Could you suggest topics where worth writing HQ comments (and can get merit. many of you mentioned not altcoins, since it's full of spams, but then which ones?)

Beside Quality post you need that your comment interesting to read. And I suggest to comment on first page, so people will see your comment.

Merit system is a fair and a great advantage to this forum.

If you are willing to have some merit; based on my experience, I think, its all about giving a valuable and informative post which is of good help to others.

The more informative and helpful it is to a member, more the chances of you receiving a merit.

Good luck.

Maybe to you it is of good quality post but for some it isn’t. Good quality posts is not just about perfect sentence construction but the topic and comment have to coincide with each other and that your thoughts are different and have not been said by other people in this forum (which is hard to do now).

I dont have merit yet but am still learning and doing my best to contribute to this awesome community.

Sometimes I asked questions and sometimes I answer other's questions. But haven really expect any merit because there are alot people much more pro than me

You've made over 400 posts, but when I look at your post history, I can only see 14 of your posts. This means that the others have been made on boards that I ignore. These are all the local language ones ( because I don't speak the languages), and all of the bounty and altcoin ones ( because they seem to be spam fests, and many of the products are scams ). Serious discussion is a good board to visit if you are making quality posts. Beginners and Bitcoin discussion should be good, but they seem to be filled with spam and rubbish post by members concerned with increasing their post count and activity.

Are you serious? Bitcoin discussion and bounty posts. really? Man you must be on drugs if you think they are worthy of merit

I'm on a hunt for meritable posts, and I awarded a merit to TMAN for this post because it sums up things ( well maybe not the drugs bit). I would have added off topic to Bitcoin discussion as well. TryNinja made the same point as well, so I'll give him a merit.

I'm getting fed up with only being able to find posts about merit that are worthy of merit. Whatever happened to the interesting discussions about Bitcoin and the world economy. If you want merits, then try making original posts about Bitcoin.

I think one of the problems with the merit system is that many people are not motivated enough to give merits. Most members have merits to give, but just don't.

I suggest a possible solution where the giver also gets merits whenever they give out merits. For example, for every 3 merits, you get 1 s-merit, and whenever you give someone a merit, you also get 1/2 merit yourself.

Well said dear. It's correct that most of people are not motivated to give merit to new member. Even I have seen some one post good and something learnable. But they also didn't get merit. If seniors not help then new can't go ahead.

You have to accept the fact that not all high quality content will get merits, maybe some of your high quality replies are not seen by a potential merit giver.

Try to be more patient and dont aim for merits everytime you do good things, do it for forum contribution without expecting merits in return maybe someday they will find our post and give merits or not just let merits come to you dont wait for it. Everything will come in the right time. Smiley

The most important you can do is dont stop learning and improve everytime knowledge hits you never dont ignore it.

People dont give merit often. You need to be very patient and just be yourself, write quality posts.
Thats it, you can't do anything else here. Time will verify your quality. Good luck and have fun!

I think this is also disadvantage of new merits.

The new merit system: The good, the bad, and the ugly!

The good: Only the quality posters will rank up.

The bad: Even if you post quality contents you may not get many merits by the people.

The ugly: When you post great content many people are lazy to click and go to the next page and add the merit(s).

Share your thoughts about this merit system latest development, thanks Smiley

maybe just a quality post will get merit, and it's very difficult to make a quality post.

Many of your comments don't really say anything. They read like something a bot would write. You're not expressing your opinions or thoughts. You're just repeating the obvious much of the time. Many a reader would gloss straight over it.

You must have your own angles on things. Let's hear them.

And like others have said the Bitcoin discussion section is borderline worthless. The most merit heavy people probably don't bother going there any more. It's filled with worthless shit.

People with merit to give usually only hang out in certain sub forums and certain language areas Don't get any merit.  Altcoin section doesn't have many legendary members hanging out.

Collect all your best replies and post that you think will earn merit but never been given attention
Post it on theymos post about the merit creation and rules, (the links of your post only) their they will evaluate it there and you can complain as much as you want if they didn't give you points... good luck.

Most of the posts you made in the Bitcoin Discussion board are not merit worthy. And even if they are, the whole section is a spamfest. I took a look at a few of them and some of them were made after ~15 pages of spam and shitposts. It's not like a merit source or regular user will go through this amount of spam to try finding good posts to help.

Your post (being HQ or not) will also get buried pretty quick by the other shitposters. That's why I avoid posting at the Bitcoin Discussion board.

BTW, the amount of "bounty posts" you make aren't helping either.

But you did get merits, didn't you? Since whether a post is of "high quality" is an equally highly subjective matter you can't expect to get merited for every post that has more than 100 words in it. Don't focus on the merits, focus on the content, try to learn things and give back your knowledge. This has far more value in the long run, for you and for the forum.

maybe in your mind you think your posts are good and deserve merits but it not up to you to decide if they are.
and just a litle advice you may want to stay away from Bitcoin Discussion board, its really not a place you can get merits from because if full of spam.

It's simply because it's probably not good or sort of "in-depth" enough. Also remember that generic posts/replies don't usually get merits. sMerits are limited, so people who have it are probably saving them up for those better quality replies.
