Majority of the terrorist are muslims but not all of muslims are terrorist. I've know a lot of muslims that are good people who help others. It's a stigma they carry but we don't have to let them feel this way.

Muslims are aggressive from ancient ages only. In the ages of kings it were the muslim rulers that conquered large territories

Mostly because people are stupid, narrow minded imbeciles. I'm sorry if you're one of these people but this is my opinion. A prejudice against and entire religious faith simply because a a small radical sect of their community chose to twist their holy text and started killing off people. Be mad at them not the whole sect. It's like saying all apples are red simply because you haven't seen a green one. Let's understand each other so we can move forward together.

it's not what you should be asking.  You should be asking, what does the media get by denigrating an entire community.

I could not have put it better myself . Mass media are manipulating the news about islamic societies and This situation makes all of the muslims look like bloody horrible manslayers. But, the reality is not similar to this manipulated reality.

There are many reasons for it one of the strongest is that by survey we see all the terrorists killed till now are muslims

I wouldn't go to the extent of saying that all the terrorists are Muslims. There are a lot of non-Muslim terrorist groups out there, such as the ETA of Spain and the ELN of Colombia. But when it comes to religion-based terrorism, Muslim groups are involved in 99.99% of the incidents.

Replying to your bold part. Why muslim groups are involved mostly in such incident ?

One thing which islam teaches is " Hurriyat " - " Freedom " ... God made u free man, so stay free and think free.

While West don't want humans to think free or do free. There is what clash starts. This was used by USA against Russia due to Oppression on Muslims in Chechania and the rise of Voice for freedom was picked by USA to destroy Russia, in which Afghans , Pakistani, Iranis are getting used by providing weapons.

Even if USA not gave them support , they will get freedom ( may be in 100 years but they will get bcoz of struggles they started ) , same like u can see in Gaza where small small groups are continously working against Israeli occupation on there lands. One day they will get freedom bcoz they decided not to surrender.

That is what Oppressor don't like , and that is why he gave them name " TERRORIST "

Because Islam is teaching not to accept Oppression , so obviously those who will raise  there voice against Oppression are treated as Enemies. And Oppressor if used weapon then resistance too is force to use weapons. And that is what happening everywhere.

I hope u understand what i wrote.

Lots of people just do not understand the difference between Muslims and radical Islamists. All of them practice Islam but interpret commandments differently. Some of them are peaceful and some of them prefer radical forms of struggle. Stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists came from the fact that the modern form of terrorism was born in Middle East where the majority of population practice Islam. The modern form of terrorism doesn't have any political aim. Its aim is to destabilize the world's system of international relations

The reason? The news that media display to influence people thoughts.
Thats true. The media is the reason why muslims are bad at appearance to people.
The people become a racist because of them.

Now you are blaming the media. From what I have seen, many of the mainstream media outlets are having a positive bias for Muslims. Whenever they get an opportunity, they try to portray the Muslims as a peaceful and hard working people. And they always try to hide the crimes committed by the Muslims. If you have any doubt regarding this, then please ask someone who is living in Rotherham.

Let me say it again louder for the people in the back: Muslims are not terrorists! Yes, there are terrorist groups that practice Islam and preach about Islam being superior over all others, but is every Muslim a part of those groups? No, in fact, I am 100 percent sure that not every single Muslim on this Earth is a part of a terrorism group. When the KKK rose up people didn't automatically assume that every white Christian was a member. So why is this such a common belief now? The Islam terror groups that are floating around now are made up of the radical members of the religion. As we've seen repeated throughout history many, many times, there are radicals in every religion.

It is time to stop assuming every Muslim you see on the street is out to get you and your country. It is time to stop treating people of the Islam faith differently because they aren't like us. People tend to fear those who are different from them, that is clear as day now. Yes, there are Muslims who are in terrorist groups but that is only a small portion of the very large population. It is time to stop fearing those of different religions because of who they could be. You could meet hundreds of people every day who could also be terrorists or serial killers and yet you only fear those who practice a religion different from yours.

