In my opinion the price was all the times high because many crypto community promote benefits of BTC to the new big investor. The price of Bitcoin soar high to fast and the price also was going down so fast. The price of Bitcoin was going down to 70% from the top price and this price action still normal if we look in to historycal the price since 2010. When the price soar and all the times high, do not forget to take profit because the price will be going down, do not FOMO because we will loss by this emotional.
For me the reason behind why bitcoin soaring high because they are in demand business in this industry because they are trusted company and proven to the investors that can makes you profitable enough.
There's some possibility about this case

definitely your correct in a week bitcoin increasing fast but take be careful as bitcoin holder do not panic because have sometime bitcoin dip faster more than faster than to increase their price totally dump the price into the lwoer value.
Current price is just a correction and that's sign of big correction which i expect till April. Imo price will keep climbing till high levels but ATH will be less than 20000$ for mentioned period. I dont advice to surf in this range because only professional traders can handle this dead cat.

Yeah keep in mind during December a lot of us were surprised when BTC hit 9k.. when it actually kept going up and hit 10k we were shocked. Now that it's 10k, we're all disappointed, and this is only 2 months later! This is still a bull market in my opinion with a bit of a correction, December did soar just a little bit too much at once. Personally I think 40k might be a bit greedy, 20k as the new ATH is fine with me.. it came so close to this before but didn't quite reach it. Perhaps this time we will.
