Woohoo! I win!
Grin

To be honest, if I do get some spare change from this, I'll probably toss it over to the GUIMiner dev.

You didn't win though Smiley.    Slush got the first 25 BTC block, not the last 50 BTC block.

0.0001 BTC says Slush's 2THash/s pool gets it.

First one to link me something saying otherwise gets the little payout.

If I win, well, anyone can chip in. xD

I will place my money with deepbit just for fun. We should start a real thread for this. Too bad we don't have a secure service for betting huh?

BTC Guild snagged the last one Smiley.

it can still be orphaned, but chances are low ; )
congrats and waiting for the first 25 btc block

Could get orphaned, but it would require malicious action since nobody on the network sent a competing block for the last 10 minutes Smiley, so they'd have to have found one, held onto it, and worked on finding a block to put on top of it without broadcasting the original one.

It was fun to just stare at blockchain.info for those last few blocks to see who would snag it though!

I was staring at bitcoinmonitor.com looking for new block broadcasts
you're absolutely right with the orphan/race stuff

I agree, it is quite interesting to watch. Also interesting to see that 80% of all the scrolling transactions are for SatoshiDice haha

I think it could be between the guild and slush's pool.

Odds are some wee lonestar miner will land on it and lord it over the rest of you for years to come or sell the whole block at an exorbitant price while its got some hype behind it

Are the pools doing anything for their members if they happen to solve this special needs block?

We have for awhile. http://betsofbitco.in/

Yeah, The only issue is that people are really skeptical of how the betting system works on the site and therefore just run away.

I'm switching to solo for the final 24 hours in hopes of grabbing the priced final 50 bitcoin block.