It's because they believe they'll get 90 or 60 virgins in their after they blow themselves (dunno the number, forgot)

but in Koran, it says they'll actually get 90 or 60 of them fig

It is under dispute. Some of the "scholars" say that you will only get 72 virgins (all female) once you murder the infidels during Jihad. But some of the other sources say that in addition to these 72 virgin girls, another 24 Gillman (young boys) will be provided as well. But still, it is hard to believe that even in the 21st century there are people who are wiling to believe in these myths.

Terrorism should not have been generalized with the faith of a person.
Yet, muslims or the follower of Islam are looked as a terrorist around the world. (we might not but the majority of world does.)
What could be the reason for such stereotype?

I think the reason is they live at decentrelized place thats why they have their own personality and own goals in life.

We have to think about it, can you make me a list of people who are terrorist but not Muslim and not following Islam. And In the same way can you make a list of the terrorist who are Muslim and following Islam.

Make it asap and the rest of world is able to understand that Islam has no relation to terrorism.

I'm waiting for your reply.

The IRA, Aum Shinrikyo (before the split), and I think Greenpeace was also put on the terrorist watch list at some point.

Though I do agree with nitehawk that "the writings of the Quran can be misinterpreted far more easily than other types of religions." which leads to a larger population of Muslims being associated with terrorism.

To say that the IRA was an terrorist organization based solely on religion is an outright lie. The IRA was dedicated to uniting the Republic of Ireland with Northern Ireland. The fact that the majority of the early IRA were Catholic and their opponents were Protestant was not the cause for the fighting. There were actually Protestants who were members of the IRA. Later on, the Official IRA became a Marxist organization. Regardless of all that, it was Christians fighting Christians with one side seeking to unite their country that the other was occupying. What we see with these radical Muslims is their desire to slaughter any and all kuffar/apostates.

I was trying to prove the point that there are other "terrorists" that do not follow Islam and not Muslim and was referring to the IRA etc. Never said IRA was an terrorist organization based solely on religion.

I have never experienced that muslims are synonym for terrorism, but there are radikal muslims who are willing to kill other people for their believe. With the help of the public press they want to imply that muslims are in general terrorists to create restlessness in the population and many people believe this propaganda, even though the religion of islam itself prohibits violence.

Because most of the terrorism was born in the Islamic country (Muslim). it is no wonder if people or the media internsional assume that all terrorists are Muslims. Although we do not know that these terrorists are all Muslims. What should be emphasized is that Islam never teaches violence, and Muslims are part of Islam, not Islamic part of Islam.

I think we shouldn't  be judge for terrorism by religion. I know some of the muslims are terrorist and some also are not and it is offensive and it is unfair to them that we said terrorism is synonym to muslims

Being politically correct is not beneficial to anyone. You need to check the root cause behind the Islamic extremism. Most of the radical Islamist organizations justify their atrocities saying that they are just following what is written in the Holy Quran. And they are right. There are a lot of verses in the Quran, which promotes violence against the non-Muslims.

The lying media is what has caused everybody to think terrorist is a muslim. First off not do they incorrectly do so but they fail to recognize people of other skin colors as a terrorist. For instance when a white person commits

an attack against the state they refer to their mental state, or some illness, or something literally anything other than terrorism. See for yourself the media influences the way we think heavily, dont let that be you!

because every act made in the name of religion means terror. some world leaders like this fact very much. Muslims use religion to feed terror, so the middle can never get rid of terror. in fact, Islam never embodies reality in the context of terror. but whoever they can not understand will be their greatest punishment.

