It is not only about people falling for webpages and other shady businesses which alledgedly can help them to make money quick. There are also other kind of scams which are even worse, like romance scams and pig butchering scams. Those scams require the scammer to psychologically manipulate their victim in the mid and long term for them to pull off as much money as possible from them, before ghosting them.
To me, it is even worse than the usual investment scam, because those who are victims in this case are not even greedy over money, but rather believe to have found someone special to meet on the internet.
The people who fall for those romance scams are most likely married. They deserve to lose everything.

Regards,

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D.

How could you even know that? I mean, anyone who is single and gullible enough could be prone to fall for those types of scams, specially if they have certain characteristics, like being socially awkward when in front of other people. Besides, in the end scammers do not care whether one is already married or not, then go for one's money regardless.
If you have some credible scientific study or actual survey on people who fall for those scams and what percentage of them are married, then it would be very productive from you if you shared it with all of us. Instead of implying people who are scammed deserve to be scammed.

Scammers will never reduced in our country, because those young ones coming up , didn't also want to have something doing, they don't want to suffer again.. before it was suffer before pleasure , but now it is pleasure pleasure pleasure,
No body want to suffer again,so hw will they stop scamming.

I received another scam call yesterday, it's becoming too frequent. Has anyone been scammed before? How much money did you lose?
The rate of scams is increasing due to the competition among youths in our society, who want to get rich quickly without putting in any effort. The alarming rate at which online scams are increasing necessitates educating victims about online scams and keeping them updated,as scammers are constantly introducing new strategies that seem too good to be true.To avoid being scammed,it's essential to steer clear of get-rich-quick schemes at all costs and refrain from downloading attachments from phishing sites.Once you're familiar with the tactics employed by scammers, you'll be less likely to fall victim to them.Personally, I've never been scammed in the crypto space, not because I'm aware of their tricks, but because I make it a point to stay up-to-date with the latest crypto scam news.

Scam will increasing because the resources we have available are so limited and some lazy folks just want the easy way out. As the year goes by, it seems like the number of lazy and greedy people keeps increasing.

Being scammed comes in different forms and manners, while some are scammed of their physical money others get scammed with time,
You are right, this is as painful as losing money itself. Imagine losing an important opportunity simply because someone scammed you of your time? They used both your time, energy and everything in you just to lay you off and without even a pay. I've had my own share of experience and I must say no form of scam is good.

Scammers will keep using sophisticated methods to scam people, so do not expect it to stop any time. You should be security conscious always and make judicious use of your time, time is indeed precious.

This log we’re living in now we need to be very careful, because the scammers are full everywhere now and they’ve difference way of scammers people’s, as it happened to you the same thing also happened to me last week ago I received one call from unknown person trying to deceive his saying it deceive me, but as I prove to him that I also smart he didn’t waste much of his time with he just ended his called.

The scammers are always creating a way to scam’s people once they see they’ve know their ways they will try to change Ann into another difference way that none can know their private, there unaware that as they think they smart there’s more people’s who smart more them their smartest.

It is the urge for people to become quickly rich or to get easy money, so scammers exist in the world. Also the poverty and the difference between the rich and poor is going too much, that the unprivileged want to get money and have no other option but to scam people. Although there are many awareness programs online and offline that teach people on how to stay away from these scams but the scammers will always come with something new which most people couldn't even think. I sometimes think if the scammers use their energy and skills in positive things, they may do better and maybe a blessing for society.

Being scammed comes in different forms and manners, while some are scammed of their physical money others get scammed with time, I remember when I did a bounty for a project and I was promised a good sum of money, but when the time for payment got closer, the team pulled an exit one on me, leaving me with months of work without payment, this is the biggest scam that has happened to me all my day's in the cryptocurrency industry, I know also a few other's who are tricked into investing in wrong projects and even being a victim of phishing and another form of online scams, we need to be proactive and keep updating our security guides to help us stay above those scammers.

As long as there are still many greedy, lazy people who do not want to work hard and just want to get rich quickly, scams will never go away. Scams would not exist and we would never be cheated if we did not have greed. So instead of just blaming the scammers, we should find ways to control our greed and if we do so, we will never fall into those silly traps.

