Your post isn't properly quoted

And about knowing those that are against the rules ain't easy
Who would want to waste their time to check if a post is plagiarised or AI generated before meriting
Now realised how it would be when a post you merited was tagged plagiarised or ai generated.
So many consider safer to wait and see how good they are.
Besides there are individuals who's first post gave them lots of merit because it was considered a contribution by those that merited it.

Creating this thread wouldn't change anything, just keep making good post
I have even received merit from a post I made in months
Some users tend to merit post that are old but they deem warrants merit.

Best would be to close the thread to prevent it in been spammed.
I'm still learning how to quote multiple users are the same time hence the reason why it isn't properly quoted, I understand your point better now. I probably got the wrong impression. I will lock the thread after this reply.

Yeah my name is actually listed there as one of the jr member on their way to member position, I maybe wrong in some of the points I made but I believe you get and understand my key point. Thanks

And what would your key point actually be? Your statement here directly contradicts your initial post.

Where do you think all of us higher-ranked accounts came from? We all went through our newbie phases and "earned" our place on the forum. Why do you think anything has changed since then?

I have often heard about merit abuse so why would high rank members be throwing merits are themselves for just smiling in the comments, I've seen it and I'm just curious to know why, well I guess they have paid their dues.

...Some newbies put so much time and energy making a post/thread and gets nothing for it and then you will see a hero/legendary members just say few words and earn up to 10/50 merit for merely smiling in the comments. Why are we so invincible and unappreciated here?
You ca notice that a genuine and direct-to-the-point reply/answer is more merited than a bunch of text and is repeatedly talking, or a response with 2-3 paragraphs when you can make it just 1 sentence or 2

I was told that long text with some many paragraphs would earn me merits but I've seen that it isn't true at all, we learn everyday.

Well, if this is true, then it's really questionable, but most of the users here, make merit as a "like" button on socmed and everyone has the right to use it for what they want even it's outside from the description given by theymos a merit should be.

Every words you outline on the post, do not appear accurate. I can count Legendary users that do help out lower ranked like us to achieve higher ranks. Your posts history do not also look worth meriting to the extent at which you are appealing for, i'm not saying your posts are garbage but posts on low merit boards like Games & Round, Collectibles and Off topic boards are not were merits can be earned from and you don't also expects more merits to come from other boards users when your posts are mainly on the Local board.

I screwed down and saw this post made by Legendary user on his journey as a newbie and how to grow your own ranks also.

You are going to get a lot of backlash for this but you need to develop a thick skin.
It has been one hell of a ride since I got here reading and learning about the forum and I have seen a lot of injustice, newbies are so underestimated here by those that are supposed to help us grow, even if we make sense in our post it always looks stupid in the eyes of the high rank members, we are never merited even when we deserve it. Some newbies put so much time and energy making a post/thread and gets nothing for it and then you will see a hero/legendary members just say few words and earn up to 10/50 merit for merely smiling in the comments. Why are we so invincible and unappreciated here? A little appreciation would help motivate us.
You misunderstood so many things and that's why you have written this to vent. Please note that this is not a nice little family gathering where appreciation is shared around. Second note that you do not write with the intention to receive merit. You write to add value to the community. If a member resonates with what you have written they can send you merits. If not, just focus on adding value, merits will come. Third, if you feel you need to receive merits but you don't, there are threads where you can drop those topics and will eventually receive them. Fourth, take your eyes off the so called high ranking members merit history. They may or may have not paid their dues for it but that's not your business. You'll keep getting upset if you continue. Fifth, we have all been there, a popular saying goes, "go hard or go home"  so roll up your sleeves and get to work. Desists from these types of posts.
I knew that I would get a lot of backlash from this post and I am ready for it as long as I get positive points from users, I appreciate your positive guard lines and I've seen your points. Thanks

I would like to thank you for your great efforts in getting so many merit points for relatively little activity, but when I read your opinion, I doubt all your efforts and quickly get disappointed.

I cannot understand how you concluded that newbies are not supported on the forum and that their posts do not get enough merit points. Have you looked at all the newbie accounts? Do you know how many new accounts get merit points every month? Fortunately, there are members who publish regular statistics that prove the exact opposite of what you are saying.

