The bears you are talking about are only short term bears but are actually long term bulls
There are not many people here who think btc is "worthless". Most of the "bears" are speculating about a temporary drop to the 500s area before bouncing back. The goal is to double their btc before the next rally. Yes it is for their own gain, but many of them aren't lying - they actually think the drop is going to occur. Now why post about it here? For some people it's purely for purposes of academic debate and socialization with the community. For others, they think that perhaps if they get everyone to agree that a down movement is due, then the inevitable down movement will happen more quickly (or deeply) and they'll be able to get it over with more quickly or make more profit. I personally don't believe that I have any ability to influence this market whatsoever, so I post for purposes of debate to oppose opinions that I don't agree with and balance out all of the rainbows and ponies. There's also those bragging rights you get in the trading community when you call movements perfectly.

Bears believe BTC is worthless so they already sold all their BTC. They don't have to worry anymore because they already did "the right thing". The only reason for them to stay here trying so hard to convince bulls to sell their BTC is because they are worried about other people losing money?
Or: Bears have shorted BTC and stand to make a profit if the price drops.