I quite agree with you that scam is normally initiated and carried out by greedy people but is it lazy people that always fall victim? Lazy people actually fall into the trap quickly more than any other people but there are genuine and hardworking people out there who only try to be safe from scam but end up being a victim. In some cases, some people get scammed when trying to protect their assets not knowing they are giving away their assets. For instance, some people receive a call from scammers claiming they are representative from their bank and request for sensitive information which they ignorantly give out to scammers. I don't think these set of people fall into the category of lazy people looking for quick money.

Don't you see how the world is changing every day? Even scammers are currently using many kinds of methods to deceive people, but we must be very careful while receiving any type of message. You could click on an unknown link, and before you know it, the scammers have gained access to any of your private information and taken your money. Do you believe the fraudsters will stop anytime soon? I don't believe so since they rely on it as a means of income, and they can't do anything else except cheat others because that's the only thing they know how to do.

However, according to your question, I have been scammed before, and that was a year ago. This is the reason why it is not advised to trade our coin anytime we are rushing or need to do something. During the p2p, I released the coin for the buyer, and he did not make the payment. I assumed he had to send the money, but I was wrong and released the coin to him. But everyone learns from the mistakes they make, and I've also learned my lesson and will make sure not to make the same mistake anymore.

I know that for a fact because I made that up completely. 84% of all statistics are completely made up on the spot. Um. I do not see any relation between being socially awkward and being prone to falling for scams even romance scams. But it is funny when a married person falls for a romance scam, so I bet that a lot of them do. After all, nothing drives adultery like a nagging grumpy mean spouse; and most people are dipshits so yeah, married people will fall for romance scams.

.... It's not hard to spot scammers, any platform that shows you how to make an enormous amount of money within a few days and tells you to invest is obviously a scam.

People scam out of desperation and people also get scammed out of desperation too, take a second to think about what I just said. Scammers are lazy people that actually put in a lot of effort unknowingly to them to make money quick. Scamming takes a lot of effort and brain work, most of them go through a lot of sleepless nights just to scam people, if they can have the consistency to do all that why can't they do a legal business?. Those that get scammed on the other hand are always being deceived by a get Rich quick scheme due to greed and all of that. It's not hard to spot scammers, any platform that shows you how to make an enormous amount of money within a few days and tells you to invest is obviously a scam.

Re: Why are there so many scams?
There are soamy scams because;
1. There are many greedy people who wants to be so rich overnight, they get scammed.
2. There are many lazy people who doesn't want to do much but to scam people.
3. There is another set of people who are ignorant of scammers and their antics.
4. Scam is hardly moderated, even in this forum.
5. Because even the government is scamming us.
6. Because scam is part of the cryptocurrency industry.

Why are there so many scams?

Because the Deep State has spent decades training people through television shows and movies to remain stupid. Scammers thank the Deep State. Even when they are scammed by the Deep Sate, they are still thankful, because they are learning new techniques.

Russia is different.

Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church condemns Western gender transitions as ‘Apocalyptic’

https://www.naturalnews.com/2025-01-09-head-of-russian-orthodox-church-condemns-western-gender-transitions.html
In a fiery televised interview on Orthodox Christmas, Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, denounced the West’s acceptance of gender transitions as a harbinger of moral collapse, declaring that such practices “smell of apocalypse.”

Speaking from the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, Kirill framed Russia as a bulwark against what he described as the West’s abandonment of faith and moral principles, positioning the nation as a spiritual counterweight to Western secularism.

The patriarch’s remarks come amid a broader cultural and political campaign by the Russian government to position itself as a defender of traditional values, in stark contrast to what it portrays as the moral decay of Western societies.

A spiritual battle against western ‘moral decay’

Patriarch Kirill’s critique of the West focused heavily on the normalization of gender transitions, which he described as a violation of divine law. “What is happening there smells of apocalypse,” he said, referring to Western nations. “This is against God’s law, and it will never be accepted in Russia as long as we remain faithful to our millennia-old cultural and spiritual heritage.”

The patriarch’s remarks reflect a broader narrative within Russia that frames the country as a guardian of traditional Christian values. He contrasted Russia’s spiritual vitality with what he portrayed as the decline of faith in the West. “They are astonished that we are building churches – 400 in Moscow alone,” Kirill said.

“In the West, churches are being repurposed, in the best case into mosques, and in the worst case into entertainment venues.”

This rhetoric aligns with the Kremlin’s long-standing efforts to position Russia as a global leader in the defense of conservative values. In recent years, the Russian government has enacted a series of laws targeting LGBTQ+ rights, including a 2013 ban on “gay propaganda” and, more recently, sweeping restrictions on gender reassignment procedures.