It is true there are many people who want to terrorize innocent people, there is a wrong Muslim bow who does not follow the teachings of the Qur'an. There is always a scapegoat in society. One of the deepest terrorists in human civilization, Who? "" Hitler "!!! He persecuted 6 million Jews. Do we blame Christin fo that?, Hitler, he is a Christian ,, so because he persecuted the Jews, it does not mean all Christians do so, he himself. . he himself. "Mussolini" he is also a Christian, but not because he killed thousands of people then we blame Christianity. There may be a scapegoat in the community.

It is called mass mind manipulation. Ask Hollywood and CNN for details. As simple as that. We live in delusional ages.

Don't ignore the facts here. Did anyone in the Hollywood or the CNN asked the Muslims to commit tens of thousands of terrorist atrocities every year across the globe? This might sound atrocious to you and may even offend you, but will you deny the fact that countries with smaller number of Muslims are the safest nations on the globe right now?

Simple reason? Racism. Islamphobia. All that gross stuff.

White people commit acts of terrorism all the time, yet people don't always put the terrorist label on it. only reason for that is just internalized racism.

Since the year 2000, at least 18,782 people have been directly killed by acts Islamic terror. No other religious group or ideaology comes remotely close to causing the devastation that Islam causes in modern times. I'm not sure what you're logic is by bringing up white people and terrorism when discussing Islamic terror. Islam isn't a racial group, it's a religion. To address your comment though, leftists love to cite the stat from an article that not including 9/11(the largest terror attack is US history), you're 7 times more likely to be killed by a terror attack committed by a white person than a terror attack committed by a Muslim. They leave out the fact that the US population is 73.6% white, while Muslims comprise 1% of the US population. So even tough they leave out the single biggest terror event in US history, Muslims are still 10.5 times overrepresented in terror attacks.

Terrorism is very common in Muslim regions and the most common people who does terrorism are Muslims. The point on terrorism is to gain control over something but let's face it muslims aren't the only ones who want power we are humans and we naturally want to gain control muslims should never take all the blame because terrorism is caused by mistakes done by the government.

The difference between Islam and the other religions (both western or Semitic religions such as Christianity and Judaism, and oriental religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism) is that Islam is the only religion which calls for violence in order to spread itself. Hinduism or Buddhism never ask their followers to convert others by force or to massacre them.
in fact, the very essence of the religion of Muslims is to fight the infidels and this is practically what they are in the role of a society cleaner. Although someone told them that their religion is the most correct and that it is these people that are the only ones to survive on the planet. This is a kind of fascism in practice.

There are more than 50 Muslim majority nations in the world. Can you name a single one where the non-Muslims are being treated humanely? You won't be able to do that, because there are none. Even in the so called "developed" and "progressive" Muslim nations such as Turkey and Brunei, non-Muslims are regarded as sub-humans.

They are not synonym to terrorism.  Not all Muslim are terrorist. We just assume they were just because of their religion.  I have seen and known Muslim who does not support terrorism and was a victim of war.  The news should not focus on just one religion because terrorism has no religion.

Terrorism has no religion.
Once upon a time, some Christians were synonym to terrorism in the middle age.

Do you care to elaborate? I do not recall any Christian in history killing people because the bible says is right.

He may be referring to things like the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition or perhaps the terrorism that had occurred in Northern Ireland. I do agree that Islam is the most dangerous religion but Christianity does not have a completely clean record.

Yea that was dumb by me. But the Crusades, actually, was a reaction to the muslim invasion of Jerusalem and Iberian Peninsula.

Fear mongering. Every instance of Muslim violence is sensationalized. It sucks because I'm friends with a few Muslims, and they hate these terrorists as much as we do, if not more.

Do they share their feelings on social networks or just with you, privately?

saw a live on facebook on Al Jazeera news profile or channel, whatever about the some london attack. there we're some emoticons with sad faces or anger but mostly likes. waves of likes flowing on the screen. just way to many likes even if every terrorist was online and clicking like.

Terrorism should not have been generalized with the faith of a person.
Yet, muslims or the follower of Islam are looked as a terrorist around the world. (we might not but the majority of world does.)
What could be the reason for such stereotype?

