It falls because people sell Cheesy

It's most likely falling because it reached a round number (5000) and many people use round numbers to cash out. Besides, after the recent rise, a correction was due... So everything is following its "natural" course. I don't really think the ICO situation played a role.

I don't think there are books on the subject.
More importantly it is selling by few people and followed by masses or rather its the panic and fud which created people to sell. But then people buy a lot too and bitcoin reaches so high with days, so there is always a time when there is a little awkward news and sell panic will show up.

well, many things can cause bitcoin prices to fall. like yesterday. I think it is influenced by china. but, now it is back to normal, although many altcoin have not returned to their original price. well, there could be panic selling. the bitcoin price drops depending on the circumstances.

Hi guys. About current fall in bitcoin price. Is that because China banned the ICOs? If so, why did it rise before that? Can you guys please recommend some books to read which explains about the factors influencing bitcoin price? Thanks in advance
No, isn't because china banned the ICO. the price fall because some people has sell their coin for take a profit, no more reason for it. Maybe you always see bitcoin price on china market always below from other market but it can not be used as a reference to make a prediction.
a lot of factors actually , and the ICO ban could be one of the factor. a lot of people believe that it is the reason why bitcoin falling , but there is another reason too and it was about the high price , there some old bitcoin address moved and believed looking to sell them all.

an early adopter seems interested to sell their bitcoin now .

Ya some what right.May be due to China ICO fall the bitcoin price may reduce. It also due to the old bitcoin sold bulky for the profit. If they have hold lot of bitcoin for long means they forced to sell when the price is high. For the profit you must sell when the price is higher. It may again the price will change.

I think because there is issue that ico will be banned in China so many investors sell their bitcoin and make the price is fall.
But im sure that its just a moment. Bitcoin can up again

A lot of people who purchased Bitcoins in mid-July for sub-2000 levels are selling all or part of their coins and booking profit. A major correction is due, but even in this occasion, the decline is not very sharp. A reason for that may be continuing high demand from the investors. Right now, the demand outstrips supply by a good margin.

I think that the statement of China could allow speculators to create market panic and buy bitcoins at low prices. I have a question why do you say that the price drops. Have you forgotten that before this price is increased by several thousand dollars. It may be an ordinary correction.

In my own understanding I attached the recent decline in the market value of Bitcoin to the fources of demand and supply, which is always the significant factors that affects the upward and downward trend of Bitcoin. Except on rare occasions that fundamental events affect its value. Just as you mention the events in China.

The rise was because of hype that was generated due to media attention to bitcoin, and that was initially because of bitcoin's price skyrocketing. So the rise in bitcoin's price is actually sort of a positive feedback loop that involves bitcoin price and media coverage.

Nothing to do with China banning ICOs. Reason it fell so quickly was because that China essentially out of the blue decided to ban ICOs without prewarnings.  These things can't be taught in books because they can't be known before the actual announcement gets released.

I don't think that you need to worry about the fall too much though. BTC is comfortably rising up once again, and i think we shall make a near full recover soon.

The rise got nothing to do with china banning, china banning was the one that caused the price falled down, people are afraid the government is going to take the next precaution step by banning all coin so there was a panic sell and this situation caused the traders to hold their transactions, I think you can read this online, there is no book written this kind of incident yet, but this situation will recover again just give it some times

This was just a sell of btc has reached it's highest mark but because the price has increased by a big margin the fall would occur. If you check fast whenever the price increased unexpectedly fast there has been a fall though this might be the biggest fall of all time just wait for a week the market will slowly start recovering.

It's normal that bitcoin price is falling because bitcoin is popular for its volatility . bitcoin is a decentralized currency that's the reason why bitcoin price is randomly rising and falling. it depends on the demand . if the demand of bitcoin is high. bitcoin price will rise too . but when bitcoin users cash out their bitcoin mostly bitcoin price used to fall. panic selling cause bitcoin price to fall.

Those replies at the top of me and before they have a point, after it reach around 5000$ this past few days many have sold they're bitcoin and their might be a huge numbers of bitcoin holders that do it the same time. So it's natural for bitcoin to fall its value and in that way many will buy back again in no time. And then it will be increasing again that is the cycle of bitcoin. That's how trading works.

So, there's not a book about the prices of bitcoin. I read some articles about previous bitcoin crashes. China's decision seems to have an influence on the price. But, most spectators agree that price is already falling even before their announcement. By announcing  at the right time, they can show their role in cryptocurrency. In other words, cryptocurrency can be the ground where governments do their power play. In addition to crypto's genuine potential, it will be no wonder, bankers will soon totally dive into crypto world. Still, the influencing factors of the price are unclear. I think buying and selling volumes explain much better.

