And so, why are so many ethereum tokens of ICOs allowed to have their announcement in the altcoin section?
I've said it before: they should be called ITOs instead of ICOs.

Hope this project will be succeeded.Want to see more details about project.

This post from Theymos explains the definition of a token. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/definition-of-tokens-2251834

All coins are not tokens, but all tokens are coins....

Is that because mods are not diving into looking into each individual case to enforce the definition? I guess that'd be the case.

Yes, BUT, many posts in the altcoin announcement board involve a token, especially those that are about ICOs. Provided that token generation events for the distribution of ICO coins involve a token I think it'd be better to have ICO threads all under the tokens board.

No?
No. Because then it won't make sense, since ICOs =/= Tokens and thus having the "Token" section would be pointless if you're going to pool them together like a melting pot. If you're getting rid of one of the sections, then it should be the Tokens one since it occupies a greater field.

Just because many posts are concerned with tokens doesn't mean you have to combine the sections. Doesn't make sense.

If you go to the altcoin announcement board you'll see many ICO announcements.

The Tokens board is a child of the aforementioned board and its description reads:
"Announcement threads for tokens, which are altcoin-like things built on top of other cryptocurrencies. "

So why aren't all ICO ANNs moved there?

Because coins and tokens are very different things.

Coins are generally products that are designed to store its own value on its own blockchain, while tokens are products that has to rely on another blockchain, such as Ethereum or WAVES.