What I can understand from your post is that you want to win users' sympathy to give you more merit points because you want to upgrade your membership quickly and in the easiest way possible.
I knew someone would say that I want sympathy from users and earn myself some merit from it but you are so wrong Sir/ma, when I talk about newbies not earning merit as they should I wasn't necessarily talking about myself as I have a nice merit record and I believe in my records and achievement so far, I believe in hard work and I also believe that a user should be appreciated for their hard work. I think I know how the forum works and trying to earn merit from this post I made would rather earn me backlash and I was ready for it as long as some users gets my point, sorry for disappointing you and believe it or not I don't want sympathy from anyone I just wanted to express myself.

I’m sorry, but your assumption is wrong. If you look at the data from DdmrDdmr, you’ll see that there are low-ranked members who are about to rank up because they’ve earned merits. This clearly shows that merits are being distributed to everyone. Check it out for yourself.

Data as of 13/12/2024

Updated the lists in the OP (and subsequent post) to reflect the forum members that still qualify in each of those lists.

Currently, on those lists there are, lacking <= 20% merits to rank-up (activity may not be met though):

-    94 Heroes (on their way to Legendries)
-  114 Sr. Members (on their way to Heroes)
-    93 Full Members (on their way to Sr. Members)
-    78 Members (on their way to Full Members)
-  256 Jr. Members (on their way to Members)

Reason:
We try to protect the forum from multiple new accounts that register for malicious reasons.

Counter Argument:
We all started from the same newbie rank.
How exactly do you think we became high rank members?
Did we start from high ranks? No. We started as newbies, just like anyone else.

Personal Story:
I 've been a newbie once, this was my initial post. It's been more than 1.5 years since then. Nothing's changed because I 've gained ranks. I post with the exact same eagerness I used to post 1.5 years ago.

Suggestion:
I don't know why but many newbies share the same idea.
Trust the process, engage in serious conversations, learn and teach, don't prioritize leveling up in rank, just act normally. Everything else will follow.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will do better.

I laughed at this.
I wouldn't say you ain't right but your view is kinda limited
There are legendary members that are generous and give merits to anyone regardless of their rank.
If what you stating is the absolute truth then there wouldn't be any new higher ranked members
Ironically there's
Most of my merits came from this so called legendary members.
Just keep learning and making good post
If they find it to resonate with their view or worth meriting they would.

Many don't like meriting newbies because the likelihood of a newbie been tagged either for plagiarism or AI posting is high.

If you post to gain merit you would barely see any
Just be free and make quality posts.

You are right, there are legendaries that are generous and give to anyone regardless of their position, I forgot to acknowledge that. AI posting and plagiarism by some newbies has really done more harm than good for us (newbies) but y'all should be able to differentiate between those going against the rules and those that are genuinely working hard. Thanks for your positive comment.

Aren't the high rank members suppose to look out for newbies and help them grow? We also deserve to be merited because we are also contributing to the growth of Bitcointalk forum. And yes, there won't be a senior/hero/legendary member in the forum today without passing through the newbie position so I think we also deserve some love and appreciation. We have more than a hundred merit source in the forum but I can see that they are just distributing merit amongst the legendaries because I don't understand why someone would get 10 merit for just saying "hahaha* in the comments.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to high rank members here but it's just frustrating and I want to rant about the injustice.

Maybe you only think that your post is good to be merited but other think not, so don't expect people to think the same as what you are saying here. If you didn't get a merit on your post then I think your effort made is not enough so try to create more engaging or helpful post so that you can get your target merit.

Also its not mandatory for high ranking member to send their merit to newbies and people should earn it so exert more effort and try to be more informative on your next post if you really want to get some merit.

Maybe for now observe how people earn their merits and be more knowledgeable on each topic posted so that you will get more higher chance to earn and reached your desired rank.

Don’t put all your hope in merit else you’ll feel frustrated, honestly you’ve just shared your opinion although I have no words for this. It’s more strange seeing several topics like this also asking how and where to earn merit, no doubt op focus is merit related and the reason op created this topic might be considered as a result of curiosity.  Probably if you learn the necessary knowledge about bitcoin merit will come, it’s still not a guarantee you’ll earn the merit of course, aside ranking what should newbies know? Exactly my point just focus on reading and learning.