Russia’s legislative crackdown on gender transitions

In July 2023, Russia introduced legislation that effectively banned medical gender transitions, except in cases involving birth abnormalities. The law, which was framed as a measure to protect children from the “transgender industry,” prohibits individuals from changing their gender on official documents and outlaws most medical interventions related to gender reassignment.

The world is now a global world and scam especially online scam is now many, this scammers has killed a lot of people by defrauding them their life savings, there are ways to make money online however some of the always they show online are scam especially Ponzi scheme, a friend of mine saw and advert online about a particular Ponzi scheme and he reach out to them and they told him how it works he asked them how can he be sure if he invest his money he will get double of it in two weeks time according to them, they told him he could start with a small amount in other to try them so he invested with $10 and in two weeks time they paid him $20 so he became exited and invested with a huge some of money and that was how he was unable to reach them again and he lost his money he became frustrated and depressed.
The high level of online scam is becoming too much and the world needs to do something about it in other to but a stop to it, and also we that are seeing what is happening now let's always be careful before you invest or do any online transactions make sure you research very well and confirm the authenticity of what ever you want to venture into.

The rate and level of fraud and scam activity recently is so alarming and disturbing one  can hardly know which is legit or not from all the signals you are getting.
Investments when it comes to crypto should be thoroughly scrutinized before venturing into it because the level of scam levels are on the high side
None of you chlurmcklets know how to scrutinize anything, so the scammers will win. And even if you did scrutinize everything, the scammers will make you take up so much time scrutinizing everything that you do not have any time to enjoy yourself, so in the end the scammers will win.

Scammers are always lookout for new victims. But unfortunately, due to lack of basic knowledge, many people fall into this trap. One of the things you can do to avoid this type of trap is not to click on random links and to carefully observe the sites for any work before entering . There are many cases of hacking through phishing sites. Do not fall for any unknown call or anything suspicious. For the sake of security, the awareness of gamblers will get the highest priority. It is better not to share your personal information online. Scammers usually extract personal information from various sites and attack accordingly. Although I did not suffer financially from the scammers' attack, I was attacked and I got rid of it by taking the right decision at the right time.

In today's technology-dependent world, scam calls have become very common and the fraudsters' tricks are getting better and better day by day. Scammers send missed calls to millions of people at a time. Some of them return these calls. The scammer then takes all the information from that person's phone. In this way, they carry out such fraudulent activities by hacking emails, messages and Facebook. Scammers also deceive ordinary people by threatening or luring them or stealing information. Therefore, to avoid scammers, you must not click on unknown links. You must be careful or cautious when receiving calls from unknown numbers. You must not give your password or personal information to anyone and delete any messages or emails that seem suspicious.

I don't think scammers will ever stop scamming and likewise hackers too. They seem to keep evolving in their criminal tactics everyday developing new technologies to tweak the systems of their victims while the developers of these platforms also continue to improve their security architecture. Imagine even with the invention of the two-factor verification, hackers and spammers have equally developed deceptive systems to tweak those things. They've developed recaptchas to lure their victims into their phishing systems and so on. That's a development sort of in the world of scamming hence the need for companies to keep working with white-hart hackers who will protect their system and that if their users.

As for the scamming calls, I use the Truecaller application so frequently as I've subscribed for the premium version. The premium version assist me to not only display the names of callers automatically but also assist me in detecting scammers. I've also activated the automatic scammers blocking feature where numbers that have oftentimes reported by several users are blacklisted and calls from such numbers go into silence automatically.

I doubt if someone who is engaged with a meaningful job or job with a good paying salary will option into scamming others, from what I have observed from this side of country is that,  increasing unemployment rate equalls increasing scams,  people don't have what they're doing for a job,  now some of the. will find a way to want to survive, hence some will  tend to do all sorts of things to and scamming has seem to them the most short cut to wealth.

scams will never cease to exist most expecially at this festive season when a lot of people are looking for money in a cheap way and trying to see who will fall victims so they can extort them. I've heard my fair share of almost getting scammed through phone calls and in some p2p stuff I have tried to run but luckily, I've not fallen victim to any of them and I have learnt alot of lessons which has made me strong to some extent that I can say it's going to be deficult for me to be scammed again.

