You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
I vote for Maged because he's all business. If he posts it's related to the business of moderation. On rare occasions he posts a personal response. If you don't believe me look up his posts.

What you will see mostly is:

The only thing that Maged has ever done that I didn't like is perma-banning MPOE-PR. The crazy fucker deserved the ban but that transvestites posts were so much fun to read. lol

Most of the mod jobs are behind the scenes, so I think only the high rank guys can have an opinion on that.

And hilariousandco has power only among the newbies, so can't say if he is elegible

A lot of us do a lot of moderation very quietly and only a small proportion of our activity is visible to users. Ideally moderation should interrupt the forums as little as possible but just quietly put things into their place and improve the signal to noise ratio without you even noticing.

How do you choose the best when you don't even know moderators actions? This looks like a "who do you like more" or "which moderator is more popular" thread.

It also reminds me this.

Not to nitpick but it's "Who's the best Bitcointalk moderator? (Moderator of the month)". Grin

Back on topic, I'd probably say it's Badbear or malevolent - they really do a lot of work: moderation, helping out users, etc.

Well thanks for the appreciation, but I'm not a fan of popularity contests and I don't think the other staff would be bothered about trying to win it either, but like has already been mentioned it's hard for you guys to guage how much work a specific moderator puts in. I may only seem like I might be doing more because I'm more active posting on the forums than a lot of the other mods, but that doesn't mean to say I am doing more work and they are doing less. Some mods post very little but they are often very busy behind the scenes. I probably don't do much compared to Badbear or some other global mods but I do what I can when I can.

Id argue that this is highly subjective and depends greatly on the subboards you frequently read. I for myself barely see any actions by Hilariousandco, but plenty by grue and gmaxwell. I also know that the "MOVED: *title*" threads are optional, so many actions by mods are not seen by the community. I also suspect that the admins and global mods do lots of work, but I have no way to judge that.

Yeah, I prefer not to leave the 'ghost threads' behind and have only used them a few times when necessary.  Don't want all my posts to be MOVED etc and I'll usually just PM the user instead if it's a rule or something they weren't aware of.

Exactly. We have no idea (at least not the full picture) on how much work each mod has done (move threads, delete threads, ban users, nuke users), and it is unfair to make judgment in such situation IMO.

Overall I think this "poll" is a bad idea, oh and you posted it in the wrong section.

I don't think I can make a poll now that I've started this but everyone says their name and then I'll add them together who got the most votes. Hilariousandco has got 2 votes and no one else has got any.

Yeah make a poll but yes Hilariousandco is probably one of the ones that does the most work and contributes the most to Bitcoin we are lucky to have him.