I think it has become a stereotype because the media portrays it and we have been led to belioeve that all terrorists are islamic in nature when in reality islam condones this act and that terrorism knows no religion and respects no stereotype. Terrorism aims that people be divided and fear the islamic people so that they can be targeted and spread lies and dissent that when they strike we are a world divided. That is why it is very important that we know the difference of the two.

Maybe because most of the terror attacks in history involved Muslims. But we cannot actually say that Muslim is synonymous to terrorism because not all attacks were made by Muslims. I do not and will never share the same faith as them, but this stereotyping is a bit unfair for them. So let’s not generalize and just be objective..

Stereotypes get form based on available information in the brain to help us make quicker decisions. It's a brain defense mechanism and it's there to help and the use of stereotypes it's a good thing, can't really enumerate all the times a stereotype thinking saved me from danger or doing stupid things.

Most of the terrorist groups terrorist are Muslims. But we can't say that all Muslims are terrorist. Because of this terrorist groups other innocent ones are also blame. Every religion give message of peace. The young ones are misguided to attach for their peace . This is the reason why Muslims synonym to terrorism.

The teaching affects a lot.
Today the world has left behind the religious teaching and are taught about science and technology.
But still in the closed society of Islam, teachings like Jihad are being taught. They are brainwashed and can't think out of the box.
They do need modern form of education, that will widen their scope of thinking.

I think because in there Quran they teach that they should kill christians(i dont know for other religion)because they can get a reward for pleasure in heaven. If you commit suicide bombing and a lot of people killed then your reward will be great. You can have celestial drink or virgin females in heaven. So they killed people because of the Gods Word and also for themselves when they die.

OK. Agreed. But could you please give me the names of a few Jewish terrorists? Or for that matter, could you please give me a few names of non-Muslim terrorists, who justified their atrocities based on their religious book? I am sure that you won't be able to name anyone. And that is exactly the difference between Islam and the other religions.

There are some resons why these stereotypes exist.

To see these examples, do a search for “Skeptics Annotated Quran” and when you get to that page click on the “Intolerance” link on the right.

Like any other religion it has also good teachings. but put everything in balance and see how that goes.

Even though terrorist is a new word these problems exist since long ago.

You need to know more about ISLAM, what does it look like. Is there any history says ISLAM brutally kills someone else. Even in the battle, The Prophet Muhammad SAW told to not kill any women or children and the most unreasonable mindset of human, don't step on the plants, this small things is forbidden. The enemies of Prophet Muhammad SAW has already recognize the religion itself, they are admitted it. Islam is the peaceful religion, and it is in the straight way. Why those who killing regardless whether women and children don't say as a terrorist.

If there any muslim that does something wrong maybe you can ask our ulama. People are wrong because of their unknowledge.

Is there any belief that just ignore the slaughter?

I think the reason is the wrong news and tend to cornering the religion of Islam, many news media that disclose hoax news and news about terrorists are always linked to the religion of Islam, if there is news about terrorism that happens always in targeting the religion of Islam, even though many terrorism that happened not because of the religion of Islam or any other religion.

Islam is not a terrorist religion /Muslim are not terrorist. The word Islam means peace, pleasant. So Islam is a religion that teaches salvation good for oneself, especially for others.
Let's see with common sense, no religious teachings of any kind teach about violence, murder and massacres. terrorists are not religions, they are not belonging to any religion. Terrorists have no religion, they do not use any religious laws. Now we as humans who live in modern period, sophisticated, and advanced education should be smart in gaining information, not be easy to believe and conclude something. Nowdays, the media has a very big role to shape the mindset and understand the community. let's think smart.