Just set all your security measures in place and ensure you're careful as much as you can so you can be sure you've at least done your part and the possibility of getting scammed will be reduced drastically. On and off the forum, scammers are in their numbers but you just have to be on your guide never to be the victim.

Shortly - because there is too many idiots who have too much money and they're ready to give it away with easy hand. Sorry if it looks a bit offensive. But as long as there will be people who will fall into it, scammers is going to make it. Some people just prefer to get easy money in such way, instead hard working.
And I guess that number of scams will continue to increase. With help of AI scamming becomes easier and you can create more sophisticated things with it.
Personally I didn't noticed increase in attempts to scam me - I just learned not to pay attention to such messages.
The scammers are finding every means in doing this  most people fall for them because they are desperate to make quick Money they always finding every short cut to make money instead of working on their self, I have been scam before sometimes this people come in divers ways I was scam on a social media platform Facebook I never knew a friend of mine account has been hacked so all my thoughts was that I was chatting with my friend some one I know very well but I never knew he wasn't the one operating on the account so he told me about a fast paying platform that himself is a beneficial to it that if I invest $10 now in a week time in will receive $20 I never knew that are scammers that was how my money went off like that so many things is happening we should yet pray that we never fall victim but as for me now I don't think I can be scamed again because I have know all their strategies.

Many for sure have lost their money to scams specially the newbies. Our data, phone numbers, emails and other details have been recorded already and passed on many scammers and we're part of their big database. And that's why the most important details that we have shouldn't be published in the public. While there can also be a victim blaming on this part, greed is the reason why many are keep on falling for these scams even the not-so newbies.

Thank you for your suggestion! I installed a caller ID app a few days ago. I hope it's useful, because sometimes I'm afraid I'll miss a call from my delivery service. Haha. Tongue Tongue

There are too many scams because it's probably a lucrative business for criminals because if business is not good they'd have closed shop. The fact is that there are a lots of ignorant people who keeps falling for their tricks, that is the major reason that I can think of why scams are on the increase They leverage on people's ignorance and greed to scam them, if you understand how most scammers operate, you'll simply ignore their enticements. There are always red flags that will be glaring people in the face but because they're determined to get quick money, they'll fall for the scammers. Simple things to avoid, don't click on sites that you're not familiar with even if they're from your loved ones and never believe any get rich quick scheme.

I received another scam call yesterday, it's becoming too frequent. Has anyone been scammed before? How much money did you lose?

I have gratefully lost no money to scammers, and I want to keep it that way forever. If you ask why there are so many scammers and scams out there, I believe it is quite obvious: there are too many people willing to give up on their moral integrity for the sake of money, because they do not know better, they don't know any other way of life which would be healthier than that.
Poverty, war, lack of education, lack of jobs and other factors contribute to people to try to find easier and faster ways to get money fast, in detriment of other who are gullible enough. .
The greed and crave of people towards easy and fast ways of making money has also helped in encouraging more and more scam activities and schemes to find success within the ecosystem. Perhaps if people could want to always take the right path and with critical research about every newly presented projects and offers  the growing rate of scams and scammers will drastically reduced.

I actually don't have room for excuses for getting into scam as means of survival or the victims who for greed to short cut to making money when they could ordinarily patiently take advantage of available legit options like bitcoin and other investment assets to build their future.

.... If you want to avoid scams, don't pay attention to people who tries to entice you that your money will rise within a short period of time.
...

It is easy to ignore strange offers of investments and schemes which are said to be able to multiply our money in a relatively short period of time, when those offers come from people who are strangers to us and we had never interacted with, though if you take a look at the way modern Ponzi schemes and piramid schemes work, you should see how those at the very top of the scam use the credibility of the participants/victims themselves for them to invite their family and friends to put their money in the scheme. That is why I have at least once seen a friend of mine inviting others to "invest" in what clearly was a ponzi, and in my opinion that is one of the most dangerous features of those type of scams, the way the put family members and friends against one another, after the scheme falls under its own weight...

Yeah, i have fallen to scam severally in the past when i didn't have much knowledge about the internet but when i came across discussions about scamming strategies that scammers use to target their victims, i become more wiser and don't pay much attention to those who advertise scam schemes of doubling your money or making an investment with a platform whereby your money will be increasing to a certain amount when you can be able to withdraw your profits. If you want to avoid scams, don't pay attention to people who tries to entice you that your money will rise within a short period of time.

