-egaming.com A Curacao eGaming license is wortless for players, but you can initiate legal action in Curacao if something will happen.

N.V. = naamloze vennootschap and this literally means "nameless partnership" or "anonymous venture" and comes from the fact that the partners (the shareholders) are not directly known.

If this is a fact, nice fact for this. Do you have source of it or link so that we can base from it? Surely they want to remain anonymously if that is true, venture that wants to hide its identity but I guess it is better if they are going to let their gamblers who they are, the people behind the operation of satoshidice. But whatever it is, as long as they are going to fix their issues that will be better.

What issues has satoshidice?

If you guess it is better to let their gamblers know who the owner is, why do you promote betcoin.ag who even do not state the operator and make false and misleading statements about the applicable jurisdiction?

And what makes PrimeDice more reputable over the rest?
Primedice is running smoothly for many years and they have earned really huge amount of trust over time from members of this forum. Atleast you can be sure about being in good hands if you play in primedice. I don't think they will run away with your small amount of bitcoin ruining their hard earned reputation so if you don't have confidence to play in satoshidice you can try primedice.

Who's the owner of SatoshiDice after the original owners sold it?

What's the point of knowing it anyway? For sure the new owners would be really taking care of the business as it would be generating a lot of revenues. The site is one of the most popular bitcoin gambling site around and it is still doing well as a what it was intended to do. If there would be a scam, for sure we would already know about it.

A rumor is out there that the site is operated by and licensed under a Costa Rica company, Blockchain Limitada, however, googling the name shows no results. It's mysterious, but so far I think they are doing a good job.

Hopefully they will resolve the issue with the DDoS attacks as soon as possible in order to continue service.

Never knew the had DDoS attack, maybe I started late.

Hypothetically, they can actually take off with our bitcoins right, and we have no one to claim responsibility?

Yup, they can definitely do that. However, that rule tends to apply to all bitcoin casinos as most of them have WHOIS protection and can only be linked back to their bitcointalk account used to make the announcement thread for their site.

If you are worried about this, perhaps use a very reputable dice site such as PrimeDice, etc.

Satoshi Dice is still down, so hopefully they are working to fix the site and not running with bitcoins. I wish them the best in their endeavors.

They are up at my place.

And what makes PrimeDice more reputable over the rest?

as feedback says they are running a good service and players are happy for their fairness and for their giveaways, and for sustaining their business for so many years i think gamblers attention surely caught by them, since they can trust their reputation and actually we can see it in their thread feedbacks, but if you got a doubt among them just contact stunna so you can get proper answer from them.

Because Primedice runs over a year and without any major issue of cheating or scam attempt. They almost payout tons of btc and still operating. You can see how reputanle is Primedice by visiting stunna(admin of PD) profiles trust.

The new team is very polite and easy to work with. Still one of the best BTC casinos in my mind.

A mysterious group bought satoshidice with 100K BTC from eric voorhees' hand. It is a bad trading and acquisition. Because after that deal, many good dice sites released, just-dice, primedice, betking and so forth. They take more market share than current one.

I did read about the trade at that time and that it was sold for a ridiculous sum of BTC at that time, the articles didn't mention a buyer name so I guess it was an anonymous purchase which is not that awkward with BTC at that time.

The fun thing is that the initial buy price this site is so big "compared with other dice sites starting and evolving overtime like Primedice and Justdice" yet the administration is very lax with plenty of support issues specially before and frequent off-line time.