One of the reasons would be the hatred that the West created for Islam, influenced by 9/11. The media fueled the terrorist / Muslim stereotype. People acquitted this stereotype, deceived by their xenophobia and hatred of immigrants (with the question that they are the causes of unemployment). In addition to our historical Christian indoctrination; the supremacy of Christianity in the West made it possible to revive the period of the great crusades as "positive" humanity.
As commented earlier, terrorism is everywhere, regardless of belief, country or race. Islam is not, and has never been synonymous with terrorism; what in fact exists, are radical strands, just as in Christianity itself, Protestantism, or any other ideology. And what actually happens, is the mediatic reporting of these cases of terrorism, extolling the aforementioned stereotype.
Sorry for some writing mistakes, I'm Brazilian.

Muslims's closed society had made them extremist.
They have their own closed schools, where they makes their child xenophobic.
A good example they convince them music is evil.
They lock up their girls. Girls are just for being wives of a male.

But now the things are changing,
Muslim students have started sharing their desk with others. Where they are free to talk about anything and learn anything.
Girls are getting some freedom.
They are talking about ideas, science and music more than ever.

They just need more love and attention.

I think PART of it has to do with something called "confirmation bias" where you use a cognitive shortcut when developing your opinion of something by drawing upon the most readily available information. That information is all the stuff you see on tv, message boards, events that you remember vividly like 9/11, etc. At least from the standpoint of a US citizen and prior military service member, when I think of the word terrorist, "Muslim" pops in my head. I know it isn't true for most cases even in the Middle East, but that's my brain's shortcut

Terrorism is the systematic use of terror, or fear, to make the populace comply with whatever groups demands or political beliefs. Religion is/has been one of the most widely used tactics to do so throughout history. Currently it's Islam that is being bastardized to do so. A few hundred years ago Christianity was being used for such purpose. People/Governments use this tactic to ensure the population does their bidding. Xenophobia, propaganda, and lack of knowledge are the best ways to utilize this tactic. People need to keep this in mind and not get caught up in the hysteria and try to use tactics to counter this type of thought. Education, open thought, and understanding are some of the ways that can be used. But there are the hardcore supporters of this and they are the ones that need to have their thought processes changed. I'm not saying accept terrorism in the least, just understand where/how it's coming about and then find ways to counter it instead of becoming part of the mob mentality regarding it, that's how we get people that don't need to be hurt in the way of the mob.

Nothing wrong with being a Muslim but the writings of the Quran can be misinterpreted far more easily than other types of religions. Everyone should just become athiest and learn to love one another and all of these problems would vanish.

Well the reason why that happened is because when they muslims are going about stabbing and shooting people, they are always saying Allahu Akbar, Christians don't say that and neither does other religions of the world except Muslims. When i do hear terrorist saying Jesus is Great will i start believing that they are also terrorist.

We have to think about it, can you make me a list of people who are terrorist but not Muslim and not following Islam. And In the same way can you make a list of terrorist who are muslim and following Islam.

Make it asap and the rest of world is able to understand that Islam has no relation to terrorism.

I'm waiting for your reply.

I am no expert in terrorist study but a widely accepted list, that is followed over by american and European countries for sanction and other purpose is the FTOs by bureau of counter terrorism of USA, which consist more than 2/3rd of Islamic groups.

https://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/other/des/123085.htm

Even the most talked about terrorist individual ever was Osama Bin Laden without any doubt.

This article also summarizes list by individual countries and UN's 1267 regime list
Still more than 2/3rd are islamic groups.

Simple reason? Racism. Islamphobia. All that gross stuff.

White people commit acts of terrorism all the time, yet people don't always put the terrorist label on it. only reason for that is just internalized racism.

Why the Islamophobia got into people?
In west (USA, western Europe) where there are even no muslims, in east (china, Myanmar) where they are living along with muslims for quite a long period of time.

Why is racism a thing? Why is sexism a thing? Why is homophobia a thing? It's just how the world is. There is no reason for it apart from people just being ignorant and wanting to feel better than others. I think that's the main reason; it makes people feel better about themselves by pretending their race/gender/faith is better than others.