I can't really sum up how much i have lost to scam in the past but i have lost a whole lot of money and it made me become more smarter because i have now come across so many scamming methodologies but i didn't fall to any and afterwards i discovered they are scams.

Scam has always been in existence and it is not an act that is new. Their are some people who believe in scam and sees it as the only means which money can be generated. I don't see any reason why scam or scammers you meet frequently seems to be strange to you, this is something we'll known as far as the earth is concerned. You just need to be very vigilant  because they come in a way that if you are not careful you will so  believe what they have to offer to be real. Be conscious and see every stranger to as suspect of scam, and always have that awareness of scam, I think with this it will be so difficult for to fall for it.

Scams attempts are everywhere and very frequent right now. I also receive a dozen of scam emails daily about different subjects attempting to make me click a malicious link and infect my device. Scammers are acting through mass spam to reach most people as possible in a short time interval. Of course most of the attempts fail, but they still profit from the minority who click their links and give them access to accounts in different platforms and personal documents.

The reason why the scam attempts are increasing so much is due to the fact people don't have ethics nowadays anymore. Since the world is corrupted, they feel in the right of being corrupt as well, claiming it's a mean of survival among the chaos. Although it's partially true, people shouldn't give up on living in the right manner, without cheating and taking advantage of each other.

it happens because the government is only interested in massacring us with taxes, locking us up in limited areas for presumed deadly diseases and forcing us to take vaccines that we don't want to take
after all, gambling, prostitution, scammers, they don't give a damn about anything.

In my opinion basic financial education should be mandatory in developing countries, so scammers do not further take advantage of the people who are the most vulnerable to greed and dreams of financial growth.

I support the idea of basic financial education for everyone, this will somewhat reduce fraud as people become more knowledgeable. But as I said, I think the root of fraud is greed and poverty. So if everyone has a stable job and income, everyone has a comfortable life plus basic financial knowledge then surely scam will be significantly reduced.

Therefore, in addition to supplementing financial education, the government should also promote improving the economy and people's lives. From there, we can expect scams to be significantly reduced and more easily controlled.

Scam is always rampant in this industry because it is an industry that permits that people can easily be scammed;
Scam is however more popular and rampant during the end of year because of the season's celebrations;
Scams always at the high rate during the bull run season also;
If you are scammed, reveal the scam method so that others can learn and avoid it. That is the most efficient way to fight scam. If one method is bursted, it takes them so long to device another method.

People are suckers. A good scammer can make a lot of money. You can easily see that this is true by looking at the number of people who believe their politicians.

But you're right, the number and types of scams will increase and become more sophisticated. Because looking at what is happening in the world, it is easy to see that more and more people are becoming lazy, especially the younger generation. They are lazy to work but always want to have the life of rich people.

Ironically, as the number of lazy and greedy people continue to be this steady or even grow I don't think scams will need to get much more sophisticate. Actually, there are scammers who continue to go with the easiest of the tricks in the book ans offer the victims the same "double your money" scams the the typical unseasoned ponzi schemes, they continue to fall for it, so sophistication is not necessary for scammers to continue to make profit, unless they go for specific targets in spear fishing.

All I have said is specially true about people from countries where no financial education is given to children, to young adults or even the elderly and they all end up falling for the same ponzi schemes, whose creators are usually from India and Asia.
In my opinion basic financial education should be mandatory in developing countries, so scammers do not further take advantage of the people who are the most vulnerable to greed and dreams of financial growth.

But you're right, the number and types of scams will increase and become more sophisticated. Because looking at what is happening in the world, it is easy to see that more and more people are becoming lazy, especially the younger generation. They are lazy to work but always want to have the life of rich people.

If you are getting too many scam calls, I would recommend you to switch your Telefon number or use some features of Google to block spam/scam calls, usually it works well when we talk about getting those annoying calls on Android devices.

I received another scam call yesterday, it's becoming too frequent. Has anyone been scammed before? How much money did you lose?
The advancement in technology had its challenges. Scammers are now devising different means of deceiving and stealing money from people. Materialism is another reason for the increase in scam activities. Young people are now on the fast lane. They want to make money as soon as possible with little effort. Celebrities showcasing wealth on social media are pushing the young generation to engage in criminal activities so that they can live big like their celebrity role models.

Some of the means of avoiding these scams so to be free from greed and the desire to get rich quick. Some of these scammers come up with enticing businesses which promise huge profits. Also avoid clicking on unsolicited links and learn how to protect your wallets and other accounts.