Chinese government have the power to create positive and negative swings in the crypto-market as we observed in recent times. Hopefully, they will embrace the crypto world soon which could trigger a bullish market soon. Smiley

I agree, people are cashing out.
However, every drop is also a opportunity to buy the coin for a cheap price. I wonder, what the lower limit is and how long the "fall" will last. Maybe, it's just a small drop within the bullish way up. Chart does still look ok.

I don't believe a the ICO news had anything to do with Bitcoin selloff. If you see a connection then please show us your reasoning.
IMO the price has grown by too much in a very short period of time and there had to be a correction. We had one not long ago and the price has recovered and reached a new ATH, which was followed by another selloff right before $5000, a nice round number. Why would people choose exactly $5000 to sell? If it were to be influenced by the news from China a dump would begin at some random price. $5000 proves it was traders taking their profit, nothing to worry about.
I bet we'll follow the pattern of the previous correction and recover within 2 weeks.

The answer is very simple, it's the fud which is created and then the people are panicked that they will lose the money in bitcoins since China was the major driving force of bitcoins. But when the panic selling is over the bitcoin price will recover pretty easily.

The negative Chinese news made this roller coaster sell of take place. The winners of course are those who offload every time there is some news, so they take a lot of profit home. The losers are the newbies who bought at ATH and then dumped because they followed the whales who will now go and scoop up all the cheap BTC when it reaches the bottom.

All news related to Bitcoin can also affect the rise and fall in the price of BItcoin, let alone the issue of ICO refusal in China today, because the market BItcoin in China is very large. But there are many other causes that make the price of BItcoin down.

I think that the current fall in btc price is quite normal. China banning ico might have also something about it but not entirely. I think the reason for the fall is that when we hit the all time high at $5,000 people started selling off their btc. Thus the decline of the price. And people will start buying in again just like the old times. It has been the cycle and I think it's just the way it is.

Probably this too: https://www.coindesk.com/btc-es-big-claim-bitcoin-withdrawals-begin-tomorrow/

"BTC-e, the long-running and controversial bitcoin exchange targeted by US authorities last month, has claimed that users will be able to withdraw their funds beginning Saturday."

Good point - lots of panic selling going on at BTC-E...  It just goes to show how many idiots there are out there without wallets (ie. using an exchange to hold their wealth).

Also USA has a holiday weekend - those are commonly opportunities to short the price down.

Not only the bitcoin, majority of the altcoins are with a red mark. This is a because of the correction happening over the entire digital currency network. Or else it would be an price drop after a bigger price increase as we experienced few weeks back while getting near to $4000.

It is not because of correction. It is because of china set regulation on crypto. They ban ICO and list ICO as illegal activities in China. This cause panic and FUD so people are starting to cash out their money out of crypto. This has happened before when China discourage BTC years ago.

If you enter to any exchanger right now you will see that there are more sell orders than buys.
This is the main factor that makes bitcoin go down at the moment, also there is too much panic around because "everybody" says that we are in a bubble and that bitcoin was gonna crash before the five K, that is why most people are selling their coins.
but there is nothing new, just a little FUD, but all is fine right now.

This is the normal issue  that happens goes up pretty fast. Thi is a kind of price correction. It happens to  to prevent the overpricing of bitcoin and it save BTC from becoming a bubble. So you can hold your coins for some time, i'm pretty sure the price will go up in some time.

I don't think any external decision is causing this instability or downfall in the price. In fact, I was expecting this scene a few weeks earlier. I believe that Bitcoin should grow at a stable rate and according to the growth of the user base. The recent rally was excitement rally to touch $5K mark and immediately after touching that milestone, thousands of pre-placed sell orders triggered as per the standing instructions and price went down dramatically. However, that's a cool incident and nothing to worry about it and I am sure we will be floating around $5K mark (actual price unlike recent rally) within the first few months of the next year.

