Nope, but he sure is on the trail to one, only if theymos' recognized the talent. He even beats me at reporting Grin

Not exactly, members are promoted to staff when
1) The moderator for one board is needed, mostly Local boards these days and the member is known to have good decision skills and a good history(at least a neutral one)
2) Spam can't be handled by current mods(highly unlikely as there are loads of patrollers)
3) theymos thinks the person should be promoted to staff, due to high amounts of reports/accuracy or whatever his secret "formula" is.

That's false. Staff members can change their display names, just like Donators and VIP's.

Just create new account with name you like or buy one at digital services.
You can become full member after almost 3 months..
I dont see special need for changing names?

Rarely you can get a change without any real reason (I got mine changed just to shorten it up). If you have been around a while and contribute they will possibly hook you up.

Change in business name , some small corrections if you're a high ranked member(Blazedout419->Blazed) and once done for unknown reasons for --Encrypted-- are the only times I know when name changes were granted by theymos

I may or may not know what Lauda aka LaudaM aka -REDACTED- is refering to.

I am pretty sure though that staff has the same privileges as VIP and/or donator and that they can change their name freely without asking for permission from theymos. I also know that neither the userid nor the login name is changed and that the name in question can not be taken by another user.

I asked the OP how and why, because I have seen theymos grant small changes (in terms of Hamming distance if you will).

You need to ask The admins and give him a good and valid reason for it, if you want to change it just for fun then i don't think he will do it as it's just a complete waste of time Tongue