It seems to me that the price will recover earlier and we will see 5000 - 6000 dollars in a month. Now is a great time to buy. I've been waiting for this fall for a long time. This was predictable and this was expected by many

As it is not only Bitcoin but other altcoins as well, there is nothing much to worry about. If it was only Bitcoin ok, let's start clicking the Panic button, but currently, it is not needed. As for now, it is better to wait wisely what's going to happen in the next following days and to see how the market behave.
Again, the recent new about China + BTC-e users who are moving their coins they got back from the platform are making the thing up

I believe it happened according to the following sequence:
1- Short term traders trying to make profit after the huge rise of bitcoin price getting close to $5,000
2- Chinese Ban of ICOs
3- General fear here and there because of the above 2 factors especially from new traders/investors

Look at this

16 June : $ 2.538 ++ (up)

15 July : $ 2.076 ++ (down)

15 Aug : $ 4.600 ++ (up)

15 Sept : Well, I guess it's time bitcoin to get down in order to get higher on 15 Oct
Your predict quite reasonable, because in November, we will have HardFork in Bitcoin system and the price of Bitcoin will fall down in that time if have panic seller or speculator affected by FUD. However, September is best time for shopping crypto cheap price kaka! Cool

ICO will stay with the ICO and bitcoin will stay with bitcoin.
But, don't you think too many scammy ICOs hurt the reputation of cryptocurrency?

If ever there will be a happening it should have been an increase because they banned it, investors will sell the tokens to bitcoin.
I think so too.

not only bitcoin is in RED LIGHT also other Altcoin... as bitcoin reach its $5000 many users are start to sell there coin. If many people sell there coin bitcoin and altcoin will start to decrease its price. I think one factor affecting the price is the China banning ICO but i think it is not that huge effect, other factor is the news from Russia about money laundering using bitcoin. but still it is not that huge effect, as i see it is about people are satisfied in the selling price thats why they start selling there coins.

I suppose exactly this negative news from China provoked the fall in the price. China owns many of coins and users and must be they all moved to selling of their founds.
This information really makes me scared. I have invested in some ICOs this summer and I'm scared what is going to be with those tokens that I have bought already in the case if here all ICO projects will be banned here too.

I think you hit it on the round number.  People have been waiting for it to hit 5000 before they sold some, just to be sure they didn't lose all of it.  I know I would have felt better to get a little out before a major correction.  If I had any to get  Grin

On my own research and observations bitcoin is falling price because of the appearance of different kinds of cryprocurrencies, just like the ethereum,Altcoins, litecoins and many more. These other appearance of coins or simply these coins has also an high value thats why people and users also use these and in that case the users and bitcoiners are lessening because of many crypto that appears.Bitcoin is falling because of these things happening.

ICO announcement, yeah. Raised alarms and concerns about the crypto market as a whole, even though it's not related to BTC per se. The good news is that China have tackled BTC directly in the past, and it returned back and doubled within a month or two - it'll bounce back...good time to think about buying in.

Its all about supply and demand.
When the demand for bitcoins is less the price falls and when the demand for bitcoin is more, the price for bitcoins rises.
There are tons of buyers who sell on huge amount and when the price falls they then buy again at a low price.
These are times for us to buy and make a profit.
I too just bought 0.5btc more for investment... its not everyday that the price falls at a huge margin.

Basically when the Chinese government shift their weight the ripple affect is felt globally. They have made an announcement

lately on ICO's and this is causing the ripple affect in the markets. A lot of people see China as one of the economic giants and

when that government turns it's back on ICO's it will slow down the influx of capital into some of these projects. They forget

about all the other countries that might still invest in these ICO's. Let's be honest, some of these ICO's has been a joke and

people lost a ton of money on these failed projects.  Angry

What goes up, most come down. This correction was long overdue.

I don't think that China's ICO statement had much of an influence. The alts follow suit because that's what they always do when BTC starts bleeding. Let's see where the bottom is.

If USD 4k,- holds, that's bullish. If not... cheap coins I guess? We'll see, the jury is still out whether it's just a minor speed bump or the actual end of the rally.

It's interesting, but maybe that's happening before a huge dump. We 100% don't know what's happening in China. Because news as well could be sold.

I think it's a combination of many things. The China ICO ban. A minor correction after such a quick rise resulting in many people selling off the lock in profits. Once the fall began more people panic sold causing a further drop. Beyond that. And entering the weekend where banks are closed resulting in little powering buying to transfer new money in especially from many of the newcomers. Hopefully we will see the fall stop once tomorrow hits.

Hi guys. About current fall in bitcoin price. Is that because China banned the ICOs? If so, why did it rise before that? Can you guys please recommend some books to read which explains about the factors influencing bitcoin price? Thanks in advance

Maybe because the level average of the sellers are much more higher than the buyers that's why the price value is crashing down, and every time this thing happens most of the bitcoin fanatic who are not deep into bitcoin got panic and had a feelings of fear about it. But still you need to hold on your coins, just continue to believe in folks.

It's not only about bitcoin. Ether and all other altcoins are falling as well. The problem is that we reached the end of the bubble. More people started to exit, as this happens, more people joined this sell party. This triggered a huge falling, simply say.
